Third party company Newage have revealed, via their Weibo and Facebook accounts, images of their H34Y Hephaestus (Legends Scale G2 Devastator).
This a G2-inspired yellow redeco of H34 Hephaestus (with some differences like gray parts). It will be sold as a gift set and it will include 2 new interchangeable extra faces, 2 drills and gun.
We still have no concrete information about price or release date, but stay tuned with TFW2005 for more updates. Click on the bar to see the mirrored images and then join to the ongoing discussion on the 2005 Board!

Yeah, the main complaint was that keeping those for the toy deco was a really stupid move when they already had toy accurate legs to begin with. Makes absolutely zero sense.

Got my EU set yesterday. I love the colors, but some of the joints are looser, particularly the combiner torso’s lower and crunch, but it’s nothing some floor polish can’t fix. And the tampos? *chef’s kiss*

Ah ok, now I understand

I think the complaints (mine included) are that the toy deco version of Hook has the new toon style legs. And we can't keep the toy style legs from the original version because they are a different colour!
DickDastardly00
I read many complaining about Hook's new leg. As far as I'm concerned it looks perfect to me, cartoon style like the other Newage models. By the way, if you want you can always keep the old legs which are made in toy style and not in cartoon style

Oh yeah don't get me wrong I love them and am happy I have them, but when you put one of the individual bots next to a cyclops or Scaramanga it just feel like they are missing something.

I like my set but I don’t disagree about the paint, though coating everything would probably have bumped up price by ten to fifteen percent. I also think each bot and the combiner skeleton could have used a bit more panel lines, greebles, mechanical detail in strategic spots. I know it’s going for toon simplicity, but maybe they’re steering too hard into that lately, they’re losing scale and alt mode realism now.

My first experience with the mold(s). It's pretty good (with Hook being the only bad figure). I do feel the individual bots aren't on par with the other 'voyagers' by New Age. No alt hands or heads. Less articulation in the head (most of them can't look up, Hook can't even turn) and more hollowness. But these are all minor gripes. The one thing that makes these less NA is the lack of paint. There's just too much bare, flat plastic. It really brings this set down. Especially after Ymir and Tyr who had excellent paint. I do hope NA will do a premium toon version of these with paint instead of the flat plastic.

In your second pic there’s that gap above where the shovel part clips in. The metal pin that the clip attaches to slides up into the gap along with the shovel part.

Regarding installing the upgrade parts on mixmaster:
The video that shows the installation of the upgrade parts indicates that you can install the screw simply by fully bending the ab crunch joint. But when you bend the ab crunch fully, you can’t push straight down on the screw because the mixing drum assembly gets in the way. — I was starting to think I was going to have to punch out the pin that attaches the backpack/mixing drum in order to get it all screwed together…
… until I realized you can get at the screw by straightening the ab crunch halfway and poking the screwdriver through a gap in the back assembly.
Just thought I’d mention it in case anyone else is having a hard time getting the screw installed all the way, since the video is a bit unintentionally misleading on that point.

Where’s the slider? I don’t see anything like what’s shown in the instructions.
Phase Sixer
The piece is on a slider and needs to be slid out instead of manhandling it like it’s just on a swivel like emgo does on his video.

Oof. Sorry to hear this happened to you!
If you’ll allow me to learn from whatever happened to you: what’s the “warning” that New Age gave? I don’t know about it, and I’d hate to break my figure!

If nobody has suggestions, pm me.

Didn't realize until I opened it that the G2 alternate faces are a flat grey that's different from the silver on the default face. Even though it's the same two-tone effect as the original toon version and more show accurate for most eps, will probably stick to the default silver.

OMG the transformation for the upgraded legs!
Phase Sixer
Man, I was following Emgo’s just transform it video and stupidly broke Bonecrusher the exact way that NA warned us all about
The broken clip isn’t completely sheered off yet, if anyone has a fix I’m all eyes.
I did contact showz about a replacement part though.

Anybody have specific instructions on how to change the hip ratchets? I took screws out, but nothing seems to come apart.
