Transformers Beast Wars Kenner Vintage Collection Evil Predacon Retrax 220801 | eBay
VorZorV
Does anyone know when these go up for preorder?
DocSeth81
I have Wolfang but not k-9. So I'll probably get K-9
Dinocon93
The 97 seven line had way too many bug characters, Retrax and Transquito were complete waste of plastic in my opinion. Lost World was out during that time so you would think they would make more Dino preds during that time.

He'll, I just want a new Core Insecticon and Claw Jaw. Those figures were amazing and would translate really well in to modern figures

Hell even Rattrap is on clearance on Walmart.com
All the Beast Wars Reissues will eventually go on clearance. Kids won't buy them in droves like generations, they're meant for people like us primarily

Retrax was one of the first BW figures that I bought when rediscovering Transformers as a college sophomore. It was one of the few disappointing moments of the whole BW line, IMO. Retrax is also one of the very few figures that I currently don't have from the line and I actually regret selling it now. I wouldn't complain about a reissue but I don't think it would do much for the brand to have that weird, frustrating bot falling into new hands.
I MUCH prefer @T-Hybrid 's idea of a new Core Class release. It was really the limitations of the engineering of the old figure that made it a stinker. If he was just better articulated or just had a slightly more compact way of hiding the beast mode, that figure would be much more favorably remembered, IMO.

I know shelf sightings aren't indicative but Blackarchnia, Waspy, and Scopy were some of the longest lasting figures on shelves. Boys like bugs, but right now there's also a big resurgence in dinosaurs thanks to stuff like Power Rangers, Jurassic Park, and even Paw Patrol (who went from that to dragons).
And while kids can like bugs and dinosaurs, kids also have a habit of jumping from one thing to the next and going all in. So if they're big in to dinosaurs bugs will fall by the wayside.

What kids do you know? Bugs and Kids are insanely popular, I mean come on, there's an entire massive army of bug Pokemon that kids adore. No way bugs don't sell at retail.
Hell I had a Creepie Crawlers oven thingie back in the day and I loved it, Army Ants were awesome and the other bugs were the best.
Jesus if I knew it'd be tougher to re-collect them I never would have sold off my BW Preds. Power Pinch, Drill Bit, Manterror, Retrax, Jetstorm, they were my jam. (Waspinator and Tarantulas were the deluxes I never got or their repaints until the 20th anniversary line, so my team was a solid bug infested romp of terror.)
Jetbolt
GPS wise, my figure hasn’t had any issues as of yet. Unfortunately the brown antennas are on the verge of breaking.

I mean… knock on wood… my copy hasn't so far but yeah I've read a lot of people saying it does.
T-Hybrid
Wait shit Transquito has that problem?! I thought I was familiar enough with the line to know who the BW culprits were. Wish I would've known *before* I packed everyone up for our move.
Oniconvoy
A lot of the Predacon bugs aren’t likely to receive reissues. Bad guys don’t sell as well, and bugs really don’t sell as well.
Unfortunate, but that’s been the case time after time across the past few decades.
DracoPrimal
Transquito is an amazing figure. I love her (yep, her…) triple changer function. Like, ok, it's not a perfect whip scorpion, but its a helluva lot better than B'Boom's third mode of… MegaMan X intro-level-boss-looking gerwalk-tank… thing. And whip scorpions are super cool.
The GPS is unfortunate… I'd buy a "reissue" of the exact same toy done in a new deco. Primarily black would be a good choice for both beast forms.
T-Hybrid
If we've learned anything from retail releases, that mindset is definitely the minority.
I'd settle for them "reissuing" Shadow Panther and Nightprowler as limited runs.
Scrapper6
Not to me it isn't, I need a 1:1 ratio when it comes to heroes vs villains, so I'll take a new Retrax re-issue, or like I said, Shadow Panther finally on a US Card. Anything to get more damn Predacons released, and they already gave us Cheetor and Tigatron with the mold.
T-Hybrid
Meh. "Even" is irrelevant. Sell the toys that people will buy and if that means certain deep cuts never come back then so be it.
Scrapper6
While true, I'm afraid the Predacons have so few options he's kind of a necessity to keep the sides semi-even.
I agree though, Retrax and Transquito were notorious shelf warmers and re-issuing them might be a stretch. I'd still like to get versions where the spring loaded gimmicks haven't suffered due to age and junk, plus Transquito's brown parts were fragile and prone to breakage.
