Thanks once again to TFW’s Jtprime17 we now have news about the upcoming Transformers Legacy Wave 4, which will include the following figures:
Tra Gen Legacy ev Deluxe Cheetor Pr
Product number: F3516
Tra Gen Legacy ev Deluxe Wheeljack Pr
Product Number: F3307
Tra Gen legacy ev Deluxe Stunticon Breakdown
Product Number: F3036
Tra Gen legacy ev voyager Twincast
Product Number: F3059
The first two will be repacks of previous figures, while Breakdown will be another member of the Legacy Stunticon team and Twincast will presumably be a redeco of the Kingdom/Legacy Blaster figure.
Jtprime also notes that the wave’s estimated release date is 1/1/2023 and that there is supposed to be a Core Class Skullgrin in the wave as well, but he has not come across its info as of yet.
We have no images of these at the moment, but we hope to see more on them in the not-too-distant future.

Thanks Amazon…..I think

Just got my email, Breakdown is arriving tomorrow (hopefully, if all the roads and freeways don’t get closed again do to mudslides). Ordered when preorders went live on Amazon, in the US.
MegaGnaw
Yeah, mine is coming January 23.
Ah, I see. I'll check those threads out, if there are any. Thanks.
LeTigre
and of course through all my bitching I failed to notice Breakdown shipped early from Amazon.

That's pretty much it at this point. Reviewers get stuff early, tease what they're able, but there's a line they're toeing that HasTak leave them alone thus far.
Anything bought in store is absolutely fair game though, and some of that is happening with PR over in Malaysia. Dimetro Zord and a few LC figures are already out there but no word from Hasbro here in the US.

Evolution wave 1 is just now coming out, and wave 1 isn't even in stock at most online retailers yet. Give it some time
Fenrys
Because Hasbro reveals things on their own schedule, not the schedule of leakers
TargetmasterJoe
Ahhh, okay.
…So why is it taking Hasbro so long to announce them already? This is like reading the spoilers of a movie or show, but they're taking forever to the actual spoiler bits.
TFXProtector
No. JTPrime means what he says. They're at US ports, have already shipped from Asia, and are awaiting their turn to be processed. The reviewers will get their samples from Vietnam when that region's allotment is ready to go. Heck, they might have 'em and be sittin' on them so they don't get anyone in trouble yet. Or have their channels taken down. No code, JTP is one of the straightest shooters on here.
TargetmasterJoe
Call me a dummy, but I take it "arrived at port" is code for "they're getting shipped and it's only a matter of time before we start seeing in-hand pics of Metalhawk and Twincast from Malaysia/Taiwan/Hong Kong and reviews from PvP, all before Hasbro so much as hints at them"?

Part of me also wonders if retail exclusives are beneficial overall to Hasbro.
It gives them an outlet for repaints beyond Selects while still bringing in revenue. Because they can offload those repaints to retailers it keeps costs down overall and lets them stretch the budget for new molds in the mainlines.
pandastrong
ok, obviously but that’s outside the context of the discussion of Walmart and exclusive partner deals.
Neko-bot77
You've stumbled into a thread that was unfortunately resurrected. Wave 4 of Legacy was canceled, the new items rolled into Evolution.

Good luck with that. The only thing capable of reeling Wal-Mart in is government regulation. The only way a retailer can rise up to challenge their market share is by being even worse.
MegaGnaw
Been a short while since I've been here, have they announced any more Insecticons; Dinobots?
TFXProtector
Not saying they can, just saying someone needs to come along and kneecap Walmart. I hate imbalances of power.
mx-01 archon
Those are the realities of doing business. You either play the game, or you get out.
They play the cards they're dealt. They can't stubbornly hold on to the "old ways" and refuse to change.
The alternative given to them isn't "do it better". It's "don't do it at all, otherwise".
T-Hybrid
That's not because they produce "more than Walmart ordered." It's because they produced what Walmart ordered for the US and then whatever the retailers selling figures outside the US ordered.
Okay, but also Walmart wants exclusives and has the weight to throw around to get them. If Hasbro wants to tell Walmart to f**k off they can, but then Walmart has the purchasing power to freeze them out of stores.
Again, as another person put it simply: Walmart doesn't need Hasbro as much as Hasbro needs Walmart.
Also, the budget for exclusives comes from what retailers are willing to pay to have them. Hasbro ending any exclusivity with Walmart doesn't free those figures up for retail…it means they stop existing.
TFXProtector
Hasbro gets burned simply by dealing with Walmart which bends them over on a constant basis. When TRU was alive (long before their downfall) there was wiggle room. Even Target carries more of their exclusives than Walmart does. Target might be a pain to deal with, sure, but Walmart takes the cake. Between Amazon and Target, they technically could do without Walmart (to a degree, not long term due to Walmart's sheer number), but Walmart somehow always wins the day. I do so love that Dollar General is beating them to the punch in many places. I don't like any company becoming a monopoly or having that much power. Walmart's had it for far too long and Amazon's catching up. It sucks, but I'm just sick and tired of Walmart in general.
They always produce more than what Walmart orders. How else does the rest of the world get the same products? If they only produced what Walmart ordered, no one in Asia, South America, etc would get any of them. Walmart does seem to horde the majority of said orders, but Hasbro has the right to produce as many or as little as they see fit. There are other ways to get these products to consumers, Hasbro's done it in the past. Point is, Walmart sucks and we're all tired of them.

Mmmm, Walmart might have requested a unique mold and a marque character. We don’t know anything about how these exclusivity deals work out but I think it’s safe to assume Hasbro wants to make their large retail partners happy. So it’s doubtful Hasbro would have chosen more Siege Prowl and Siege Ironhide repaints for the Speedia line.
It’s a balancing act. Exclusives are generally despised by collectors but the big retailers really want them. But they don’t want crappy repaints. So what does Hasbro do?
Target and Amazon have both gotten new molds and extensive retools in their exclusive lines. It’s just a sign of the times.
