Via their Facebook page, DNA Design has revealed their new DK-30G & DK-30U upgrade kits for Generations Selects Galvatron & Unicron Companion Galvatron.
These are redecos of DNA Design DK-30 upgrade kit for Kingdom Galvatron to match the colors of his two new toy deco and reformatting variants. These kits consist of the following new parts:
- Shoulder parts
- Leg extenders
- New hands
- Matrix holder with longer chain
- New face frame with 3 interchangeable faces
- G1 toy inspired gun
- Blast effect
We still have no concrete information about price or release date. A very nice alternative to improve any of your Galvatron redecos for your War For Cybertron display. Check out the images and let us know your impressions in the discussion thread!

I'm curious how many fingers you have. You keep talking about 4 pinned fingers in addition to the trigger finger. That would add up to 5 fingers and a thumb.

I did a full write up of this set which I posted in the General Upgrade Kits thread. I figured it kinda belonged here as well.
Here is the cross-post:
—————————————————————
Just got my DNA DK-30 Galvatron kit last night, and I'd like to add my thoughts to it.
@ziltama gave a very thorough and in-depth review of this kit a few days ago, as he usually does, and unfortunately it did not get the more positve review. Although I cannot disagree with a lot of his points he made, I will say this, there is some redeeming value to this kit. His full review can be found here:

I will add the following:
First and foremost, it should be known that from the get-go, I was only interested in this set solely for the opening hands. As long as I could have Galvatron NOT clinching his fists all the time, that was good enough for me.
With that said, things get a little wonky here. lol
If you could manage to overlook some odd, bizarre and generally weird design/engineering choices made by DNA, then I do believe you will find this set worth it.
The hands:
Like clockwork, PrimevPrime's "rush to be first to market" Review of this set focused solely on what is wrong with the hands, and nothing on how you can remedy this. I'm not surprised by this honestly. But I digress.
True, the hands are terribly designed with the trigger finger being molded in a bent position, while the remaning 3 are on a pin at the knuckle, and mid-way through. They make a fist just fine, but when attempted to open in a relaxed position, it looks terrible….BUT, if you keep the 3 on the pin in line with the molded trigger finger, it looks just fine. (and the hand is open)
Things get funky when you decide to open those 3 digits pinned together further than the trigger finger can go, like this:
Again, would I like to have seen this done differently? OF COURSE! Can you manage it the way it is, and still get an "opened hand"? YES!
(remember, all I really wanted was ANY other option other than CLENCHED)
Faces:
Pretty simple here; you do a quick swap of some of the inner stock head parts, replace a section of it with DNAs, and now you have the ability to swap out different expressions for Galvatron. For me personally, I really, really wanted a different expression for him, over the stock face. So even if this is not done 100% perfectly, it still offers varied expressions.
It comes with a small push pin to use under the chin from the backside to help push off the face, works just fine.
I will say, I was fortunate to not have the same QC issues as @ziltama pointed out in his review. He had some bad mold flash and poor painting on his faces, as well as some mold issues in matching up the two halves of the heads. On my copy, I do not have either of these issues. So your mileage may vary.
The Matrix Chain:
As pointed out, it is indeed comically long. I simply clipped a few links off and reattached the loops. It fits fine now, to my tastes. The instructions do show a way to put it on where you can hide the extra slack behind his spire part, but I wasn't into it.
After shortening it:
It was pretty much hanging down to his space junk before I trimmed the chain. lol
Lastly, the gun is nice, and the blast effect it comes with. (although, I'm not too sure what this is referencing; either way it's still nice)
As for the set, that is all I'm using from it. I never ever had any intentions on making him taller, not sure why people want this when it clearly effects transformation. Anyway, those leg parts stayed in the box, so I cannot comment on those.
In the end, I am very happy with this set. For me, it does everything it needed to do.
HAIL GALVATRON!!!!! (this is exactly what I wanted my Galvatron to look like!)

I put a review here. Not recommended. Definitely not buying the Behold Galvatron version of the kit either.

It's so disappointing. I'm still gonna get it simply because wonky opening hands are better than no opening hands, but all I really wanted were some hands like what Optimus and Hot Rod have.
ziltama
This is classic DNA Design shitty, um, design. They completely overthink simple concepts. Put in features nobody asks for. Implement things in way no one else would do.
Wolfang
I don't understand what the theory was between making the index finger the one finger you couldn't straighten out. If anything, shouldn't it be the other way around? Is there some design or engineering reason that choice was made?
gbm
Yes, kinda.
But the only reference so far is PvP's video, and he opened the remaining 4 wider than the bent trigger finger, and it looked an absolute mess.
I'd imagine if he lined them up more so, while opened a bit, that would look ok. But we've yet to see that.
@ziltama plans to post some photos soon; he is lightyears more thorough, so we'll get a better idea then.

But aren't any articulated hands better than none.
all of the Takara MP TF hands are not articulated that great either.

Does any U.S based site have this in stock yet.
Does any Chna based Ebay seller have this listed as in stock.
I think the first, regular Dk30 upgrade kit will get released first. With the DK30 toy colors and DK30 Unicron-Gslvatron colors being released later.
gbm
Ugh!
All.
I.
Wanted.
Were.
Hands.
That.
Could.
Open.
ziltama
I'll post my thoughts later after using them some more.
I didn't think it was possible for DNA to screw up the hands even more…I was wrong, I was totally wrong. These hands suck.
gbm
I'm wondering if just more common sense hand posing will make them look better.
PvP, in his hurried ways, never even bothered to line up the molded curves of the fingers when he opened them; further making that weird trigger finger look worse. Perhaps as long as all 4 digits are opened, yet curved in the same line (like a KungFu grip) it'll look better than the original tightly clenched fists.
I suppose I'll give it a try just for the faces and the finger, can always sell it.
@ziltama , please keep me posted when yours arrives on how you can make those hands look better with some better posing. Thanks!
Warpshard
I'm torn on them. I like what they do for his proportions in robot mode, but it just makes him too tall in comparison to everyone else, and I can deal with slightly janky proportions if it means he's not standing too tall. Maybe regular Galvatron doesn't get the leg extenders but Selects Galvatron/Galvatron II does, once his kit comes out? It'd certainly be an easy way to differentiate them, doubly so if you deck Kingdom/Legacy Galvatron out with the spire & tap-dancing feet from that one 3D printed kit.
I do dislike the hands, but I don't care about the finger particularly, I just wish they went fully one way or another. The permanently crooked finger feels like it'd be more at home with ER Prime/SS86 Hot Rod style hands, but then his 3 other fingers have the flap articulation like Rodimus.
NemesisJazz
I may be interested in the leg extenders
ziltama
Considering how DNA screwed up the SS BB Starscream hands, I'm not surprised. That being said, these hands still look better than those shitty hands.
Going to get this kit in the mail soon. The leg extenders will not get used. They look totally stupid and even worse in that video review.
Their clear plastic quality is just crap.
Darkwolfgreywhite
I vote for this as the best upgrade kit of the year.
Most kits I see don't include it all like this kit does.
Megatron_X
All I wanted were the hands and the leg extenders but they don't sell it separately. Glad I didn't buy tho.
gbm
DEAR GOD….ALL I wanted this set for was the hands ….and they %(^#(@(%@ that up royally!
Come one DNA! Really with that finger????
