Via PrimevsPrime on YouTube we have new in-hand images of the new Transformers Legacy Scorponok (Toy Deco) & Parasite.
Scorponok is a redeco with a new mutant head (used with Sandstorm previously) of the Kingdom Scorponok mold now in toy colors and featuring Maximal insignias on his missiles. Then we have a new purple and black redeco of the Kingdom Waspinator mold. This is based on the Botcon 2015 Parasite (which was a Generations Waspinator redeco). These figures have been rumored to be part of an upcoming Buzzworthy Bumblebee 4-pack.
Check all the images after the break, as well as PrimevsPrime video review, and then let us know your impressions on the 2005 Boards!

In Demand Toys says they will have this set in stock on Friday but they do not yet have images.
I’m going to guess Goldbug is a straight repaint of SG Goldbug but I would prefer a repaint of Runamuck with a new head.

Looks like Parasite / Skywasp comes with the Buzzsaw head too. The TCC was planning on including new heads with the Waruder sets they still had and categorizing them as new characters. Skywasp would have had a new Buzzsaw head (as would the others). It was going to be black with a dark gray head and yellow eyes. The eyes would have the outlines of eyes painted on it like the original Seeker eye stickers for Skywasp. This is where those last day bios came from despite the plans for the new heads falling through.

Would be really cool if they eventually did actual Transmetal designs for the characters who only got happy meal ones

I see exactly what you mean, good point.

If I recall, the first leaked Blackarachnia figures had the alternate face leftover with it, unpainted of course because it wasn't actually meant to be included.
So these alt-heads being painted and properly assembled and etcetera is strong evidence that these are meant to be packed in. Plastic is cheap, presumably, but there's no reason to waste paint on something you aren't giving the customer.
Fenrys
Definitely possible. If it was a tooling all it's own, or shared tooling with the Bumblebee head, then it's possible that the Cliffjumper and/or Hubcap heads were also run or the tooling is done in a way that the heads can be gated off
Purple Heart
I think you are right about that, and it was something I was thinking about earlier, if the Goldbug head was new. But the Cliffjumper head was also just re-used.
Neko-bot77
Without question, Nemesis Primal and BA both had their heads designed and part of the mold layout since day 1, with the Target 4pack deal most likely already agreed upon.
Fenrys
The only heads I can think of in recent memory that were likely newly tooled after the fact are Netflix/Worlds Collide Bumblebee (being created for the Netflix retool of Bumblebee from ER Cliffjumper) and SG Goldbug. The reason I say this is because most molds are created with 2 heads in mind and the ER Cliffjumper mold has 4 heads.
Purple Heart
That…. wasn’t what I was saying at all.
I was saying that people believe a figure having a new head means it requires more budget, and is this more costly. It isn’t because all heads are made when the plastic is enjected the mold.
But, it is true that no heads are “new.” Chances are, the Buzzsaw head was on the original Waspinator sprue and got thrown away/recycled…. Every time. Before anyone comes in and tells me thats cost ineffective, plastic is dirt cheap.
Fenrys
Were the heads released prior to the worlds collide 4 pack? No? Then in the context of the conversation at hand, new is an entirely appropriate descriptor for the heads on Blackarachnia and Nemesis Primal. Nobody claimed the heads were newly tooled for the 4 pack, just that they were new relative to what had already been released. By your logic nobody should be saying that Buzzsaw, Sandstorm or Shadow Panther had new heads.
Purple Heart
“New” heads don’t actually cost anything. They are designed when the figure and are always on the sprue.

Hasbro has always recycled/thrown away the plastic used for the unused heads. So, when factory in “new costs”, a new head really shouldn’t be considered costly…. Because it isn’t, and it’s for this very reason that Hasbro has now realized that instead of just throwing that alternate head away, they can give it too is and we are even happier.
Fenrys
Yep, even the allspark accessory wasn't knew, as far as I recall that was the same accessory from the Netflix spoiler pack #3.
Neko-bot77
My bad. So BB was the only toy in that 4 pack without a new head (Fangry had a new beast mode head)
Fenrys
Nemesis Primal had a new head in the last 4 pack as well
Neko-bot77
In the last target 4 pack they had a good amount of new tooling for Fangry and a new mold head for Blackarachnia. With this new 4 pack the 2 BW characters, despite having 2 heads, don't get any new tooling. Even Goldbug will use the tooling from SG Goldbug. Ransack is the only potentially new mold character, and even that may just be a head. Maybe wings. The thorax COULD just be the transparent purple parts from Kickback
Perhaps with so little new tooling they decided to include alt heads?
Greeman
Especially in these budget-crunching days.
Nope

I'm still skeptical about the inclusion of alternate heads, but at the same time I can't imagine why an unused piece that fell out of a truck would be painted unless it really is meant to be included.
Thundershot
Holy crap! I hope they comes with both heads! Scorponok moreso, as with this guy I’ll be leaving the Waspinator head to be more Horrorcon accurate (the original canceled one was Transmetal Waspinator who more or less had a traditional Waspinator head).
C’mon Ransack… please let a Fangry amount of budget be allocated toward you…
