Via friend site and sponsor Robotkingdom we can share for you images of the gray prototypes of the new Moon Studio MS-03 Iron Arm (G1 Shouki) And MS-04 Moon Shine (G1 Kaen).
These figures are modern takes on the Japanese G1 Trainbots and they are part of Moon Studio Radiatron / G1 Raiden combiner. As we can see from the images both figures look pretty detailed, specially in train mode. We also have a look at their respective upper and lower torso modes showing off all their detail and the head of the combiner. We have finally seen prototypes of the 6 Trainbot members, now following the previously revealed MS-01 Dark Night (G1 Getsuei), MS-02 Ice Land (G1 Yukikaze), MS-05 Green Zone (G1 Seizan) And MS-06 Ice Land (G1 Suiken).

The Bucket Kitten
Not really, if anything, the discussion made me want to mess around with the separate bots again.

Are you trying to get this thread back on track? I really liked the individual bots as well. Although I didn’t like Moonshine that much. His bot mode wasn’t as great as the others. Still really glad I got this set.
The Bucket Kitten
I decided to take Raiden apart the other day for the first time since assembling him, and I've forgotten how great the individual components are.
Little Dutch
More like McDonald's icecream machine: broken.
crdavismusic
Would you say it feels a few fries short of a Happy Meal, in your opinion?
Little Dutch
I would sooner compare it to Subway, because like their sandwiches, Takara Raiden is coming up short.
crdavismusic
I find McDonald's food to be the most vile thing on the planet, for my tastes. Billions of people served prefer to like it. Does that make either of us wrong? Absolutely not.
(I'm not comparing McDonald's to either of these toys except to say that people can like what they like.)
daimchoc
Sunbow Prime
Raiden isn't even big enough to scale correctly with that either.
magmatron
I think where Radiatron really fails is in the helmet and face sculpt, which funny enough is one of the few thanks Takara's Raiden has going for it.
VictoryStarSaber
This is exactly how I feel about the set. This guy is cleaner and has more presence, but he just has this austerity to him that I don't enjoy all that much.
EMPEROR NOVA01
Putting in my two cents against my better judgement, my thoughts on Radiatron feel kinda strange even to myself, because on paper I think I should like it better than the MPG, because I tend to rather quite like animation accurate toys, but I find something about them uncanny. They're certainly closer to the Trainbots' animation models in many respects, Moon Shine aside, but the sculpting all just looks a bit stiff and lifeless to my eye in a way that I don't know how to put into words.
Say that I'm coping if you want, but frankly I do prefer the look of MPG Raiden. I won't deny that he's very awkward looking and, sure, most people would probably say that Radiatron looks better, but I think telling someone that the thing they like is irredeemably horrible in a way that sounds like you're making objective statements is a bit much.

i don’t really have anything new to add to this discussion i just wanna say that if you release a combiner and the combined mode fails, your release is a failure. end of discussion. at the end of the day those figures are going on the shelf in combined mode and if that looks and poses terribly no good quality in any of the other modes can outweigh that
evilash3373
Some people have terrible tastes and opinions. Like anyone who thinks that thing that's supposed to be Raiden is in any ways a good figure. They only look decent in alt mode. More or less negating it being a transformer. Might as well save some money and buy train models if you are in it for the alt mode.
The combiner mode is horrific. Combiners from 10 years ago have better proportions and are likely more stable. TFC Toy's earliest efforts look better than that thing. Make Toys Giant looks better than Takara's Raiden. I don't care how many pointless, trash accessories a figure comes with from "that one episode" it's the quality of the figure that matters.
Opticaloptics
My disappointment in Takara over the MPG aside, that pic does look quite good.
All this is making me want to get Radiatron though. Oof.
Dah Padre
Moon Studios owned Takara in combined mode. That is clear from this pic. Without it being immediately pointed out I would have dismissed the official as a cheap KO design. I own Moon Studios and have seen several of the official bots in hand. I agree with the mass consensus that Takara knocked the real world trains out the park, individual bot modes are more subjective, but combiner is Moon Studios hands down.
IronEnder17
Ironically that's what I opened with. Anyways, off to start the day
Shuggaroth
Enough with the back and forth. Different people, different preferences. Let's move in.
EDIT
Holy crap no. ON. LETS MOVE ON

"I don't know how anyone can like this set"
"I like this set because I have different tastes than you. It's not impossible"
Please, I would love to see how that's dismissive. If it is, I would love to be properly corrected rather than insulted because if I'm in the wrong, I would like to grow.
However, I'm noticing a stark difference in how the 2 of us handle the situation funnily enough
