Hot on the heels of the announcement of Fans Toys FT-57 Pipes, now via TFUpgrader we have images of the color prototype of Fans Toys FT-52 Masterpiece Scale G1 Outback.
This another great update to Fans Toys Minibots line up for the Masterpiece scale. A very nice rendition of this character which had a very brief screen time in the classic G1 cartoon. We can spot some slight modifications compared to the first renders shown.
See all the new images after the jump and then sound off your impressions on this new Masterpiece Minibot on the 2005 Boards!

This is one of those figures I passed out because he’s just not that important to me and I already had the Badcube version. But the more I look at my display shelf and pictures of this guy, the more I think I might have to make an upgrade because there are a lot of glaring in accuracy that this version is correct. It’s funny because I want variator more because it’s a better toy but looking at my existing display, I need it less because the bad cubes version actually is pretty screen accurate already and is also scaled more properly. Gears is supposed to be one of the very shortest Autobots, just barely taller than bumblebee.

I picked up this lad (from Terry, for less than £80) off the back of his storyline in the UK comics, which endeared him to people over here as he and Optimus basically saved each other's arses but he was also lovably cheeky. (Not quite as much as Flywheels but I suppose we'll be waiting a long time for an MP version of him, more's the pity.)
Anyway, I saw talk of a blue visor earlier in the thread – did that ever come about or have people been forced to improvise? I've never painted any of my figures, wonder how that would go…

Snagged this little fella when he was reduced to $80 for the day on Monday on TFSource and he just arrived today. I'd previously passed on Outback based on the so-so reviews and my general lack of interest in/nostalgia for the post-TFTM characters (though I did have G1 Outback). But the price seemed reasonable and with Pipes and Swerve both looking good I thought 'why not'. Have to say, I'm pleasantly surprised. Yes, the articulation is a bit lacking and the hips are weird but he's got a lot of character, helped by the optional smiley face (apparently not a popular display choice looking back through this thread). I even think I might prefer him to Brawn/Hunk.
Edit: I realise his knee isn't tabbed in properly in these photos – it's how he must have been packed. I only noticed it after and couldn't be mithered re-taking them.

I really enjoy them. I've got the chair for Blaster coming from him currently. Always been happy with his stuff.

I've bought several items from them. The designs are really cool, but you'll always be able to tell they're 3D printed.

If you go to Collector Crafts on eBay, he has a GREAT add on kit which has the Quintesson Journal, a bomb, and "Decepticon detector".

I set his hips the same way. I can't stand the long legged look.

Where is Outback on sale at?

What a spud-faced little goon.
Don't get me wrong: he's a surprisingly charming spud-faced little goon, but he was, is and shall always remain a spud-faced little goon.

Same, picked up this, Pipes, Brawn and Huffer. Outback and Huffer we're both on sale, so easy decision.
