Via Chefatron on YouTube, we have our first in-hand images of the new Transformers Vintage Beast Wars Cybershark Reissue.
This figure is a direct reissue of the original Beast Wars Deluxe Cybershark toy from 1997 with no discernible changes. We have a look at the robot mode, weapons and the hammerhead shark beast mode. A great nostalgia piece for any Beast Wars collector. This figure will be a Walmart exclusive in the US.
Check all the images after the break, as well as Chefatron video review, and then let us know your impressions on the 2005 Board!

Was this guy ever found in Canada? It’s been like almost a year since announcement n I haven’t seen him. The only BW reissues I’ve actually seen are Cheetor, Tigatron, Primal, Megatron, and Scorponok. This guy was the only one I was looking forward to n I still want him.

I\'ve always thought Cybershark was one of the cooler Beast Wars figures, definitely gonna see if I can get my hands on it
MADZN88
This was one of they few beast wars toys I had growing up and I absolutely loved it, hyped to get one brand new again

It's mainly the larger figures that have been extremely overpriced. Though Rattrap at deluxe price point was ridiculous.
OriginalFire
I wish these were cheaper but oh well
Jetbolt
It’s a really cool figure. The expanded toy line had a lot of gems.
Though I’ve always wondered if the designer of the Beast Wars Inferno toy also worked on Cybershark too. Both have toothy smiles.
Silver Snake
Never owned this guy back in the day. Looks sweet, that headsculpt is all GRRRRRRRR I'M SO MEAN!!!!

This reissue looks great! I still have the original like I do with Tigatron. Will likely get this one too since the Beast mode looks a little better here

I'll pay full retail for the dudes who won't/hasn't gotten updates in kingdom/legacy. Then maybe army build if they hit discount
TheAmazingBrave
I jumped on Cheetor, Primal, and Megatron when they were all on heavy discount a while back, but this guy I wouldn't mind paying full retail price for. He holds up extremely well when compared to modern toys. Hasbro made the right decision choosing this guy for a reissue.

I've been leaving most of the BW reissues, as I already have most of the originals, though I have been tempted quite a bit. I did get Rattrap solely to keep in its retro packaging, and might do the same for some others if I find them for a bargain.
Cybershark, however, I think I may buy and open. I already have an original, but missing a few bits, and it would be nice to get a new one with all parts. I'm curious about the plastic quality too. The original Cybershark's plastic, the stuff making up most of the outer shark shell anyway, was stiff and sturdy as FAWK.
SPLIT LIP
This is what makes me super excited for these reissues. I have pretty much every original BW figure, but a lot of people don't, and a lot of people otherwise wouldn't pay much attention to the non-show guys, but now they have a chance to get some of the cooler sleeper figures the line had to offer.
I just hope they keep making them. I want to see more basics.
edgs2099
I don't need reissues of the core guys, as I have the core guys from the long long ago. This? This I'll buy. I never got around to buying ancillary characters.
SPLIT LIP
I wouldn't really say a head taller is "around the same."
I think they're selling fine, or at least reasonably so, they're just massively over-ordered. Cheetor and initially Rattrap sold out at my local Walmart months ago. Then two weeks ago I saw literally dozens of Rattraps all on an endcap. More Rattraps than all of Studios Series/Generations combined. Hell, there may be more Rattraps than citizens of my town. Then Tigatron showed up with I think five units, I bought one, and haven't seen any more since.
Same thing happened at the less local Walmart. At least seven Primal and Megs each, compared to maybe three of any given Leader class.

An Alt mode so good it made this Geewunner stop and rescue him from the discount bin those many years ago! He’s in great shape and I still have his card back, so I should conceivably be able to resist buying him again.
Probably. Maybe.

Lots of energy here, but these reissues are not selling so well (so far). Im not sure there's a big enough BW market to continue these, but Hasbro releases plenty of items that are even less successful!
My point is that nostalgia may have limits in terms of profit potential. But I guess these items help promote the new BW-themed movies, so that's good… Im just reminded of G2 toys selling badly and hurting the brand overall. Hopefully, more people get into these (but the high prices are bad).
Nemesis Scourge
For those fans that are into late 90s / early 2k toys – check this one out if you can! I still got my original Cybershark and he is still an amazing toy.

Buy it, superb toy
