Third Party company Fans Hobby, via their Facebook account, have shared an extensive gallery of the test shot of their upcoming MB-19 Doubledealer.
This is Fans Hobby’s take on the double agent Transformer for the Masterpiece scale. The images show a test shot made from actual molds. We have clear images from different angles of the robot, vehicle, bird mode and the two Powermaster partners. We have some comparison shots next to other Fans Hobby figures too for those wondering about scale.
See the mirrored images after the jump and then let us know your impressions on the 2005 Board!

I mean it did sell out at multiple retailers, but Tfsource had that guy in stock as late as last year. So I guess it could go either way?

Idk how well did that megateon from twinferno do? Seems about an even comparison?

So what are the odds we get a powermaster Megatron out of this guy? It'd kinda be a deep cut, but I'd love one

I said it in another post but it is hit on in the post above mine. Doubledealer is horribly noncongruent in alt modes for a multichanger. The bird mode from truck on the original looks like a horrible afterthought. I think, rightly so, Fans Hobby expended great effort to make the bird mode much more organic looking and less boxy. Look at the other changes. Fans Hobby compromised the wing shape to fit the constraints of filling out the truck panels on the side. Look at the contours and what ultimately goes where. You always have a geometry problem and if you don't do this and go back to original G1 toy you have a boxy overall design and keep needing to move a square boxy armature.
We would have expected more out of the wing design on the G1 toy and its prior simplicity is what made it possibly to neatly store beneath the vehicle.

While the wings being so panel-y might not look the best in some cases, I think it is going to be some of the most poseable and expressive wings on a TF. I really feel like you could get some good mid-flapping poses and not just the usual gliding pose.
I'm also interested in seeing them in color too. Grey protos always bring out the details and panel lines the most – I feel like they may be more subtle once colored.

I am really tempted by this figure, the only part that bugs me is the wings. I get why they are made of a bazillion little panels, but even the G1 toy had a nicer overall wing shape at the end, these look shapeless and weird.

Anyone else this figure is way too big? In Masterforce, hes around the same size as the Headmaster Jrs, but here, He’s taller than the Powermaster Optimus inner robot (who is already taller than MP-10…) Plus, they should really stop with the doofy looking missile guns for DD toys and just give him a normal rifle…

I understand what you felt.
I own Earth Rise Doubledealer and it is worth for its price. Well, to be honest if Hasbro put maybe 10$ – 15$ more to that mold, it would become perfect Doubledealer.
Sadly, there are many small nitpick that make Earth Rise Doubledealer … I don't know the right words for it … a bit mundane …
It is better than Generation Doubledealer, definitely but for definitive Doubledealer? Well no.
Doubledealer is one of my favourite multi-changer transformers. Maybe in my top 5 transformers. So to get a perfect Doubledealer is my long dream.

I guess I am the opposite. I am a G1 MP collector only but like you I thought Earthrise Doubledealer was decent and never had an original copy. I considered purchasing it because I was almost certain 3P would never get around to the MP version. So glad I waited because this version blows it away for me. I definitely see where you are coming from but adding in the original purchase price of the figure and the upgrade kit I would rather spend that money on the MP and get it all.

After doing some research, I discovered that Doubledealers powermaster Knok and Overlords Godmaster Giga have a very similar engine block design.
As far as this FH Doubledealer toy goes. I think it's interesting. It looks good in all Four modes.
Noticed some didn't like the way the back wings fold up for the Autobot robot. Clearly some have options to configure the wings into that Decepticon robot Transformation.
Thing is, while it is a rare occasion. I think Hasbro created a really good update toy for Doubledealer in Earthrise.
With the upgrade kit leg extensions and fillers. plus the retail 2 pack of cassette Powermasters . Makes this toy more perfect. Thus making a 3rd party FH Doubledealer even harder to buy.
Kaynowa
Its a made up mode for this toy. It looks like they put a face in the bird head similar to Divebomb, but that's new to Doubledealer.

Hellooooooooo nurse! A purchase right there!
OrangeDraft
So he become quadruple changer now? I bought that idea.
Can someone enlighten me, what is his second head refer to? I don't remember Doubledealer appear with that head.
Scourgatron
Ehhhhhhhhhhhhhh
Ah, I see two heads. Good.
Nemesis Compactor
Alternate not mode is a clever idea. Overlord feels awkward bargaining with a bird
luckyman76
I am just so damn impressed that they got the second bot mode out of this. You can tell a lot of love went into this figure.
Nova Maximus
He has joints in the upper parts of his legs, so in the standard configuration he'll have a 90 degree knee bend. Turning the legs around then gives him a different set of knee joints.

Also comparisons between the 2 bot modes.

It seems there might be a knee articulation problem in robot mode. Specifically, it kinda looks the knee joints don't function when the truck wheels face the front (as per original G1 orientation). We've already seen from grey renders the shins rotate at the knee so when the wheels face another orientation, knee movement is functional. But I could be wrong of course!
Nova Maximus
This looks absolutely goofy as fuck, but in a really good way.

ya.. was thinking the same thing… either head is too big or legs too short.. looks totally off
