Long time Transformers artist Don Figueroa have been updating his Twitter account with several pieces of his unused concept art he drew for the an unpublished Dreamwave’s Transformers vs G.I. Joe comic.
All designs are ideas of the Autobots and Decepticons as World War II vehicles. We have very creative alternatives for the vehicle modes of our beloved robots. We have a nice gallery to share with you with several new pieces and some we had seen before but in better quality.
- WW2 Ironhide
- WW2 Prowl
- WW2 Megatron (Luger pistol)
- WW2 Soundwave
- WW2 Ratchet
- WW2 Starscream
- WW2 Ravage & Laserbeak (grenades)
- WW2 Optimus Prime (Dragon wagon, transformation based on Gobots Road Ranger)
- WW2 Silverbolt
- WW2 Skywarp/Thundercracker
- WW2 Superion

A real visual pleasure to see this material. Not much left to say, so see all the mirrored images after the break and the share your impressions on the 2005 Boards!
Rodimus Prime
He looks more like a gobot, to be honest.

I wouldn\'t mind having these as figures

Oh wow, didn't even know those variations on the GMC existed! Good eye!
As for the Jeeps, interesting differences between the WWII and post-war Jeeps. Thanks for sharing, mate!

This is a treasure trove of found sketches. Would love to see a self published collection of these at some point!
Chadderbug
Pretty sure he was hardly an artist. The guy simply plummeted DW down to the ground for his personal benefit. Tch, no wonder he's into NFTs as of late rofl
Darkwolfgreywhite
Don't like anything in the art.
BATTLEMASTER
I'll add to what others have already said. I am a complete military vehicle nerd, so much so that my '95 AM General M35A3 has pretty much replaced Transformers as a hobby for me. After all, diesel fuel and truck parts cost about as much as Transformers these days!
Onslaught – Either a T54 or T60 40mm Gun Motor Carriage, an American halftrack variant
Hound – Should really be either a Ford GPW or a Willys MB. The WW2 Jeeps have a noticeably different grill design than the post-war license-produced CJ-3B that made up Hound's alt mode in the original cartoon:

Also, the WW2 Jeeps had their fuel filler cap under the driver's seat, not on the body like the post-war Jeeps. Just a couple of many differences!

Pat Lee was horrendously overrated. Just awful as an artist and as a businessman.

Skybound, it's your first chance to have a good start!
FORT MAXie
There was the 3D comics 3 issues and the how to draw Issues 1 thru 4 (both during marvel time) and some Image thou mainly G1joe vs TF stuff in the same time Dreamwave and IDW were going on. And my guess now Image is taking over.
Beastbot X
I know that's not the comic with the designs we're talking about, but man, I just thought of Unicron showing up in that WWII comic. He'd HAVE to have a Hitler 'stache.
Joburg Guy
I never read the Dreamwave stuff but there are some really lovely imaginative ideas here, love the cassettebot \'grenade\' forms. Rather apt.
misfire19d
No one worth mentioning.

Please Don, come back to Transformers. We need you. Transformers needs you.
These designs are absolutely gorgeous and I will buy anything that uses them.
protostar8
3rd Party companies just started foaming at the mouth with excitement. XD
PlanckEpoch
WWII?
The alt modes where specifically a T34/76, PzKpfw VI Tiger, a P51D Mustang, and a J7W Shinden!
Skylanderformer
mmc, get on this.
SpaceWarp
Huh, make sense, thanks man.
CannonBlaster
He has posted a tweet saying he hopes 3rd party companies aren’t watching these
