Paramount just issued a special announcement stating that Transformers: Rise Of The Beasts will become the first movie of a new trilogy.
In addition to the live-action movies, the CGI animated theatrical will hit theaters in 2024.
“Transformers: Rise of the Beasts will be released theatrically in 2023 and is the first of three new installments. A new animated series from @Nickelodeon arrives this fall. And in 2024, the franchise expands further with a CG animated Transformers theatrical film. #ParamountPlus”

I still don't understand why the 'Cons never even attempted another cyber attack like in TF07. The humans were completely helpless against it and it's a concept so unique to the robotic nature of the characters.

This news can go both ways. While sure this does reek of Hasbro getting too hasty into announcing future plans this also indicates that they do have a planned story spanning three movies which is a good sign as well. Hopefully in the end this ends up being the latter especially if they're REALLY aiming to make sure to win people back which Bumblebee 2018 did a fairly good job at already.
As for the rumor I'm sorry but that feels too much like a whole of "He tell me!" from what I remember about hearing the first time. I know some people will bring up about the rumors of TLK being true but from I recall it was from an actual reliable source at the time. Besides with the situation Paramount's in they can't afford to have another TLK to happen along with angering both the G1 and Bay fans.
Fallout
don't forget the entire headmaster gimmick for him and cogman that the toys were designed around only for that to not even show up in the movie lol

It was really hilarious how they did that whole TRF pre-release press thing about all of the Decepticons and gave them all introductions in the film, and then literally all of them except for Nitro Zeus died immediately. And how Nitro Zeus lasted longer than Megatron in the final fight, but the producers realized they forgot to kill him so they just had Bumblebee shoot him in the back of the head

see 07 foiled aluminium supremacy
the only time where humans SHOULD have the upper hand is when they've got the upper hand by having something the decepticons have and can't just be forcefully taken by walking up to said goal.
and the decepticons should have some bs spying to bypass the momentary upper hand from the people.
hell even the older bay movies have this:
the decepticons on the 07 movie looking for megs, SPECIALLY FRENZY, soundwave on rotf and dotm, allice and scalpel getting to sam, grindor taking sam to the oil rig, the drones taking sams parents as hostages.
tlk is so wack rotf manages to be better jesus christ thats a low bar

I could've sworn Unicron was specifically mentioned in the Paramount event way back when.
There was nothing witty about Megatron's negotiation. He literally just asks for a bunch of his guys to be released while actors stare at a head on a stick for five minutes, and he can't even get one of them released. He then proceeds to let them openly insult him and then all his goons die anyway so there was absolutely no point to the scene at all.
Megatron using his wits should be, like, actually smart and not a waste of my, your, and everyone else's time. It was poor timing for him to suddenly have a brain when it made no logical or storytelling sense. It made Megatron look like a chump and accomplished absolutely nothing at all.
If you want Megatron to look cunning that was not even close to a good example. Mindless brute Megs still came closer to achieving something of substance than TLK Megatron ever did.

The design of the Terrorcon emblem, it just screams Unicron. Combine this with the attempt at using Unicron as the 'Thanos' for the TFCU by his mentioning in TLK and, well, what else could they build up to? Everything simply dies at the end of each film and the pattern doesn't look like it's going to change here.

I don't understand, when was it ever definitely established that Unicron is what they are building up to?

So Unicron is the end goal, clearly. They tried it once and this time they are trying to do it with more set-up and have him as an actual exterior threat as opposed to burying him in the Earth.
The problem is bringing in Scourge into the first film does not leave you much room to go with the second film in the series because logically you have set-up that should escalate and increase, yet you've already started with a 'herald of Unicron'. You've also already adapted 'Galvatron' to an extent and you've already done 'The Fallen' so neither of those are aspects you could explore again without the general audience getting confused.
The only route I can see them taking is to use the 2024 CGI film to establish the backstory for a more sympathetic Megatron, have Megatron as the villain of a second film slowly losing his mind to Unicron's influence (Which would be a part 1) with the following film having a Megatron who is primarily controlled and manipulated by Unicron who acts as his herald while Unicron's physical form is trying to breach into our dimension from another dimension. Unicron in this continuity being a being that goes through one reality at a time devouring everything in it and then sending a herald as a beacon to find the next reality.
In a similar route, if you are starting this with nostalgia such as the Beast Wars characters, you likely need to end it with nostalgia of an equal or larger scale also. So they evidently need something bigger for the finale, the most likely option being a return to what started this film series in the form of the Bayverse Optimus Prime, a character whose entire universe could have been 'wiped out by Unicron' in order to hammer in the growing threat and enable us the visuals of Unicron being birthed from Earth, of which we were robbed. He would also be accompanied by the Beast Wars characters returning allowing for Optimus (Beastverse) to team-up with Optimus (Bayverse) and Optimus (Beeverse).
It'd be a way of tying in the Bayverse while ending that continuity and allowing Bayverse Optimus Prime to potentially be recontectualised away from his murderous state… perhaps a certain film from December could be used as a basis for how to reintroduce this character in a way that the audiences will appreciate this character more.
The nostalgic nature making logical sense when we consider that the films release dates will likely align with the 20 year anniversary of the first Bayverse film.

That was them aping Suicide Squad thinking it was adding something meaningful to the film. It just cheapened it more.

I don't mind Megatron negotiating with humans. Didn't he team up with a human villain in at least one G1 episode? People complain about 2007 Megatron acting like a mindless rampaging monster, but then say they'd prefer Megatron do an airstrike to break out the Decepticons instead of use his wits. Is Megatron negotiating with humans a bit hokey? Sure, I'd say so. But it's an inherently hokey brand. They need to embrace that sort of silliness more often, or we get generic movie monsters like '07 Megatron, or we get storytellers taking the military tacics way too seriously and making it boring like the Netflix show.
BlaminisPrime
So the Bumblebee continuity will be a 4 movie saga so far. I like it!
TFXProtector
Fair, but it was a funny scene. It wasn't forced, it was just funny and it looked good. The only other funny part in the movie was Cogman. I don't care if one absolutely detests the movie (I'm in that camp) Cogman's scenes are absolutely amazing. I could've watched an entire movie with him and been a heck of a lot happier.
Because it's the most accurate portrayal of humanity in a film composed entirely of fiction. Humans are turncoats when the moment is right. Let's not lie, here, we're a crappy race.
Confused Millennial
Otoh Optimus gets very close to being an outright antihero in the latter movies, and that could also be explained by him getting corrupted by Earth.
Autobot Burnout
Its worth noting that Scourge's alt. mode is a Peterbilt 359, the direct predecessor in the 'role' that the 379 was designed for.
Rodimal Rodimus
I figured, but eh, still part of my headcanon.
Honestly, I wouldn't mind the idea of humans working with Decepticons if it was, like, a terrorist militia group or a mafia-esque mob or something.
Dinobot Snarl
Yes, I'm in, although Bayverse Prime was already tearing off faces and looping heads, it's going to be tough to meaner that that… One thing, multiple sources said he had a fiery beard.
I wonder if the scale difference will factor in…
