Deadline and a whole host of various websites have just broken the news that Transformers: Rise of the Beasts has now been delayed approximately one year to June 9, 2023, after being originally slated for release on June 24, 2022.
As stated on Deadline:
This just in from Paramount: Transformers: Rise of the Beasts will no longer be opening on June 24, 2022 rather June 9, 2023.
And the new Star Trek movie they’ve been in development on won’t launch on June 9, 2023 rather Dec. 22, 2023. The pic is in development with Matt Shakman attached to direct, as we first told you.
Rise of the Beasts is directed by Steven Caple Jr. and stars Anthony Ramos, Dominique Fishback, Luna Lauren Valez, Peter Cullen as Optimus Prime and Ron Perlman as Optimus Primal. The pic leaves behind a weekend where Sony has the Reese Witherspoon drama production Where the Crawdads Sing and heads to a date where it will be up against an untitled Universal event film. Beasts is currently in production.
Star Trek moves to a Christmas period where Warner Bros. has their feature adaptation of the Broadway musical The Color Purple and Universal an untitled event musical film (Wicked perhaps?). Disney still has Patty Jenkins’ Star Wars Rogue Squadron on that date. Despite the director not moving forward with the film in 2022; the Mouse House hasn’t changed the pic’s release date yet.
Let us know what you think of this development on the boards!

What are you on? Afterlife achieved expectations as far as I know, and why wouldn’t it? It’s a masterpiece.

I've realized a little something. I remember Hasbro or someone saying they were gonna move the SS toys and stuff for the film to 2023, which it is now coming out in. Maybe that was a change of plans since they got word of Paramount putting off the movie till then before the announcement to the public? Just a thought

Do you mean Ghostbusters 2016 or Afterlife? Cause Afterlife has so far exceeded it's box-office expectations in nearly every regard, while 2016 was short 80 million in order to break even due to a combination of the high marketing cost, the large budget, and it just not being a good movie.

What?

Ghostbusters 3 lost A Lot of money by moving the date. Move the date back were it was.

I'm actually feel quite the opposite.
Maybe it's because I'm a huge Halo fan and I'm seeing what the one-year delay has done for Halo Infinite's quality, but I'm optimistic that this movie might be getting more polish and love from this.
After AoE and TLK, I'm well aware that I could be 100% wrong – but I'm Optimis-tic.

I see what you did there

Same. I’d love to be excited about this, but I’m not. I wish newer TF media would either respect and refine G1 or else create completely new characters and leave the old ones alone. The bastardization used to bother me, but now I’m simply disinterested.

These Transformers movie doesnt spark any interest to me. Ill watch it on a straming service when it becomes available. IF it was G1 theme like Bumblebee then Id be interested hehe.

Same here, i discovered Transformers thanks to the Bay movies.
Sunbow Prime
I have never paid to watch a Transformer movie, but that's one I would.
live action
G1 cartoon looking designs like in the Bumblebee movie (meaning a completely new design for Bumblebee himself)
put one or more of the cartoon plots in it or make something up
make it make sense (don't give characters flight and then have them not do it later with no explanation for example)
Sunbow Prime
I thought the plots were. Both of those movies had things that didn't make sense given what they presented.

I think you misinterpret my comments simply because one sentence follows the other. I made two statements in response to 2fabdad. First, that Bayverse in my opinion didn't choose wisely (because I thought it was unappealing). Second (and separately), that trying to please everyone can lead to pleasing no one. I didn't say that Bayverse pleased no one, because unlike 2fabdad, I don't honestly think the intention was for it to have broad appeal. Bay made decisions about these productions that polarized the potential audience. I didn't like these films… any of of them. I can list off a dozen specific reasons, any of which might be why another person loved them. I don't think they made any attempt whatsoever at pleasing everyone, but some people definitely found them entertaining.

If it wasn't for the 07' movie (and also seeing TFA as a kid afterward) I wouldn't have known/discovered TF's as a kid and probably never would have gotten into the franchise.
PlanckEpoch
It satisfied millions of fans who became new Transformers fans. Fans where the Bayverse is their G1. Studio Series was made specifically to cater to movie fans who are generally old enough to either spend their own money or have their own income.
In that way the movies did satisfy people. They were trash films sure but entertained the masses until it just got too repetitive. To say the films didn't satisfy people is ignorant of reality.
Gumblor Gimbles
I highly doubt this delay is to make the film better. Star Trek got delayed to the same christmas 2023 release date, its something the executives decided with no input from the filmmakers.

And considering it's banned in China and other countries (cause of a scene) it's doing pretty well.

Or by yours.

Do you consider Black Widow and Shang Chi flops as well?
The point is, it's performing as well as any other pandemic release.
