I always thought Cheetor and Rattrap were the originators of "snark" and other characters developed that behavior as time went on during the run of the CGI series.
I feel like Rhinox became king of sarcasm by the last season.
Omegax80
Yep. I think it got bumped to 20?

Just got done reading the new Beast Wars. While reading I realize, "Ya know what's nice about this? It's pure Beast Wars action. No pontificating over who's hooking up with who. Just pure fun."
Then, someone in the mailbag section praises the relationship between Primal and Dinobot and says they hope it "develops into something… more". This endless need to ship characters is exactly how TF comics have ended up where they are now.
Please, keep online blog ships out of stories. They are so much better without them. Beast Wars and Shattered Glass are the last TF comics I truly enjoy anymore because they know how to tell good Transformers stories.

I think it was supposed to be, but it sold well enough to get upgraded to an ongoing.
POSSESSED_DIGIT
Ah ok. I thought I remembered it being a 12 issue limited series. Guess I remembered wrong. Thanks

Beast Wars? It's an ongoing until all the IDW stuff ends at the end of the year.

More shit art
POSSESSED_DIGIT
I haven’t been paying attention: is this an ongoing? Or a limited series?
Hyoumaru
Maybe its me, but all these characters sound the same, just "snark" all around.
It's particularly weird for Cheetor.

I'll just throw in I have been enjoying the latest releases.
Wreckers was good, left it open for more. Maybe we'll get a one-shot to wrap things up.

Damn yes, more Smokescreen.
Also glad seeing Griffith's art again. Storywise I think it would be nice if the Autobots could win just once and kill and capture some of the 'Cons this time. I would love to seem them conquering a city at some point, to make the war more complex. There has to be a place where the majority isn't siding with Megatron, especially not after the coup. The old life wasn't that bad.

Last I read of it, the original article from THR said Kirkman is expected to *not* be writing any of the supposed TF comics by Skybound.
That being said, the Skybound deal is still not set in stone and Kirkman is still under fire with that colorist guy suing him over pay regarding the Invincible cartoon. So if no one nips that in the bud, I would not be surprised if Hasbro opts to shop the TF comic license elsewhere.

I tend to agree with you here. I'm not a big WD fan but I certainly respect his work, but yeah just not sure if that's the reboot I would enjoy either. I only mentioned it because when the rumors first broke, a lot of people had jumped on that assumption of him handling it himself.

I dunno if I *want* Kirkman writing anything for TF. He's got a style that might work as a one-off series but I don't want all of the franchise going that direction.
Cyberverse showed you could mix drama in a show aimed at younger audiences. Even the original BW did that. It doesn't need to be grimdark.

I never thought Kirkman was gonna write even an issue of a TF comic to be honest.

I'm remaining optimistic about it (I'm a big fan of most of IDW1 but I agree they've run their course with what they can do with the license) but I'd caution everyone just assuming Kirkman is going to write any new TF series once that deal is done. It COULD happen but just looking at similar histories with other IPs, I think it's more likely he hires writers as the company owner. And they very well could be in the same vein as some of the IDW writers that people here love to hate. Time will tell.

I wonder how things will turn out when Skybound issues it’s first TF comic.

What's funny is the whole idea of alternates is to put a diverse number of artists and styles out there. If all alternates had the same artists/styles then what's the point? I like seeing the characters rendered in different styles. And this particular variant is more cartoony, but then you've got the more "real" style of the "A" cover to balance it out. Just like we see when the cover's are the more Animated style of the interior and the variants lean towards the "real."
I'm also thinking back to the original series and how the art style was cool…but also not what ultimately made us all like the show. Code of Hero is still Code of Hero even if it's animated differently.
