Legacy Metroplex Reveal
Now that he's officially revealed, closing this. Continue above please. Thanks!

I mean he always looked more like a fort max body than a Metro body imo. Suppose work mode could match better i guess??
Fenrys
Now the ultimate question for me. Is he G1 enough to work as an upgraded body of the original Metroplex? Considering selling my T30 one considering what the aftermarket on those is these days.
Bob Schoonover
The way the weapon splits and then recombines for alt-mode is pretty flippin' cool
Capperclawed
im FLOORED with how they handled the 'work mode', such an incredible reinterpretation of a, honestly pretty silly original mode.
Kaynowa
He doesnt even have a minicon port so even if you have the originak drill bit, you can't do shit wkth him. Disheartening but the main guy looks good without a doubt
Fenrys
Gotta admit, he does look good, and pretty faithful to the original
I wouldn't say he fails at being a homage to G1 Metroplex. A homage is nothing more that something inspired by or being referential to something that came before it. And like you said, he's definitely inspired by G1 Metroplex.

TBH im just happy that it seems like we're leaving city formers behind for at least a little bit. im on the bandwagon of not liking base modes cause theyre just splits robots, so big proper alt modes are exciting imo, even if the ark was a little hinky.
My dad worked in oil refineries his whole life in some pretty major areas, so ive got a soft spot for things like bucket wheel excavators. that paired with having a Megalo Convoy as a kid, im thinking im all in on the weird nostalgia bait alone.
its so hard to tell if this will happen at all, like eventually yea, but the fact that they made sure kingdom slammer compatible with the T30 one makes me think theyre going to focus on other titans for a while still. Im happy about that honestly. even though he's nearing 9 years old, Metroplex still at least has a generations titan. maybe theyll pull a reissue like they did with Devy? but i dont have high hopes for a whole new mold any time soon.
i think what he's implying is, Megalo Convoy was intended to be a g1 Metroplex homage, but since it failed at being a G1 homage, this titan class will also fail to homage the g1 character since its near identical .
Which i think i disagree with, so long as im interpreting your comment correctly… i think Megalo is inspired by G1 metroplex, less aims to replicate him, hence the drastic change in alt mode and the silly robot extension gimick. i think he's inspired the same way Hot Shot is inspired by Hot Rod, and the way Armada Scavenger is inspired by g1 constructions. theyre just gently themed after those classic characters, but are still new characters in their own right.
there's nothing more Transformers than having 100 of the same character, who are all unique bots in their own ways.

How the hell did it “fail” to homage the character it very clearly homages?
C16
Yeah, because it's a homage not a remake.
Kaynowa
Not entirely G1 through and through
BigRed
How is the toy of a character that succesfully homages the original Metroplex in likeness while standing as it's own thing a "failed" homage?
WishfulThinking
Those are good choices, aside from LG Fort Max not being able to open up his legs.
That's exactly what I DIDN'T want from The Ark. Save big Transformers for actual big Transformers. That slot could have gone to a new mold Metroplex or a pretool for a new mold Metroplex as Metrotitan. Or even Titan Brave Maximus, who never saw an American release despite having an imported cartoon that featured the character.
I'd just as soon buy him individually.
Yeah, I'd like to see a new G1 Metroplex for sure.
Fair enough. For me, Cybertron Metroplex was a failed attempt to give us a G1 Metroplex homage…so this is nowhere even near my radar.
Kaynowa
Cite your sources, kids. Also i think JTPrime is active on their forums too so "originated" is a bit of a stretch

I look at it this way…
Of course, they'll steal from us. We're the best in the biz. View attachment 29470067

My apartment only has room for so many titans. that number being two lol. ive got the takara legends fort max, and ER Scorpo for my headmasters main cast shelf. The ark seemed really cool in concept, just a big ass transformer with no silly base mode, just a scaled up generations scheme. that and Mainframe was wicked, but he just didnt seem as refined as something like omega or Scorpo. Though all of the WFC Titans put T30 Metroplex and TR Fort Max to absolute shame, feel wise.
Im still trying to figure out if im going to want this titan metro, or if its just making me nostalgic and i want to try and hunt down an original… guess ill know what im feeling more once its properly revealed.
Man… a full on Unicron Trilogy titan; such a lovely thing to see coming. shows were lame but the toys were incredible, i think thats a pretty common stance on UT. happy to see these characters finally getting love again. as a 24yo dude, This is my G1.
im just happy i was able to do that, and yall provided better direction than that site had. here's to really, really hoping its not just a rumor. INB4 theyre like "HERE'S CORE CLASS ENERGON GOBLIN "

It’s always funny to see people link to an article from another site about a rumor that originated here

This will be the second titan I'll be skipping after The Ark. Not keen on the rumor of CM also being the base for Shattered Glass Metroplex in Metrotitan colors, either.
