Via the official Playstation YouTube account we can share for you the new official trailer of the Smite x Transformers Battle Pass.
Smite is a multi-platform, free-to-play, third-person multiplayer online battle arena video game developed and published by Hi-Rez Studios. Players control a god, goddess, or other mythological figure, and take part in team-based combat. Now, the Transformers are coming to fight along Gods on this epic collaboration which was revealed in the recent Hasbro Pulsecon online event.
Hasbro’s TRANSFORMERS arrives in SMITE with an all-new Battle Pass! This crossover features three incredible TRANSFORMERS characters as Skins for community-loved Gods: Optimus Prime Geb, Starscream Jing Wei, and Megatron Ra.

I just got back into Smite after finally acquiring a decent computer. The Transformers skins are so impressive, but tbh I'm just not into any of the crossover stuff. It kinda kills my immersion in the cool "mythological arena" setting for an Optimus Prime Geb to show up and smash my poor Ratatoskr against a wall.

Apologies for the double post, so to say, but there has been some updated stuff I think some people may be interested in.
For those curious, I'm rank 10 on the Prestige Track, which means I've unlocked Megatron/Ra, who will be my new main now. God rank 3 with him, I've been having some good fortune (knock on wood) in MP playing him.
Honestly, I'm quite impressed at the work they've put into the skins, especially the animations and work put into transforming (pun intended) each God into the Transformer. To use Ra/Megatron for example, Ra's Solar beam first special is an attack where a beam of light comes down from the sky in a line. Megatron calls in Skywarp, who teleports in, does the beam strike (in the line), then teleports out. Ra's second is a concentrated zone of sunlight that heals allies and harms enemies who dip in, Megatron actually spacebridges in a giant shard of Dark Energon to create the zone. Ra's ultimate is channeling the sun into a beam strike, Megatron transforms into his tank alt mode and fires a charged shot. So it's far from just the character using a different themed skin, it's a total re-engineering of the effects, but the actual damage and physics of the mechanics remain unchanged. In addition, any of them can transform at will into alt mode and drive/fly around the map via the emote special 2 function (X,A,Y on Xbox) – ("flying" is ground level movement, though Jing We/Starscreams native ability is when they leave base, they fly, so in that regard, Starscream does fully take off, transforming and can fly around the map until the energy meter is used up); again, rather impressively there's even the turret turning for Megatron so he's always aiming forward despite the direction of the tank movement. However, doing anything will cause an instant pop back to robot mode. There's dust and movement effects, like I said, they went all out. Even the dialogue is all solid work, sometimes Starscreams entry dialogue is his tech spec motto. One of his audio cues that can happen when he's low on health and enters the fountain is that he's fine, but those who did it will pay! All have feature dialogue that can sometimes play when you make equipment purchases, one of them for Starscream is that he thinks it will make him more worthy to the new leader! Also, all three have announcers packages to unlock on the track, and as announcers, they're true to the character as well. Optimus is mournful announcing enemy kills, Megatron can mock your teammates who die for being weak, etc. Also, unlike other basic skins, all have completely new victory/loss screen animations. Starscream flaunts himself over Megatron in his coronation gear and kicks a down Megatron at his feet with Victory, for a loss he instead tries to beg forgiveness to an offscreen Megatron who transforms into tank mode, his barrel now visible, and the shot fired from Megatron's tank mode cannon disintegrates Starscream. Megatrons victory is a very Conan style sitting on the throne and occasionally rising to wave in victory. In loss, he's in a firefight, dodging fire when Starscream flies in in jet mode, transforms to robot mode, and shoots Megatron in the back, knocking him down.
Of an interesting note, Starscream and Optimus transform exactly like you'd think/the G1 way. Megatron, being a tank, oddly enough, doesn't transform like any tank Megatron figure. As best as I can tell, the arms end up as the rear middle of the tank, the legs become the side treads, and the chest the middle front of the tank, with the cannon running the entire length of the turret. It kind of reminds me of a mix between Cyberverse Battle Call Megatron and WFC Siege Megatron melded together in an earth mode tank. EDIT: I downloaded some clips I had and watched the transformation at ~10% speed and Megatron does transform in a modified version of the Siege/Earthrise Transformation into his tank mode. Each version has a "G1" skin as well, which is using the toon palette and more strictly G1 deco's, though Starscream appears to actually be a slightly different model. The regular Starscream transforms like the G1/Classics/WFC Earthrise figure, though the cockpit backpack becomes a central jetpack. In some of the idle animations and when he returns to base, that and his boot thrusters all fire to levitate him. The "G1" version of Starscream doesn't have that backpack thruster. It will be interesting to see if that's also a different idle animation then. Incidentally, while on the subject, another one of Starscreams idle animations is putting on the crown from the 86 movie and preening.
In the past, popular crossovers have had bonus skins, even relatively recently they added a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Krang skin for Xing Tian in September despite the original TMNT Battle Pass ending in January. So, if this does well, there is the chance of future characters. (I could see Sobek getting Grimlock, since it seems they really want to have the Ultimates use transforming, I could see the huge damage reduction and movement bonus' for Sobek's ultimate to be Grimlocks stomping around in T-rex mode.) Any new skins will only be sold via gems.
It's been a very long time since I was playing Smite before this Battle Pass, over a year. It has been kind of cool getting into it with the new Transformer characters as well as playing with people using older crossover characters. Additionally one of my real life friends who we'd play Smite together (among other games) also got the pass as well and has been using Optimus, which is cool. We haven't gotten together since I unlocked Megatron and I'm quite looking forward to having an Optimus/Megatron team-up.

I am. Level 44 on the Battle pass. Jing-We Starscream is very cool.
First of all, just for anyone curious, a few clarifications. You only get Optimus Prime/Geb skin when you purchase the Battle Pass. Starscream/Jing-We is unlocked at 20, with Megatron/Ra unlocked at 60. Once you hit 60, you unlock the prestige track, with G1 Optimus Prime/Geb at Prestige rank 10, G1 Starscream/Jing-We at 30, and G1 Megatron/Ra at Prestige Rank 60 and part of the final reward. Along the way are all sorts of unlocks, from in game boosters, new avatar pictures, frames, announcers, and more. (I'm currently using most of them and the Megatron announcer pack).
If you want the skins, but don't want to play the game to grind out the ranks, after the event is over, that does look to become possible, though it looks like the skins will be 1250 gems per base skin, with the prestige skins being 3550 gems, far more than the 750 gems that the Battle Pass cost and with none of the rank up along the way items. I should point out that if you don't own the God, you can't play the character, you can either purchase any God/character using favor (earnable in game currency) or with Gems. Alternatively you can make a one time purchase and buy all the characters/Gods and all future ones as well.
You don't have to play the Transformers characters to participate in the Battle Pass, you can play any character you want, you accumulate Battle Points by playing, win or lose in virtually every mode. Every week during the event there are two challenges, that range from absurdly easy (Jump 10 times before the match starts), to easily doable (win 1 game that week), to just a minor activity (play a hunter-class character). Each of those rewards additional battle pass points. You can also do several different "quests" at the same time, the Odyssey events, the Battle Pass, the normal weekly game events, you can do all of them at once.

Anyone playing this?

Well you’re making the “yOu dO sOmEThIng BeTtEr” arguement, so your opinion is invalid.
Fallout
you don't have to be a doctor to diagnose a broken leg.

Let's see you do better then.
Go on. Do it.

I understand what they are. Just seems like marketing people can't help but copycat each other.
Nova Maximus
Same reason you don't see the Old Republic cinematics' as shows either.
This one minute of animation was probably really expensive.
GeoSociety
Or like the characters from the first Wreck it Ralph movie who got their original game unplugged. That's probably more sad when you think of it that way though.
Ch40sKnight
Clearly you never even heard of the concept of crossovers.
jamarmiller
my son only plays fortnight, I may have bought this if it was in fornight so I could play him.

Was every marketing person in the country given an edict from the marketing gods that all product releases in 2021 must have an \"X\" in tha name?
Even the NFL is doing this now.
Browns v Packers? NO.
Browns x Packers

It's not console specific, Xbox, PS4, PC, it's all the same. You buy the Battle Pass in November when the Transformers X SMITE event happens (Don't worry, it will be extremely clear when it happens), from the store to start the event. Once unlocked, the skins and everything else you unlock (frames, icons, voices, gestures, pedestals, etc) will be on your account forever.
If you buy the Battle Pass, you'll get the three base skins and start at level 1, with the chance to earn all the other stuff through play/grinding of 120 levels worth of unlocks and rewards, after grinding out the first 60 levels and getting all the rewards, you can start the prestige track. If you buy the prestige Battle Pass, you'll skip to level 60 getting everything and all the skins and other unlocks/rewards from 1-60, and can start working on 61-120 level rewards, including the Prestige versions of the skins and those higher tier unlocks/rewards without having to grind out the first 60 levels of base play and instead start right on the 61+ rewards. Either way after 8 weeks, whatever you've unlocked is yours to keep.
At least that's my understanding, I've been playing SMITE for a few years and have never bought a Battle Pass, this will be my first.

This Zeus looks like the one from the god of war trilogy.

So how does this work? Is this a skin you have to buy or something? Do you get to keep the skin after the event's over? Is this on PS4 only or is this available on PC as well? I missed the TMNT event.
Razorrider
I think they should have gone with a downsized Unicron and Primus, or even the 13 Primes to fit with the deity theme of Smite.
I could see Screamer getting along with Ah Muzen Cab, though. The latter's voice in his Solid Hornet skin sounds very Starscream-esque.

Honestly, I feel like this crossover would've worked a lot better for the studio's other game, Paladins, which is a hero shooter. Not that surprised, though, since Smite is definitely their money maker, and the only crossover they've had was with (ironically) a Rooster Teeth show, more specifically, Gen:LOCK, which was made under some pretty horrible crunch time for animators. (And the paladins art director has recently gone out of his way to spite the community, but that's unrelated.)
Pravus Prime
I'm game. I've been occasionally playing smite for years on Xbox and I have a friend who we'd play together. So buying a battle pass for the first time won't be that bad for some fun skins.
Though it's been a long time since I've played Ra…
Natant17
It's actually a PC game lol
