Via Chefatron on YouTube we have a set of in-hand images the Transformers Legacy Wave 2 Voyager Soundwave.
Legacy Soundwave is a re-release of the Siege Soundwave mold but without the battle damage paint apps. This new “clean” Soundwave looks almost identical to the original Siege mold but showing a slightly darker gray and blue plastic and a more clear and shiny yellow plastic piece for his light piping effect. We have good comparison shots of the Legacy and Siege releases side by side. It’s good to notice that he doesn’t come with any cassette-bot partner as it was with the Siege version.

Very nice of them to give us Soundwave a finger for scratching his head
NexMix
SS86 Rumble is coming out soon and he's actively better than the siege one. My recommendation is to give the mold a chance, it's legitimately my second favorite WFC mold behind siege Starscream because of just how good the robot mode is.

without any cassettes, he's not even worth 20 bucks let alone 30. the cassetticons are so essential to the character its not a complete figure without them. even the core class at least came with 1. this is flat-out ridiculous.
So now those of us who missed out on the first release have to track down those 2 packs from siege?
this is dumb.
VictoryBot93
Ah, I get ya. Had a real double-take just now.
NexMix
Thought this was the SG thread for a moment lol, sorry. Based on SG Blaster's comic's cover, it looks like SG Laserbeak and Ravage will be included with SG Soundwave
VictoryBot93
Wait, he's coming with those cassettes? That's not what I saw in any coverage or promotion.
NexMix
Since it looks like he's only gonna come with Ravage and Laserbeak based on that Blaster cover art, I don't think it'll be an issue. Siege Soundwave only had an issue with the Ratbat and Frenzy molds
Edit: wait, what thread is this again? I doubt there would be remolding to fit Ratbat, but the new Rumble might be made to fit
VictoryBot93
So do we know if this Soundwave has the retooled chest that makes it less likely for the cassettes to get stuck? Never had a version of this mold before so I don't have any experience with it, but it was a pretty common topic I saw discussed way back when.

Because we have offended our Hasbro overlords and they are punishing us
JomasterII
Because at time of production Walmart had some sort of stranglehold on the moulds, apparently.
rodimusconvoy
Why did we receive this instead of netflixwave?
Thundershot
Let’s not forgot they these figures yellowing were likely already made or in the process of being made when Hasbro became aware of the yellowing and acknowledged it. It may be a while still before it goes away.
SovereignKnight
It\'s a pitty that this re release now suffers from the defective yellowing plastic issue. Get ready folks, the yellowing saga is just getting started. Looks like Hasbro likes pissing people off.

While I didn't mind battle damage overall on figures(I like it on Megatron or Galvatron). I realy disliked painted scratches on the chest window on Soundwave. This Legacy version will be the perfect Soundwave for my collection since I'm not a fan of imovable alt-modes.
PlanckEpoch
Agreed here. Siege Soundwave did not shelf warm at all. He sold through fast and was gone by the time Springer hit shelves.
Thundershot
That’s not how it works.
Soundwave wasn’t a peg warmer, at least not that I ever saw. Heck, before they announced the Legacy one, Siege Soundwave was selling for around double the price at times.
Also, no one is forcing you to buy it.
BIGGUY007
Oh boy. Let’s take all the peg warmers and shelf warmers, repackage them and sell them at a higher price. That’ll move some units!

I hope blaster gets a figure like this, Even if its just a gen selects or recolor, transformers turning into guns and MP3/Boomboxes, Cannons, Etc. have always been something I have disliked( minus the targetmasters since they're purposefully small). although galvatron gets a pass to me since he has treads. It just doesn't fit with modern takes, although there are exceptions like the WFC games it was cool they put that in the game. I really like K/L Blaster and I want the netflix mold but they're more desk toys to me than something I'd want standing next to my main stuff.
