I do wish Takara would be clearer or more consistent with when and what it released though. For example, no idea if the Golden Disc guys will get released… and they’ve started randomly pricejacking things like the Selects Galvatron they randomly made ¥9,000. I get this feeling that they think no one in Japan knows how to use the internet to see what people in the rest of the world are buying from Hasbro & at what price…

Thanks my friend!

Yeah, the benefit of TT doing their runs at the tail end is certainly that any issues will have been resolved by then.
Kingdom Galvatron’s misassembled shoulders & SS86 Gnaw’s loose fin being just two recent examples.
And of course, the TT runs don’t have the hideous production codes stamped on the figures.
living in Japan has made me a patient man, and I don’t really mind the wait. Zen as fuuuuuuuuck

My honest conclusion/inference as to what’s going on is that the US side—since they did create the “brand” & “characters” that are Transformers is probably asserting their dominance/priority as owners and therefore making Takara wait until all of Hasbro’s quantities are produced before letting Takara make theirs. (In this post unification era)
The only plus I’ve found so far, is that since Hasbro is I assume beholding to the big retailers like Target & Walmart’s shipping schedules, a lot of the figures lately have been getting released “half baked” with loose parts etc. whereas the Takara versions a few months later are generally tighter and have fewer QC issues—fwiw, I own a few figure duplicates like Cyclonus & Galvatron, and can confirm that their numbers stamped into them are different from US & Japan, so the Takara “versions” are a different batch.
That’s really the only plus though. And I think the time delay really deserves to be shorter—maybe produce half of Hasbro’s quantities, then some Takara, then more Hasbro… will probably never happen tho.
And yeah, still don’t have Waspinator—Tracks was the newest release and Red Alert comes out this month

Ok, this is why April is a big release empty month (and maybe May too)

For those interested in the Japanese releases (which often happen at the end of each month), a lot of items from October, December and January were pushed back to March… so I don't know if more delays are coming with future toys, or if March is a big catch-up month (which will be VERY expensive for some collectors).
Imagine a completist collector in Japan paying for all of this in one hit… there's two Titans, three Leaders, and two Masterpiece toys, just for starters…

@Black Convoy … The list of links in the first post (which has then propagated to the news posting on the front page) has SS Wheeljack noted in the Legacy list instead of TL-03 Autobot Bulkhead.
The link is correct (doesn't need editing), just the name of the product is wrong (need to change it to TL-03 Autobot Bulkhead)… as SS Wheeljack was part of last month's new releases, and has a different product page link here.

I am amazed it took me this long to realise. I don't think they even have Waspinator yet, do they? It makes no sense, especially since as of Siege there's meant to be no separate decos for Hasbro and Takara.
Also 1 of my reviewers finally got Terrorsaur yet I've had him since halfway through December.
Finally, can anyone tell me if the Worlds Collide 4-Pack is getting a release outside the US. Shaking my SMH, Hasbro…

lol I went with the metallic painted KO on Aliexpress that just came out and looks even better than the PF Prime. Well besides that orange flame fade anyway…

According to literally nobody. Everybody knows that the folks at TakaraTomy do the actual engineering work (although preliminary design concepts do often come from the Hasbro side).
It's just that you apparently think the only way to give due credit is to throw the Japanese team a freakin' parade for every little thing they do, or something.

Not according to some people here…

I see people on twitter lament how the selection at toy stores is getting smaller and smaller and they need a cartoon to brings kids in, so you're not alone on that. We kind of mitch and boan about why they aren't making MP this or MP that, its simply not the same level of demand as here.
This was posted on twitter last week is the number of TF fans by country, kind of explains why Takara sees a lot of Transformers sales go overseas, those numbers were up from last year. Also interesting the numbers from China which were less than even Japan, probably a pretty good indicator that the top 3p companies and KO companies are targeting sales outside of China, simply because that's where the best chance to sell stuff is. Hasbro has done some stuff lately with making the trainbot domestic price comparative to the discount price as well as the superior Mall exclusive prices, it would be nice if they facilitated a little more like CS/replacement parts for domestic vendors.

because sadly, its not a very big brand in Japan. Its rare I see kids playing or even looking at Transformers here in Japan ( FROM MY EXPERIENCE ) You see it a bit more around movie releases but thats it.
Pteraxadon
Why are like most transformers figures being released by takara become mall exclusives
Fc203
Ss84 is bumblebee movie wheeljack, the reason theyre ahead of us is because they add the ss86 figures into the ss numbering.
setsuna
SS84 Wheeljack?? It links to Legacy Bulkhead, Typo or Bulkhead's Japanese name? He's not SS84?
Would love a SS84 Wheeljack, battle damaged version of the ER Wheeljack
RodimusZero
Yes, yes it is. And it sucks a LOT. Especially since, oh, I don’t know… they’re all designed and engineered here
CobraKai
That’s great that they used the first Prime mold. Now I’m not compelled buy it. Whew.

Is…is Japan last to get everything?
Apart from Masterpieces, of course.

Hmm, Legacy Skids looks pretty neat in these promo pics by Takara. Me likely!
