Vangelus summons a whole paleontologist from the European frontier to join him and have a conversation about Paleontology, Dinosaurs, and how those two things have intertwined with Transformers.

Theropod dinosaurs had primate-like numbers of telencephalic neurons
Triceradon
Is it publicly available? That sounds fascinating.

New paper out this week on dinosaur intelligence potential showing where T. rex falls. Into the Great ape area, but the interesting thing is a lot of the so called dumb dinos like Stegosaurus are falling into at least a mammalian range of intelligence.

To add to the Raptor controversy, in Jurassic Park they’re shown digging up a raptor in Montana, and to my knowledge Utahraptor has never been found there.
But in 2015, they did name a Dromeosaurid in Montana from the Late Cretaceous, Dakotaraptor, that was not only a contemporary of Tyrannosaurus and Triceratops, its also roughly the same size as the JP raptor.
I understand there’s a bit of controversy as to the validity of the genus, but that still means that there was a Late Cretaceous Dromeosaurid that seems to fit the bill better than any other Dromeosaurid.

Not just any comic, but The Far Side. A legendary single-panel comic from the 80s. If you're unfamiliar with it, look it up. It was one of the best ever.

So the, as Vangelus puts it, chewy and delicious word \"Thagomiser\" doesn\'t come from some kind of science of foreign language thing…
Instead the word comes from a derpy caveman comic?
Okay then…
Still a cool word though.
An Army of Bees
That Bee Army guy sounds like a real tool.

I am so genuinely happy T-Rex is turning out to be awesomely OP. For all the wrong later generations keep finding, it's nice to say they actually got something right saying T-Rex was awesome, and things they thought that made him less cool were wrong.

I love dinosaurs and I've been listening to your podcast for 15 years. This is without a doubt one of my favorite episodes ever.

Snarl is my favorite of the G1 Dinobots; I think it's mostly because how the robot mode incorporates the dino parts. As opposed to Grimlock and Sludge who wear big chunks of dinosaur on their backs or Swoop, who is very boring to me design wise.

I just want to say it is so refreshing to hear people talk about T Rex with enthusiasm and not just to trash on it.

Very cool episode! I’m in the midst of listening to it now. I can admit that I wanted to be a paleontologist until I saw Jurassic Park. Suddenly, that became scary haha. I was also in third or fourth grade. But really, this is so cool! Glad to see you’re back too!

I look forward to listening to this podcast. I really enjoyed the fossilizer toys, even going so far as to compare the pterodactyl figure to real skeletons to see how accurate they were able to get. Fossilizers will be dinosaur skeleton displays as much as they will be transforming toys for me.

Dinosaurs, Transformers, and WTF@TFW updating. Today's a good day.
