Via Chinese forum Baidu, we can share for you new images of a color sample of the upcoming Yolopark Bumblebee Movie Earth Mode Optimus Prime PLAMO (Model Kit).
This is a 30-cm tall Bumblebee Movie Optimus Prime model kit designed after his Earth Mode as seen in the movie. As we can see from the images, this model kit will come with colored plastic parts (similar to other Yolopark PLAMO model kits). This model kit features a very nice amount of detail and a high level of poseability. We don’t have to confused this PLAMO release with the bigger and expensive IIES Bumblebee Movie Optimus Prime action figure.

Like mentioned above you need hobby nippers as bare minimum to remove the piece from the runner. In addition, a way to clean up the gate marks left would only help contribute to a smoother build.
SPLIT LIP
The only tools you need are plastic cutters/hobby nippers to take the pieces off the sprues. Nothing else is needed as the kit is snap-together.

What kind of tools are needed? Someone else told me they didn't need anything so I am confused. I have no experience with model kits.
frenchbreadbuilds
yes, they're what I would consider advanced model kits.
JasonTFW2005
Do the PMK kits require any tools?
frenchbreadbuilds
This might be the best model kit ive built in the past 5 years. No broken pieces, almost no loose pieces. surprisingly solid

Yes, because that's what I did. Where in the listing does it say it's an Asia exclusive? Yolopark/SOSKILL Bumblebee The Movie: Earth Mode Optimus Prime Model Kit
Edit: Never mind, I see it. That's an old description. The updated license regions are on the Yolopark website: BUMBLEBEE THE MOVIE : 30cm Earth mode Optimus Prime Plastic Model Kit. I don't think ShowZ supports every single one of those locations but I can confirm they can ship Prime to the US.

since there are us stores selling them I’d assume you’re fine to order from showzstore
JasonTFW2005
Can you order the figure from ShowZStore and have it shipped to US even tho the listing describes it as being licensed in Asian countries?

i would say yes. after detaching the head, its a couple panels to disassemble the head to access the led kit. you’ll have to do this anyhow to replace the battery. as for the rattling. it’s an easy fix to wad up a little tissue paper and stuff behind the led to keep it in place

@frenchbreadbuilds explains it really well. In short, yes, you can install the LED by just taking the head off the neck. You can position the LED in place where it will be secured in the head, but it eventually just comes out of place and will rattle around in there unless either you glue it or use tweezers to secure it in place again. I just kept it like this since it'll be easier to replace the battery in the future.

Good to know. Maybe assemble the skeleton paint it and get the bits and pieces as i put them on.

I can attest to this. Getting this guy apart was quite the chore. If you’re going to paint I really recommend doing it before assembly.
That said, now that he’s painted up, I don’t find it impacts tolerances much at all.
parrothead
NICE!!! So maybe paint it before putting it together completly. Never done that, might be fun.

Easily broken down? no. not with out a really good understanding of how things go together. Ive disassembled the arms and the head with out too much trouble but the chest/torso easily has over 150+ pieces. my best suggestion is if you want to paint it, do so with out the exterior fragile bits if youre not confident in your ability to do so without breaking pieces.
Personally, this just isnt the type of kit I'd earmark for a painting project. So many pieces. So many complex moving parts. Painting this is going to seriously impact playability from a tolerance perspective. And I'm not afraid of a challenging paint project either! Ive been painting gunpla for ages

the short answer is kinda? the long answer is no. the reason why is because the head isn't really designed for a plug and play LED feature and the aliexpress leds are designed or sized specifically for the head. There's just a open cavity in his head that you can sore an LED unit in. The LED unit can be inserted in the head but it will rattle around unsecured in the head and not give you the best results because youd just be illuminating the inside of its head with whatever light making to the eyes shining through.
I disassembled the head and mounted my led to the clear blue plastic piece that makes up the eyes and lined up the actual led lights with the eyes themselves and made a shelf to the led unit to sit on out of UV light curing resin and used a little bit of super glue to attach the shelf i made to the clear blue plastic.

I haven't started mine yet, what do you think the disassembly would be like for painting and whatnot? Would he be easily broken down and put back together?
Black Convoy
Is it possible to install the LED lighst after you assembled the head?

I've been building this for the past 1.5 weeks casually after work and I have got to say I'm blown away by this kit. And I'm saying that as a mechanical engineer and someone who's built well over 150 master grade and perfect grade style kits. I don't think I've ever built anything with this high of a part count that still came together in away that was functional and not a hand grenade. The movement and articulation in the ab crunch and shoulders are borderline sorcery. the sheer amount of parts by default makes this something that won't be everyones cup of tea but if you enjoy building model kits, this is a builder's kit. Yolopark put a ton of effort in this and it shows.View attachment 30241662 View attachment 30241661 View attachment 30241663
