We have even more Transformers Legacy in-hand photos for your viewing pleasure this morning, this time courtesy of chefatron!
Deluxe Kickback is shown off here in both his robot and insect modes, displayed in a variety of poses with his accessories, and is also compared with various other figures including the previous Insecticon molds and other War For Cybertron toys including Buzzsaw and the recently leaked Beast Wars Sandstorm.
Check out the images and review after the break and let us know if you will be adding this Insecticon to your collection!
WishfulThinking
I think it's a good question. Personally, I'm a little bummed it wasn't made a feature as I enjoy the idea of The Insecticons being vehicles as was their original intent pre-Transformers. Maybe it'll see a minor retool to allow for the cockpit along with some wheels for the Diaclone repaints.

This figure ROCKS. I was initially only picking it up out of completionist sake but in-hand– I like it a lot. Great sculpt, nice heft and great articulation with very good joints. Is the transformation dumb? Yes but that's just inherent in the design.
Let's get the other two Hasbro!

Looking at the pictures, it seems like you might have the right idea. I'll check my copy in a bit to see for myself if it's from the tool design or if it's from stress.
Also, flash is excess plastic around the parting line of the part (where the mold halves come together) or at the vents in the tool. Where it comes off the runner is a gate scar or witness mark.
Edit:
Those are stress marks. I couldn't tell much from the pictures that posted, but in person it's much clearer. The gate is on top of the leg piece, to the side of the knee:

So that's not the cause of the mark.
The parting line of the mold goes around the part along the yellow line in this image:

Here's a couple pictures of the mark and an edited one highlighting it in white and the parting line in yellow:

You can see that the mark isn't along the parting edge, so it's not flash.
It's stress whitening, like @TFXProtector said. It's right along the area that flexes the most when assembling the leg, so it makes sense that a stress mark would be located there. It's also in an area that has higher internal stresses from molding. Here's a picture showing how the plastic fills the part overlaid in purple:

The areas where the flow is more radial/circular will warp more and have higher internal stresses.
As long as you don't take the leg apart (like I did for these pictures), the stress mark shouldn't get much worse. I'd be more worried about the side of the rectangular cutout opposite the gate, where the plastic welds back together after flowing around the shape of the cutout. That's going to be a weak spot.

Yes it has been done
No there is nothing behind it
Yes it just flops open if you cut it
Yes it is pointless to do it or talk about it
WishfulThinking
Someone did it on Facebook with an exacto knife. Yeah it can be done but I don't think it'll close back up without gluing – otherwise, it just hangs agape.
Spark
I know that, I pointed it out in my initial post. I'm curious if anyone's tried to cut those tabs or crack the torso since the hinge implies functionality at some point.
Neko-bot77
It's purely cosmetic to recreate the g1 toy appearance. That yellow panel has tabs that go into slots on the sides of the chest. Glue or no glue, those tabs completely prevent the panel from moving.
Skylanderformer
best guess is it was a spring-loaded seat that didn't pass safety tests or they felt like changing the design last minute.
Spether
Others have tried and reported it is glued. The hinge is a mystery.
Spark
Now that this is out, has anyone attempted to crack open the chest and see if there's anything behind the panel? It has a definite hinge and looks like it's only held shut from inside by the two clear plastic tabs in front of the shoulders.

That's cool, until I have him in hand I won't have a better sense of it, and I'm not concerned about it right now. Anyway, I hate the translucent plastic for aesthetic reasons personally, I'll worry about fragility once I've messed with him a bit.

And the lighter areas inside the ball socket?
Here's the thing about nylon, which is what most balljoints are made out of: nylon's got a rough texture. It's going to, uh, polish the inside of any balljoint socket, no matter what kind of plastic it's made out of. It's just a more noticeable effect in translucent plastic, because, well, you can see through to it from the outside. That's a stress mark the same way taking sandpaper to a toy is technically stress.
If you see that inside a balljoint, it means the balljoint's *working*. Without that friction, you'd have a limp joint.

He has them right on the first page of the Feedback thread.
WFC Kingdom Blaster w/ Eject
I have no dog in this race. but those look stressed to me.
ScorponokIsHere
oh so on your toy it's stress marks but on my toy that's where the piece was obviously separated from the sprue
you see, your toy was molded different from everyone else's somehow, its legs were actually from a totally different toolset where the mold flash exists elsewhere, not on the spot where it's obviously mold flash, somewhere invisible
done or not, i'm still gonna need to see some photographs of your magical eject

Theoretically, the budget for Blaster would have been determined by his designated spot, Legacy wave 1. Since Prime Bulkhead is the only other character in the case, any budget differences would be taken out of him.
TFXProtector
Not mold flash, because if you saw my Eject in person, you'd be able to tell they're clearly stress marks, but I'm done and we can agree to disagree to stop further derailing this thread.
On point B and onward, I agree. I feel that poor Soundwave is getting shafted in all forms, here. As you mentioned, none for Siege, and the Netflix one is so rare in most cases that his cassettes might as well not exist. I'm not sure why he doesn't get more love but here we are. I'm very, very impressed that Hasbro was able to fit a Voyager Class Blaster, an accessory, and an entire cassettebot in the box for $31.49 and not even blink. Since the budget is tossed around as discussion fodder on a regular basis, I might as well put this out there…
If they were willing to spend this kind of budget money on Blaster, what figure/product will get shortchanged because of it? I sure hope Blaster was worth it and it's something like Core Class that gets screwed to offset the additional cost.

My honest opinion on Eject is that while I’d prefer he wasn’t translucent:
a) They’ll eventually do him in solid colours, it’s just a matter of time; &
b) He’s a freebie with Blaster anyway, who in my opinion is already flawless (he’s at the same price point as Siege Soundwave, who comes with no cassette, & better engineering that Netflix Soundwave, who while he has 2 tapes is at a full price point higher)
I can’t think of any way they could improve the main figure of Blaster, that is what I fully expected him to cost / look like on his own, so to get a fully functioning tape as an extra for free is just a bonus in my eyes.
If Rewind is translucent black (& is definitely coming with the upcoming Legacy Wave 4 Twincast, as he looks highly likely to be) we may have to wait a little longer & get an exclusive with them both, however if Rewind is a solid black I fully expect Eject to be released sooner.

Yeeeeeah, those aren't stress marks. That's mold flash. That's where the parts used to be connected to the sprue.

Here's a picture of mine. Same line there, and it's definitely not a stress mark.
Max Tower
I wonder if the Doctor Wu pistol would look to small with him ?
I think he's "OK" but I do have some nitpicks – the gun is very gappy, his chest logo is a bit big for the placement, his ankles make him look like he's wearing flares, and the texture on the wings is to organic looking for my taste.
But other than that he's functionally adiquate I guess – but I may slide him over into the wait for the sale category perhaps.
I guess if they made the e-hobby/Diaclone repaints for all 3 or a slight colour variation in the buzzworthy line then I might like him enough to consider buying more than one. But I actually liked the previous Insecticons a fair bit and never really bothered army building them.
I might stick with my Sharkticon horde I am happier with that I think.
