Pretty much everybody uses 3mm stand attachment points. So pretty much any Japanese figure stand should work.

I don't have FM Windblade so i can't say if the figure shares a hardpoint for Gundam or Figma bases.

Also, what's a good figure stand for Flame Toys Windblade? A typical Gundam stand?
Fallout
eugh lio convoy's got the same not-gold as windblade, that looks bad. i like how he looks otherwise but i'm not getting fooled into buying another poorly made kit so i'll wait for reviews on this one.
Acteon
For my Windblade, I kept it very simple. I picked up some Tamiya spray cans and, covering up any limited paint detail, sprayed everything on the sprues. A good set of nippers should mitigate any sprue marks, and use a little plastic grease to allow for the additional friction caused by the paint.
Scyla
You mean the butterscotch plastic?
SPLIT LIP
That gold plastic looks bad but otherwise it's badass. I was going to paint it anyway so it's not an issue for me, though I do wish the claws on the feet were parts separated.
Scyla
That looks more like the Furai Model model-kit to me.

Finished building Windblade this weekend. I really like this figure. Its face sort of reminds of 2B from Nier: Automata. Stoic, cute, sexy.
I have some model kit experience with Gundam, Tamiya and several other armor. The build process is pretty standard. Aside from nippers and an exacto knife, I'd recommend 400 grit sand paper. As the ball joints are really tight to pop in. I have no plans to paint this figure post-build. So, I'd recommend painting before assembling. But be warned, some spots are really thin and tiny to paint. I'm pretty sure this kit requires an expert painter.
Other than that, this figure is really great. Sacrifices the jet mode for a good poseable figure. I mean, she can stand on one foot, a high heel design, and do this:

Thanks. I'm not gonna start with her. I'm deffo gonna grab a gundam from target and start smaller.

If you’re just getting started then I STRONGLY recommend you get a “throwaway” kit or two for you to practice and experiment on before jumping straight into it with something that you’d be really upset about messing up.
Some fundamentals you might need/want that the videos might not cover:
Sanding sticks in at least a few different grits to smooth any mold or sprue flash.
Nippers for easy removal of parts from sprues.
An exacto blade for flash trimming/removal.
If you don’t already have brushes, I highly recommend the Ghost hobby brush set. It was originally a Kickstarter and can now be found on eBay and other places. Very solid and reliable brushes in my experience.
A couple more easily overlooked items: brush soap/cleaner and a wet palette.
I’ve found this to be excellent for cleaning brushes after a project session: https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B001TNR7VM?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title
A wet palette is really cool, it keeps your paint fresh for hours while you’re knocking a project out. The best part is that you don’t need to buy a pre-made one, you can easily make your own.
All you need is a square sponge(no scouring surface), a square plastic container, and parchment paper(it’s in the same place as aluminum foil).
Depending on the size of the container, you can fit one or more sponges in it(you might need to cut one in half). You prep the sponges by saturating them and adding enough water so that just a bit rolls around the bottom of the container. You cut a piece of parchment paper to be a bit smaller than the surface area of the sponge, saturate the paper with water, then lay it on the sponge. You’ll want to gently scrape the parchment to remove any surface water and major air pockets/bubbles and you’re ready to paint.
Sorry if this threw a lot of info at you, lol. Good luck!

I started painting a few years ago and I found loads of youtube videos for complicated stuff but no-nonsense beginner videos are actually tricky to find. So here are the ones I found most useful. These are all probably quite old & low quality compared to new stuff, so there might be newer/better stuff out now. TBH though, I think when I started the main thing was to just get to the info and not get confused by youtubers who love the sound of they're own voice
This is a pretty basic video but I remember finding it super helpful for beginner shopping list. She uses basic stuff, instead of going straight to top shelf which I appreciated as a noob. I wouldn't recommend the channel, its quite difficult to sift through. Her tutorials are really good (check the one of camo painting) but few and far between. It seems to be mainly hauls and reviewing weird rare things so not really what I'm into.
For 'how to' I used the G Weapon Workshop videos. Really easy to follow. I wish they did more but I think they must have lost interest.

When I got more into painting the Zaku Aurelius channel has some good videos on painting. I think its probably the most popular gunpla channel on youtube. He's more of a reviewer & builder so he's very talky and tends use only really good/expensive stuff, but he's a really good source of knowledge. He's also an accomplished builder so great for inspo
Hope this was helpful!

YouTube is actually a really good resource for this. Lots of tutorial videos for GunPla customization.

Hey guys, I’d like to paint up wind blade and start painting my gundams. I have about 10 gundams and they’re all unpainted…
Is there a guide I can use to get started? What paint would I get? Etc. Thanks!
