Via their Facebook page, DNA Design has revealed their new DK-28 Gear Master upgrade set for an assortment of Kingdom Beast Wars figures, in particular Leader Megatron, Voyager Optimus Primal, and Deluxe Cheetor. Included in the set is:
• Flail, mutant mask, gap fillers, jetpack, and blast effects for Primal
• Mutant mask, gun, gap fillers, rubber ducky (Yeeesss!), toothbrush, and blast effects for Megatron
• Gut gun for Cheetor
DNA says the kit is expected to be released in January 2022.

Yea, sounds like you and I are pretty much on the same page. The next kit I'm mainly getting for the Dinobot hands, so we will see how that one turns out. Curious if they're planning any repaints of the kits to go with the other figures that have gotten released.

The chest filler not transforming and being a bad color match is a complete fail for me.
Megatron fillers failing that bad just infuriate me. They're so close and don't finish. (What's the point?!)
The rifle, much like the toothbrush, is not my cup of tea.
I'll use Paleotrex's head and let him club people, instead.
This set is reminding me of the SS Devastator kit. Makes the combined mode look great (in some ways) but more or less ruins the figures other modes in the set. A bunch of garbage hanging off of them in robot and vehicle mode. (Which is why I skipped the set completely.) If they'd make more kits like the SS Wreckers one (which did fix a lot of my issues with the set), DNA could dominate and people would skip 3d prints altogether. Instead…we get this. Meh.

Pretty much the best things in the set are
Cheetor's gun
Sword coupler
Rubber duck (granted, I have quackles, so the rubber duck is useless for me)
Tooth brush
both mutant masks if that's your thing (I don't have a 3d printed mask for Primal so I can't compare)
for the bad
Primal's chest filler isn't color matched and has to be removed for transformation unlike the 3d printed one
Megatrons fillers are the wrong purple and don't cover as much as the 3d printed kits
Megatrons rifle is smaller than the one that comes with the 3d printed kit
Primal's flail has a handle that is way too long, seriously not sure where this set and the MP got the overly long handle from. Personally, I prefer using Paleotrex's head as it blends with the figure better.
for the meh
Primal's jetpack is just kinda there. Neither bad nor good.

Yea, nothing else in the kit really does anything better than the 3d printed kits I've already got. The Primal chest filler isn't even color matched properly.

Whoa…that *is* a nice match. I just can't part with the kind of money they want for this kit when it does so much "meh" with it for the asking price. I was hoping the Primal chest fillers would be better than the 3d printed versions. Shame.

Got my DK-28 set in on Friday, mainly ordered it for Cheetor's gun. The loss of the gold paint compared to the marketing images is a bit of a let down, but at the same time I think it might actually help the gun overall. My reasoning for this is that nowit matches the overall presentation of the figure better. Without the metallic paint it looks like it could have come with the figure, and in my opinion the best upgrades integrate so well that it's hard to tell they were purchased separately.

Got the kit in the mail. It's really, really bad. The 3d printed kits from Go Better and ZX are much better. Going to go over things in more detail before posting something more in-depth.
Basically…
Changed aesthetics from redners (metallic paint finishes are gone), simplified design aesthetics compared to other options, oversized blast effect pegs that don't even fit the back pack, base plastic colors that don't match (even complete mismatches), and more hollow plastic than expected.
