EX and Toon have the same headsculpt, antennae or whatever are straight vertical.
Comic and Tiger G2 share heads, the sides are angled out a bit.
And a few other slight differences, like the brows and faceplates.
Not sure about the blue G2 head as I don't own him

For those who have the Comic, EX and Cartoon, are the head molds different? It looks like the EX and regular release have the same head, just different colors, whereas the Comic looks like it might be different. Is that correct, or do they all use the same mold with the exception of the SG ver?
spark crusher
sorry, meant in dino mode reg arm joints, and my grim only has fists and open hands
Mechman42
but grim does have a bicep swivel, normal elbow, and pointing hands.
spark crusher
got grimlock today, lack of bicep joint/forward bending elbows is a really weird one. pointing hands and a clear chest thing wouldve been nice aswell…

Hasbro prototypes always have a market. Usually what happens is they will be plentiful for a couple of years and then when they disappear from the market for a few years they start climbing up in value quite a bit. Certain MP, CW, and Prime prototypes seemed to be the most plentiful, but even those started climbing in value quite a bit. I remember when you could pick up BW prototypes for around $50 for a deluxe. Now you can't touch them for under $200 to $300. Is it a ton of money, no, but it's still 5 x 6 times more than what they were. 3rd party prototypes I don't see pop up enough to really gauge them. I picked up a couple DX9 Carry testshots that had the original chest paint for around 2x as much as the retail one.
lilcarus
maybe for like a quarter but that's basically all it is worth these things hold no real value. it's not like this is a hastak proto and even then only a small few are ever worth anything.
most of the guys who bought into that fantasy are seriously regretting it. i see them on and off the goggles and everytime i do they are always trying to move their "grail" figs.

I'm wondering if that figure was made for transformation scratch testing?
Mold it in some obvious colors, paint all the surfaces that are likely to be painted with a shiny paint that easily shows flaws, then transform it a few times and see where the color shows through.

I found someone on AliExpress that has it for an okay price. Not a great one but still. Robotoybase is a rip-off though. Might have to trawl the BST like you said.

Newage NA H44EX YMIR (Toy Color) or searching the buy/sell forums here (which is what I did) may be your best bets.

Any chance anyone still has the EX version in-stock? Preferably Chinese retailers, for around retail price.
I've checked ShowZ (who sold out right before I ordered it previously, so I've been putting it off), baba, TFSafari, Terry's, and Bombusbee. I know there are others but it's getting a little exhausting hunting this thing down.
TFSafari has a couple of KOs but they seem to be of lesser quality (and one is oversized), so that's not ideal.

It's not too uncommon for NA to make allowances for paint thickness, resulting in bare plastic versions being a little looser. The toes and neck on my Sludge are loose, but not so loose that they don't hold a pose, they just move really easily if you start handling them.
SelectedLime375
Sounds like ours are the same then. I know one of my Sludges had looser toes, but not this loose. The chrome ones were tight because of the extra layer. So might be painted/chromed vs bare plastic.
Ryan F
Yeah, I definitely have the toe issue but my neck is okay (ish).
SelectedLime375
@Ryan F how are the tolerances on your Lucky Draws? My Sludge's neck is pretty loose and the toes won't stay in robot mode at all.
Ryan F
sure, no probs – yes, from ShowZ

Are those from ShowZ? Could you get a picture of the boxes if you have them?
