Courtesy of the Sunbow and Marvel Script/storyboard Archive we can share for your another great piece of Transformers history: The storyboards of the classic G1 episode “City Of Steel”.
This copy was previously owned by show director Nelson Shin and sent to the notoriously low-budget studio AKOM to be animated. This episode is well-remembered by the only appearance of the infamous Alligaticon, the alligator drone made from from the remains of a disassembled Optimus Prime.
You can see and read the full storyboard (and more) in the original Sunbow and Marvel Script/storyboard Archive post. Be sure to click on the discussion link below and share your impressions on the 2005 Board!

Truer words have never been spoken, my friend.

It is a crime committed by criminals that every figure with an alligator (or crocodile) alternate mode has not gotten the repaint in Optimus Prime colors it deserves.
AlphaCentauri
The prelude to Beast Wars
Pteraxadon
Best alligator in the transformers franchise hands down

Yeah some times ago I wondered if somebody would actually ever made an alligator Prime toy, since it’s so random. I can’t believe now it actually exists

It also inspired Fansproject Positum in 2015 and the upcoming Super 7 Ultimates toy.

Thank you both for sharing this material on our boards!

Enjoy, everyone! Happy owner of these storyboards here, but also in favour of unlocking this material to fellow fans. Greebtron is doing us all a great service with the script archive.
Alligaticon Prime – the stupidest idea ever, or secretly kind of cool? I know that it stuck with me for a long time, watching that episode as a li'l Marco way back when…

With thanks to @Chthon, the Sunbow Marvel Archive now hosts the storyboards for G1 episode City Of Steel. This copy was previously owned by show director Nelson Shin and sent to his notoriously low-budget studio AKOM to be animated. Are the boards visually superior? You be the judge at: The Sunbow Marvel Archive: Transformers storyboards: City Of Steel
