The official Netflix After School YouTube account have uploaded a new promotional clip of the upcoming Transformers Botbots Cartoon.
This is a new 10-episode comedy series based on the fun Botbots toyline. The new clip gives us some information about the Botbots tribes as well as some name changes for the show: The Toilet Troop is now the Custodial Crew, the Greaser Gang is now the Hunger Hubs, and The Techie Team is now the Gamer Geeks. We can also spot some new Botbots with a very peculiar alt mode.
Watch the clip and some screencaps after the jump. The new Botbots cartoon will debut in Netflix this March 25th! Click on the discussion link and share your impressions on the 2005 Boards!

Still really excited about this.

I don't think I'm the target audience, but I do applaud the attempt to do something with this brand that's not just the same five good guys and bad guys shooting at each other yet again. It seems a bit silly to get upset about this, considering we have so many Transformers cartoons…at this point there's pretty much something for everyone. We have funnier cartoons, more serious cartoons, 3D, 2D, more adult, more childish, etc. It's neat that they're doing something a bit different, and I'm sure a lot of kids will enjoy this. And like I said in another thread, maybe this will pave the way for future cartoons (and even other mediums) to do more out-of-the-box Transformers storylines aimed at a slightly older crowd.

I think I will like this show. They should have had the American Football BotBot character play the Football game instead of the Soccer ball character. It would have made more sense, but still cool/funny.
The mall car race looks cool. I think this will end up being the most fun (non serious) Transformers show since TF Animated.

I liked these characters better before I could hear them talk or emote.
Also, really weird for a soccer ball character to go crazy for a phone app game about American Football, of all things.

Forget it.

Of course those three shows aren't the same.
I mean I want a series at that level of quality.
Also, was TFA comedic? Of course, but it also
knew when to take itself seriously.
It balanced humour & drama very well.
Aberration
*shrug* The humor's fine, I chuckled a couple times at those clips. The varying degrees of detail in the backgrounds weird me out a little, feels like I'm watching something from Newgrounds.
But overall, there's nothing here worth getting upset about. It's not the main line, it's not aimed specifically at me, and I always say that I want the brand to try new things, so I hope it's able to succeed on its own terms.

What if this IS the new animated though?
Weird art? Yes
Comedic? Yes
Transformers? Yes
Also, I'm not sure about Batman but I can assure you Gargoyles and Avatar are nothing alike. And neither of those shows are anything like TFA. Also if this isn't a creative reimagining of Transformers then what would be a creative reimagining in your eyes?
Senator Magnificus
Exactly. Netflix Trilogy was supposed to be that.
I'm a sucker for hype, I always get swept up in.
Then the show premiered…
Botbots though, I'll admit to feeling a little split on.
On the one hand, it's great kids & other people are liking it.
That they've been handed something they find satisfying.
But on the other hand people like me are disappointed since we aren't receiving what we want.
All the time, money & effort poured into Botbots
could've used to produce the next Animated.
A fun, well written reimagining of TF designed
to pump new, creative life into a very stagnant
franchise. Something on par with Batman TAS,
Gargoyles & Avatar The Last Airbender.
That level of quality is what I'm seeking.

I guess you were expecting a high quality series with new characters, new stories and a CHUG-style toy line.
Senator Magnificus
I'd rather take a sledgehammer to the nards than either.
Pixelmaster
It looks fine for what it is, I'd take this over Cyberverse anyday
Senator Magnificus
When I asked for more "originality" in TF, this isn't what I envisioned. :/

My BotBot-loving 7 year old hates the eyes on the new cartoon. She loved the old song from a few years ago. (New Account, or I would post a link)
TF14
It will be released in two ten episode (with two stories per episode) chunks. The first ten come out the 25th, the release date for the second chunk hasn’t been announced yet. I actually think it might be better for us that they’re being split up that way. If it was all being released at once, Hasbro has less of an incentive to start putting out toys again. But this way, Hasbro might start releasing stuff after the first chunk gets people interested again and to raise hype for the second chunk.

So guess this shows us what to expect for those vehicle toy listings – we did have a listing for a pizza, cake and controller.
Curious who that white Botbot girl sitting next to Dimlit was. And there is a pirate-like one?
Kinda expected Lolly Licks to have a valley girl accent. She looks cute.
The phone being addictive to everybody was hilarious. Wonder if it will end with a revelation that the phone was a Botbot too?
Can't wait for next week for this to be released. Anyone knows how many episodes will be released? Will it be like Netflix's current trend that they cut up seasons and release them months apart? I hope not.
It always amazes me when people say this. It's 2022 people. You have not learned to use google yet? There are not one but several places where you can watch toons online, even if you don't just torrent them.
Or just wait for one of Netflix's "free for a month" carrot-on-a-stick events if you are so afraid of pirating stuff (which you shouldn't be, the powers that be just try to make it seem dangerous with all their stupid VPN ads).
