Interesting bit of art. It illustrates what I was saying nicely – the art isn’t Animated style, but the characters are still recognizable as the Animated incarnations/designs. It’s possible to G1-ify characters without making them generic or indistinguishable from their G1 counterpart.
TF Hot Rod
I'd say add TFP as well. Overall between the two (TFP and TFA) Animated works better G1-ified.

I don't really either as well. I got figures from the WFC trilogy and older CHUG figures on the same shelves.

Probably. Until we got to Bayverse and Animated, the art style usually didn’t go too far afield from G1; it was the designs that made the characters different. (Not sure if I’m making the distinction I have in my head clear.) Character incarnations for me are defined by the design elements that make them distinct from G1 and from each other, rather than simply the art style, since that can vary from artist to artist. Armada Starscream would require the shoulder-mounted cannons, the stabilizer fins on his shins and the swords, because those are for me his particular distinctive elements. And those would carry over even if he were done in Sunbow style, Prime style or Animated style. It should be possible to translate the character to another style while retaining the core elements of the design.
UT toys were redecoed into G1 guys for CHUG in the early days, and it wasn’t too terrible a stretch. Heck, I thought using Evac as Blades made perfect sense, since he loves tearing `Cons apart with his rotors. Having his main rotor as an arm-mounted melee weapon would make that REAL easy. The red Evac redeco didn’t match the look of G1 Blades, but an element of the design fit his personality to a T.
Of course, I’ve always had a pretty broad definition of “G1 style”, since for me comic, cartoon, and the several different looks the toys evolved through are all equally valid to me.
I’ve never had any trouble mixing UT/G1/CHUG (and to a lesser degree BW/BM into the mix), so those characters could potentially be translated to Legacy relatively faithfully. As long as Hasbro doesn’t insist on using a totally inappropriate premold for the character, like Legacy Bulkhead. It might be passable as a G1 Bulkhead, but it fails as a translation of the Prime Bulkhead design to G1 style.

Pretty sure they don't, all of the pylon piece is attached with this hinge.

It's a shame but i'm still looking forward to Black convoy.

That’s what I’m holding out for.

G1 is just better then the other eras after all /s

Ah I see. I can't recall the last time I've seen a stock photo of the toy in package differ so I thought maybe there was some late change to it.

Seems like a new thing, refusing to paint that area. Its fine if the eyes are yellow. But seems ridiculous, since its a separate part… No need for a mask…sigh
Autobot N
So they’re not gonna fix the missing silver paint between the eyes? Shame, I’m definitely still excited for him but that is a bit of a bummer
Bob Schoonover
Seems unlikely he'll be too off-model. First, he's got plenty of repaints, so the tooling budget will be more than covered by (eventually) Skywarp, Ramjet, and Thundercracker. Second, as mentioned above, he's already an aesthetic match for the rest of the line. Third, the design is cool as hell and messing with it won't make it better
Mumble-bee
as it happens, I did find one in a Target yesterday. it was the only new item there. I thought I was being pranked.
size doesn't matter!

Arms up or ankles the choice is yours
jamarmiller
If the arms can’t go straight up , I may just stick with my original
TF Hot Rod
I doubt he'll be G1-ified or if he is not as much as Legacy Bulk, Arcee and Knockout since at least to me Armada Starscream looks more G1 looking than the TFP Characters done so far

Q Prime
I feel like the UT lads are less likely to be changed much given how blocky and already G1-y everyone feels. Heck, IDW used Armada Starscream's body for G1 Starscream for a while.
Neko-bot77
If the "Prime" characters are any indication, EVERYTHING not G1 will be somewhat assimilated into G1…

I pray this new year reveals Legacy Armada Starscream that hasn't been G1-Fied like these Prime characters. I need to start a collection of modern figures of the Unicron Trilogy cast, with modern engineering.
ScorponokIsHere
wellllllllllll it depends, sorta, 'cuz those giant shoulder pylons can get in the way sometimes

Looks odd there, Ultra Magnus has HUGE arms that lessen the awkwardness of the shoulder movement.
The very best thing would be for it to move with the arm but only about 30 degrees, but this isn't a Masterpiece it's a nice Leader figure and compromises will happen, the shoulder thing in light of everything else is not a huge deal.
And for me and others it's preferable than giant shoulders that move more than his legs in motion. I'd rather it be shoulder armor myself. Which it is.
SPLIT LIP
There's toolboxes and even sleeper cabins, but neither resemble the arms in this case. Its also even more obvious since it's specifically trying to replicate/emulate a truck that had nothing behind the cab originally. They just look like folded robot arms.
