Is Classic Heroes Team the new name for the Rescue Bots line? As someone born in the Transformers desert of the late 1980s I’m a huge fan of Rescue Bots bc of how much more diverse it is than war fiction and I think the designs are cute.

Basically. There was also the Dinobot Adventures subline before this, but I’m not sure if that even reached the US.

Huh. Amazon's had Primal in stock for a while now. I thought everyone knew. Guess I better grab one (because it's adorable!) before they all get snapped up.

Lots of Rescue Bot toys share the same engineering (look at how many use the "oversized hands become front of the vehicle mode" toys), but that doesn't mean they're the same mold. Especially for the little ones, it's helpful not to have to remember a different transformation for every toy– by and large all the trucks in this line transform the same way, all jets transform another way, etc. Both of these are brand new molds.

These are both Rescue Bots but…are they "new" molds?

Yes.

The only RB Grimlock that existed before now was the motorcycle, which this isn't. And there's never been a RB gorilla Optimus Primal.

Thanks to a report in our California Sightings forum by 2005 Boards member Vector Oracle we can confirm our first US sighting of the new Transformers Classic Heroes Team Optimus Primal & Grimlock at US retail.
