It’s a new year and with it comes new toys. Thanks to the Walmart App, we’ve stumbled upon a new listing for two Transformers Rescue Bots – Classic Heroes Team entries and one entry for the Evergreen/Authentics line.
Rescue Bots:
- Classic Heroes Team – Grimlock
- Classic Heroes Team – Optimus Primal
Both products are priced at $10.99 each and may be similar to previous products from this subline. It’s interesting to see Optimus Primal among the toys and this is likely due to the Rise Of The Beasts live-action movie. However, it is likely that this product will be pushed to 2023.
Evergreen/Authentics
- Authentics Mini Racer Assortment
Unlike the aforementioned Classic Heroes Team line, this is an all-new product. It is likely that we will see characters like Optimus Prime, Bumblebee, Megatron, and Starscream.

I can think of worse ways to get people hyped for ROTB. As a BW fan, I approve.
bearytrek
was wondering why they suddenly have Primal in the mix, then remembered the BB-Beast Wars movie is coming soon…
Bumblejacker
from what I can see Primal is going to be most sought after.
Venixion
Quite a few.
I'm not into these particular ones, since I'm not a BW fan, but might pick some up for my little cousin. He still plays with, and hasn't yet destroyed his other RBs.

Ngl, that monkey head is hilarious. Also, the more I look at it the more I realize that… They probably used the old 10th anniversary primal for the coloring and base. I dunno why, but the chest really gives off that feeling to me and I dunno why

I mean, this stuff is still targeted at kids. They aren't gonna care that much as long as they have fun, which is what counts the most if anything. That and the money profits.
T-Hybrid
Jurassic Park, Marvel, Star Wars, etc.
Lots of toy lines find ways to target multiple age groups.

Dear Primus, I'm so impressed that the cheap hollow plastic syndrome is so common nowadays.
SPLIT LIP
I expected the T. Rex Optimus, not old munky man. He’s kinda cute, and his expressions remind me of the old Hasbro Gobots line where everyone was chubby and smiling.
VVa
No, shut up.

How many other children's toy lines have smaller children's toy lines for their toy lines?
Bee427
That's generally how packaging works, yes.
Pushan Halder
Primal there looks adoooorable!

I might just have to get Optimus Primal even though I don't collect Rescue Bots or Rescue Bots academy figures, for some reason just seeing Optimus Primal in a line that's meant for younger kids is so cool and also younger generations get to experience Beast Wars characters.
Houndini
Cute. Good to see the kiddie lines getting in on the BW action too.

I really like the look of the Classic Heroes Team figures. I think these show that kiddy gimmick figures can be done well, or at least look appealing (to be fair I haven't played with them myself). Sure they're overly simple, but they look appealing in terms of proportions and whatnot, and look sturdy to play with. Not sure I'd buy them as an adult, but they definitely seem like the sort of thing I'd have had a ton of fun with as a kid had I gotten ahold of them. In hindsight, I actually wish I had more of this sort of simple Transformers figure growing up.
The Titan Changer figures, on the other hand, just look awful to me. Awkward proportions, ugly sculpts, way too lanky, way too big and clunky to handle, and too simplistic for their size. Sure I'm not the target audience, but…do kids even like these? Or are they solely intended to be bought by naïve grandmas who are shopping for gifts at Dollar General? I dunno, these sort of figures always feel off to me. I can imagine a kid legitimately loving the Heroes Team figures (or at least having a good playtime or two with them), whereas these feel like the sort of thing you'd pretend to be excited about, then promptly throw in the garage.
