Via Toy Bro on YouTube we have a nice set of in-hand images of the new Super 7 Ultimates Transformers Optimus Prime.
This figure is part of Super 7 Ultimates Transformers Wave 1 action figures together with Banzai-Tron, Ghost Of Starscream and Action Master Bombshell. Optimus Prime is sure a big figure, taller than Ultimates Banzai-Tron and with a very nice sculpt which really catches the classic G1 cartoon design. Articulation is a mix of wide and limited range of movement with good poseable parts like the shoulders or ab-crunch and limited poseability in the elbows and upper legs.
We also have a closer look at the plethora of extra accessories which besides the usual Matrix (but with no opening chest in the figure), gun and energy axe and jetpack, it also includes a toy-inspired extra head, a Spike figurine, and a cartoon-inspired an energon net, a surfboard and a basketball. We also have comparison images next to Legacy Voyager Bulkhead and figures of other franchises. We can see that Optimus is quite a tall figure even compared with other Ultimates toys.
Check all the images after the break, as well as Toy Bro video review, and then let us know your impressions on the 2005 Boards!

Ooh this is also a good and much more interesting guess lol.

I was thinking maybe cassette minions for Soundwave. Use that smaller body frame now that they are doing things like kids from the Simpsons and Animaniacs

Character link… Now I haven't listened yet (will later) so just going off what you said…
It's totally just going to be a Seeker repaint.

Brian Flynn interview.
Transformers update and 4 figures in wave 5 confirmed with some character link between wave 4 and 5.
Missing Sunset
Starting to feel more optimistic about the possibility that they’re changing the designs to restrict articulation less. No one is allowed to tell me why I’m wrong.

Well, BBTS pushed back Bludgeon until November. Apparently Super7 has a lot of damn tools to review.

I really like Prime. The look is nice but the elbow bend is really bad unfortunately. They apparently fix it on the Dead Prime.

Due to some oddities, the last toy I ordered ended up being the first to arrive.
Bombshell's fun. I'm really happy that he can interact with Needler, although the little dude's pretty expressive on his own thanks to the neck. This is probably going to set me up to be a bit let down by Razor-Sharp when he arrives though.
Articulation's honestly alright, although the shoulders are a real sore point. I was pretty let down at first because I didn't think there was a thigh swivel, but mine was just a little stiff out of the box (and is fine now).
Overall, I still wish these were more articulated (even if it wasn't all the way to revoltech levels), but I'm very happy with the look and feel. I think I'll enjoy Banzai-tron and Bludgeon too when they arrive, although I feel like the articulation limits might hit harder on them as they are a martial artist and swordsman…

Review the damn tools already! Man-child needs a Bludgeon shaped pacifier here!
Tom Petty was right, the waiting is the hardest part….

Looks like Super7 is not done with 4 figure waves yet, or four figure wave prices
The Simpsons Ultimates! Wave 3 Set of 4 Figures (bigbadtoystore.com)
Still PO'd as soon as I saw them.
Nemesis Otaku
I’d KILL to have an Autobot Spike/X.
DubV
Much obliged!

Super7 put up Ultimates Toxic Crusaders yesterday and it's another three figure wave. Two is not a trend, but I wonder if it could shape up to be? Like maybe three figure waves is Super7's new norm with them not wanting customers feeling bogged down with $200+ preorder after $200+ preorder? I hope it's that and not the Transformers brand not doing so well for them. NEED an Ultimates Alpha Trion, Teletraan-1, Autobot Spike, and the throne made up of Autobot parts from the episode "Triple Takeover".

It’s June! Where’s my Bludgeon!?
Hoffman
Yeah, but they've done 'outside the line' figures with other properties, and they've still been in addition to standard 4 figure waves.
There's also the fact that this wave is significantly accessory reduced.
I think it's noteworthy…but not worth drawing conclusions…yet.
Nemesis Otaku
My tin foil theory is that they’re planning a huge figure like Sgt. Bananas in their TMNT line. One that would cost more than the standard $55, maybe a… Jetfire? Considering the MP just went up for preorder, Super 7 might be waiting to show off yet another Jetfire. Idk, there’s definitely something odd at having 3 figures in their 4th wave.
Hoffman
I don't think S7 has ever split up a wave announcement.
It's also worth noting that this wave is 3 A list characters. That is very unusual for S7.
It's not enough go conclude that the line is underperforming, but there are a lot of elements of this wave that does suggest that maybe it's not selling as well as they anticipated.
Robogeek28
Perhaps.

Maybes there’s more to come?
