Attention collectors! The official Transformers Instagram account have shared information and images about new Official G1 Transformers Limited Posters.
The first poster (and its variant) revealed is titled “Roll Out” by artist Juan Ramos and featuring a confrontation between the main G1 Autobot and Decepticon teams with Optimus Prime and Megatron in the center. As we learned from the previously released G1 Soundwave posters these posters will be offered exclusively via The Moor Art Gallery website, and they will be extremely limited editions. Read on for further details:
We are on a roll-out! Back from their instant sell-out of their previous limited edition art pieces, @TheMoorArtGallery has re-created 2 of the most iconic battles in #Transformers history!
The first of the 2 to be released – we have Roll Out, by Juan Ramos (@mr.juandalf), which is a huge 24”x36” limited edition screenprint made available in two editions; 150 Regular multi-colored prints, and 100 Variant prints with a glow-in-the-dark ink. This makes the depiction of Energon even more epic and true-to-life!
The next and final print in the battle series will be released in a month’s time – so stay tuned for a classic and iconic battle between #Megatron and #OptimusPrime, illustrated from the original cartoon, The Transformers #G1.
As always, they will all be hand-numbered and exclusive to Moor-Art Gallery!
Pre orders start on Dec 10th and are available for purchase worldwide
See all the mirrored images of the first poster after the break and then sound off on the 2005 Boards!

I’m assuming that was part of the deal with the original photographer, to pull them. Good for him, and I’m glad Moor was compliant. Curious what they will do instead, because they also mentioned there was going to be a second one (same artist?)

Damn I really wanted this poster! Yeah it was plagiarism, but it was also kinda cool to see a couple figures I own in a dynamic poster. Anyone selling a knock off of it then?
JDK
Aw man even though it was traced it was still gorgeous haha. I wanted one! It’s a very weird little piece of history now! But it’s the 10th and they’re not up so I guess they really are cancelled.

oh dear

Heheheh. Hasbro we're coming for your NFTs next.

It appears these have been quietly cancelled. The original Instagram post was fully deleted and there is no mention of these on the Moore Gallery site anymore

This is kind of hilarious, but since Hasbro owns the likenesses anyway, its kind of a moot point. Guess they'll get their money one way or another.

Has no-one pointed out that's totally the wrong Lancia Stratos, too? Not Wheeljack! Just some random Stratos pasted in.

I'll try and keep this simple.
You literally provide evidence of the fact that Transformers has had incarnations that look nothing like G1, then tell people that if that's what you want, you need to find another hobby. It doesn't matter whether you think BB Soundwave should count as G1 or not: The fact of the matter is that some people like the variety that used to be provided by Transformers that don't look anything like G1, a variety that is slowly being removed. If you can't acknowledge that, then it's a good thing you won't respond, because you need to find a new fandom.

Rehashing and remixing isn't exclusive to TFs. It's not exclusive to Hasbro. It's not a new thing. Humans have been rehashing and remixing for centuries. ("The Aeneid" is "The Iliad"/"The Odyssey" fan fiction. Change my mind.) We do it all the time. Characters get adapted and remixed. Tropes get reused and remixed – see Joseph Campbell's hero's journey, perhaps the most famous one. (Hot Rod, anyone?) Truly original material is rare and always has been.
Every time a new TF character is introduced, even if they're not a rehash or remix of an existing character, they're almost certainly a rehash/remix of something else. Windblade, Rung, Knock-Out, Bulkhead, Strongarm, Demolishor ("Armada"), Lugnut, Lockdown, Cannonball…new to Transformers, maybe, but that's it.
So please: enough bickering. It's all derivative.
As for the poster, I thought it was pretty cool until the blatant plagiarism was brought to my attention. Correct me if I'm wrong, but it sounds like the artist didn't get out their own toys, pose them, and use them as a reference – they used existing photos and 1:1 copied them. And they're charging a premium for this…?
samisham
A knock off of a poster featuring stolen art of toys using ripped off designs that were licensed to be part of the franchise having its characters jacked.
Bruh.

it is the only way to truly complete the full circle of knocking off a knockoff

Whole Leigh Sheets.
Did you read anything I just said?
Including the response you just erroneously countered?
Seriously, did you read them? Because you certainly didn't understand them.
I'll not reply again to any of this.
There's no point.

This is up there with Disney photoshopping that Darth Sidious toy onto the Rise of Skywalker poster, cheap bastards.

Whether you think G1-inspired should count as G1, and what point, ultimately doesn't matter as it always comes down to that final point: "If you guys are looking for transforming robots that have no roots in G1 at all then you need a new hobby". That's saying that people who enjoyed not just Bayformers, but the Beast Era, Prime Continuity and the majority of the Unicron trilogy have no place being Transformers fans, as those designs, as you demonstrated with the above image, tended to have little-to-no G1 influence. I'm sorry, but that is the sort of opinion that keeps the label "GeeWunner" relevant. That opinion is just arrogant, self-centered and elitist.

Dang, guess the artist was too busy googling to take the time to make this look even remotely good.

This is the internet – their work is forever free now to the world…no one needs to purchase it, ever.
Mglaighton120
Make sure to buy a bootleg version lmao, Moor Art doesn’t need your money for this or else they’ll just do the same thing again
Metalwario64
I hate when they try to make G1 all brooding and dark. This gives me WFC Netflix vibes. I want my lighter tone with cool 80s robots with that old school sci-fi feel.
