The official Hasbro China and G-Shock Weibo accounts have posted up our first promotional video of a new Transformers x G-Shock “Back To The 80’s” collaboration.
Transformers now team up with popular Casio G-Shock watches bringing a retro style decoration with colors inspired by Optimus Prime, Megatron and Bumblebee. There are also some colorful promotional art images of each watch (thanks to Uranusdd Uranusdd on Facebook) that we are sure will please your optics.
To top it all, thanks to ks_time_store on Instagram, we have picture of the G-Shock Optimus Prime and Megatron revealing that they have the face of each character engraved in the steel back of each watch. But there’s more then meets the eye here, since they will come with a “Cybertronian” round case for you to store your watch.

If the watchs actually had some sort of TF iconography on the facing, I might be interested, but it feels like a needless, meaningless tie in to try and eek money from the fanbase, without them actyually putting any thought into thr design beyond \'make it yellow/ silver\'

The ball casing doesn't look Cybertron to me, more like the Bayverse's Allspark cube turned into a sphere. And Megatron should come with planet Unicorn instead. Very lazy attempt compared to the previous effort.

No Soundwave? – No reissue of the official club watch from the 80's? Lost opportunity! I am also curious if the batteries are easy to replace / are standard vs. unique. Some of these are more troublesome than they are worth once you pop'em open…

Yeah, back when I wore watches on my wrist the G-shock I got for Christmas was a godsend as any other watch would've not made it with how much it got banged against walls and things.

The word that comes to mind is "garish." The Megatron watch is the least offensive.
I'll stick with my Timex "Pac-Man" watch (although I had to replace the band because the clasp snapped off and Timex's warranty is a joke).
To each their own, of course. Shouldn't have to say that, but don't want someone jumping down my throat for expressing an opinion….
