Indeed. Not at all surprising. I mean these crossover are something I've bitten into quite a bit of them.

Regret the Jurassic Park set though… Esp now that it's on clearance. Doh. Maverick also idk… hope they retool the JP Jeep bot and the Maverick Jet some time to other figures… Latter is great for G2 Cyber jets.

I'm not big on GI Joe and TBH I really don't see the sort of engineering on these like we've been seeing im the WFC trilogy and Legacy lines tho.

It would be interesting to get Transforming GI Joe vehicles at a Transformers Legacy scale. I think the robot mode could be improved by not worring about the alt mode holding figures like the regular 1/18 Joe vehicles.

When this line was rumored, I thought they would fit Titan master sized figures.

3.75" compatibility heavily limits the choice of alts and longevity of the line. It also eliminates easy retools. Like Snapdragon retooled as the Black Raven. By going with the existing characters they also guarantee a lack of color cohesion for 90% of the vehicles, Only Hound and Soundwave would make sense color wise.

So I hope the idea is popular enough to revisit at Titan master based scale.

Same these wouldve been great if they were made like a decade or 2 ago when everything wasnt so expensive. I feel like this subline wont last long due to them being limited to the smaller vehicles and even then these smaller vehicles are closer to the triple digit territory.
If they made these in the chug scale they could do a skystriker starscream or rattler powerglide something that i dont see hasbro making in the current line.

I’m not into Joe, but the Megatron hiss-tank looks nice.

The way I see it, these aren't Transformers that turn into Joe vehicles, they're Joe vehicles that happen to be Transformers. It's semantics, but there is a distinction. Both got revealed during Joe streams not Transformers, both put a greater priority on accuracy to the Joe vehicle and compatibility with the Joe line and they are out of scale with any previous Transformers releases in recent memory. Given that there seems to be a greater focus on the Joe end of the collab, I don't really expect all the bells and whistles associated with the Generations mainline figures.

Interesting. When discussing the vehicle, I find I agree with you, despite the fact, when discussing character choices earlier, I argued much the opposite (I argued that Bumblebee… a major name was chosen, despite Stalker… a lesser-known Joe, because they were targeting Transformers fans first and foremost).

But if I alter that thinking to suggest they're targeting casual Transformers fans (expecting that the die-hard Joe fans both know Stalker, and would require the accurate vehicle mode), perhaps it still works, and is more in alignment with your thoughts articulated here.

Maybe we can all meet least half way and go with G2 Beachcomber. That way, at least there is still some green, but it also stays in line with an established character that actually has that alt mode:

These crossovers with GI Joe this far feel like steps backwards in terms of engineering. And they're more expensive too, fetching commander price for this figure? Can't say the Megatron looked all that great either…

Nice! I am curious to see it in the ECO Striker colors, plus I think that would ultimately be the best version of this mold.
Still, even strictly in the original AWE Striker colors, this would still be perfect as Beachcomber with the right head and the yellow parts in silver & blue.
