The art is okay, I just don't like the design for Grimlock here.
I get they wanted to make him more savage and primitive for this story, but I would have preferred a more traditional rendition.

Interesting. I\'ve enjoyed it so far. I like the art and I like the setting. This one and Shattered Glass are the only TF comics I\'ve read in a while. I got burned out on the newest IDW reboot and didn\'t care for the art in Beast Wars too much. I did preorder the BW TPB though so I could get the whole 1st arc in one reading.

The best thing to come out of this was miniseries were the covers for each issue (despite the fact that Grimlock never actually fights a majority of the creatures featured on them).

I had such high hopes for this book but it ended up being unreadable trash.

Same. Genuinely THE worst TF comic I've read in a long time on every level.

As much as I like Grimlock, I didn’t care for this story at all. I just couldn’t get invested. I also felt like the artist drew Grimlock poorly, and the writer had no clue of how to write Grimlock effectively. His dialogue was all wrong in several scenes. Some may say the art is “stylised”, but even stylised art is subject to criticism. Simply being stylised doesn’t make it above criticism.
I was also reading Savage Avengers at the same time, which had a similar feel but was a much better story, with Conan the Barbarian being the Marvel counterpart of King Grimlock from this book.
