TFW2005 member Issy543 brings a March solicitations update to our front page, with commentary from artist Ed Pirrie:
I’ve been given permission from @IDW_David_M to share the cover I did to the upcoming Transformers #41. Hope you like it! Turns out it wasn’t shared with the solicitation just because it hadn’t quite been approved by then. I will say, all of my prior covers have been very much “pose for the camera!” images, so I was very glad to get to do one that had some action to it!
Look for this issue to land March 16th and in the meantime, sound off on the 2005 boards!
In “The Landscape of Fear,” the Crystal City, last refuge of the Autobots, is under siege. But with the arrival of last-minute reinforcements, do they have what it takes to turn the tide of battle in their favor? And what of the other threats to Cybertron-Insecticlone swarms, rust worms, and a great evil reborn?!

Book convinced me to pick up Landmine again.

Totally true!!!
Even without the Brute modes, still great designs.
Say whatever you’d like about the cartoon, but I LOVED the Energon line.
…….. and I actually really liked the toon, but I saw it in its Superlink incarnation with extremely bad and inaccurate subtitles that made it even more fun to watch.
With this comic ending I should go back and at least hit the highlights of what happened in it. I just never quite latched on to the story and what was happening. Plus real life got busy and hard to find time for comics

We need more Brute Mode figures like that.

I'm glad they brought back Energon Landmine.
Loved that figure back in the day, awesome design.

I really liked Jack Lawrence’s art in Lost Light!
I actually may pick this up, even though I haven’t gotten this series past the first arch.
His Pointblank and Sureshot are looking awesome.

The problem is we don't know what they had planned for Razorbeast had the series run longer. Unless I missed something we never saw a body. So he could easily have been brought back at some point with a different attitude as a result of having nearly died *twice* since waking up. Think about how long it took the original series to put a bow on Tigatron and Airazor being abducted.
Hopefully once the dust settles we'll have an opportunity to ask the IDW team what they had planned had it run longer.

IKR? Also, not the biggest fan of his upbeat, chipper deposition. I know, different version, but I liked Razorbeast alot in the Furman mini series. He was a snarky, wisecracking resourceful little planner. Kinda hoping they'd marriage those qualities with the stubbornness & hotheadedness from his old toy bio card.
Downwash
Knowing the series is ending in 4 or 5 issues counting #14 here and the Annual, I think he wound up serving his purpose for the narrative. But I agree, still a bummer to see him gone after 2 and half issues.

He's talking about this cover:
And clearly the artist is poking fun at Japanese Hentai (Do NOT google)

I'm still stuck on them using Razorbeast as a sacrifice for cheap, instant drama. Whatta waste of Mr. Gathering. He deserved better than that.

I love seeing Obsidian on Cybertron with an Earth mode. Just cracks me up a little.
Lore Keeper
The art in the ongoing issue looks pretty fantastic. Are these Malkova's panels? If so, hats off to her! I also love that a combiner is finally getting some action in the main storyline. I just hope they don't pull an IDW 1.0 and kill/disable him as soon as they're able. That was one of the biggest things that bugged me in the first continuity. It felt like the writers begrudgingly included combiners when asked and got rid of them as soon as they could.
