Third party company Mechanic Toy, via their Weibo account, have updated our first look at the color prototype of their MS-37 Sunstorm (Legends Scale G1 Sunstreaker).
According to the information shared in the Weibo post, this figure will stand 10 cm tall in robot mode.We only have an image of robot and alt mode, but it seems the a nice alternative for your Legends scale collection.
See the new image after the jump and then let us know your impressions on the 2005 Boards!

Someone asked Mechanic Toy if they will ever reprint their MS-11 Mini Sentry Omega Supreme. Dr Wu replied that Mechanic Toy doesn't have the mold anymore and is just a designer.
Dr Wu either doesn't know or doesn't want to reveal who has it. My guess is Machine Boy, since they have their own factory and rebrands and sells the MFT stuff for overseas markets.
So more likely they broke away from that relationship.

dammit, i thought the thread bump meant news that we were getting a sunstreaker. got me excited for nothing, thx!

There was talk of them and MFT disbanding at one point, then the collaboration with Wu was announced. Maybe that ensured them to stay afloat?
There's really never a clear story with these things.

Their Weibo is still active, and have a shared group chat with Dr Wu. I asked them a few weeks back regarding their HOS Insecticons, and they replied.
Their logo is on the front of Sandstorm's box, while Dr Wu's is on the side:

Broadside was also announced via their Weibo in Aug.

Mechanic Toys has since disbanded, with a lot of their projects up in the air.
Dr. Wu recently picked up their Sandstorm, so there's a chance he will do their other stuff, like this and their Blurr.

I wish this would progress as we really need a legends Sunstreaker

There are too few new Legends+ figures as a whole, I don't think anyone has any illusions that they will get a complete S1-3 Legends+ collection.
For me, it's always case by case. And my criteria is getting higher. It must be better than the MS figure (or I feel it should be, if the MS one is not released.)

Well my collection has taken a different turn now in the last 2 years compared to when I started.
MFT quality is not the best, mess around with them much and they become very loose and floppy.
If they have stayed around the same price range, it is fine, but last releases came up to almost MS prices and that is not worth it to me.
Qualiy of MFT is not worth more max $25/30 for single figures and $50 for leaders like prime and rodimus imo.
Nice that they started with original designs but for just a few bucks more I have better quality that will last longer.
Zentropy
I think you’re right about Rodimus, but I don’t write off— nor do I “sign on” to— any brand. I judge every release independently regardless what company it comes from, and I don’t consider any of these companies permanently down for the count any more than I think any of them are incapable of collapse.
Dutchy79
I have a feeling they are using the Rodimus mold repaints as a cash grab to start again.
If that sells good, you might get some hopes the rest will follow.
If not, I do not think MFT is coming back to the point they were when I started collecting.
I have written them off to be honest and will focus on the other brands.
lilcarus
blur is for sure but this bot i hope not.
nobody1898
do we think this or their blur are still in the works?
MegaMoonMan
Looks fine to me, but way too big. Need MS version of him, Windcharger and Gears and I think that's it for my G1 legends collection.
TFXProtector
And that is why I hate it.
G.I.EDDIE
I do. It looks like the "slipper" articulates. The toe area and the flat part under the entire leg.
ICEPnguin
Does anyone see ankle articulation? They look pretty static and fixed. Not even a tilt option.
Megawillbot
Nah showz is correct, I think we should all purchase 5 of this, at minimum (I personally sold my collection so I can have a shelf full of the glorious MF-37)
realwhz
Mechanical studio is a separate toy design company. They have their own designers and team. They just once used MFT as their distributor. The correct product info for this one is MS-37.
realwhz
ShowZ obviously made a mistake. This is a genuine product by Mechanical studio and should be MS-37. It has nothing with MFT, the ko company.
smkheidze
Yep. Or already it is the same designer.
