Hasbro‘s Wizards Of The Coast division (previously a subsidiary) has opened up a new digital games division called New Raleigh-Durham Studio to develop AAA titles (for PC and Consoles) based on Hasbro properties.
This new division is lead by game industry veterans from big companies such as WB Games (Hitman series, Batman: Arkham series, etc.).
As first announced during Hasbro’s 2021 Investor Event, this new studio is currently aiming to produce games for Transformers, G.I. Joe, Micronauts, and Ouija.
As the first project, this North Carolina-based company will tackle G.I. Joe as a 3rd Person Action-Adventure game. The studio is now hiring for various positions such as Art Director, Lead Animator, Lead Game Designer, and Technical Director.
During a recent interview with Stifel Investment Bank, Wizards Of The Coast CEO Chris Cocks stated that Hasbro is aspiring to have a fully-fledged in-house digital games division to cater to a demanding video game market.
It won’t be long before we hear about other games including Transformers.

Duel Fight Transformers Beast Wars: Beast Warriors' Strongest Decisive Battle remake please.

Would make sense, those games had someone new directing them while Devastation had the same director as Metal Gear Rising
Skylanderformer
I see…I see. Nova prime as a bonus character would have been fun regardless.
WolverineDragon
I would consider Korra and tmnt to be outliers to an otherwise great studio. Nier Automata, Bayonetta 2 and Astral Chain shows how great they can be at making games.

Devastation was made on a much smaller budget compared to that of Platinum’s main titles as well as those of the High Moon games. And as far as post-game goes, I do find the game to be much more rewarding to play on higher difficulties, both the main campaign and the challenges. Given the way Korra and TMNT, the fact that Devastation was as good as it under similar restraints is kind of a miracle
Skylanderformer
Which were…a little diversion at best, and filler at worst. Also there's difficulty runs to unlock Magnus mode and stuff, and achievements.
Skylanderformer
That's the point. Free roam would be much appreciated.
Autobot N
There's those challenge missions I guess
WolverineDragon
What post game? All you do is replay the story again.
Skylanderformer
Devastation isnt bad, but it isn't great either…. Postgame is trash, and story is not too good. Compared to Wfc and Foc.
Skylanderformer
I know absolutely nothing about G.I joe and your idea sounds awesome. Given the limited knowledge I have about shooter games, sounds like it would fit if done right.
And given the most accurate shooter game I've ever played is PVZ: BFN on the switch, you could feasably slap a transformer skin and could be fine, assuming you add headmasters, combiners and etc.

Let\'s hope we can get some GOOD games like the Cybertron ones & Devastation and not lame things like that Cyberverse XCOM thing.
These WFTC games apparently being AAA may imply some genuine quality, for the most part.
Eric
Yeah, I doubt this will last long.
WolverineDragon
WFC and FOC sold pretty well from what I gathered and they were original takes on the IP.
Dirge121
You also need the IP to not be associated with kids toys if you want mainstream appeal.
The movie games sold pretty well because they were cashing in on a mainstream adaption, other attempts didn’t have that luxury.
WolverineDragon
All you need is a dev team who will put in the effort to give us high quality Joe and TF games.

I can't help but think G.I. Joe has insane amounts of potential when it comes to Third or First Person Shooters. Particularly more Role-based games. Say, give us a Joe-based game with a good campaign and missions playing as different characters, and then with multiplayer you could easily do an APEX-styled Battle Royale, on Cobra Island or something like that. And you could also have some pretty wicked Objective gamemodes.
As for transformers… I personally love the idea of a third person shooter mmo. And as the game grows you can add more and more to it, including new cities on cybertron, new planets to explore, figure out how to use Headmasters or titans or combiners, overall it could get insanely badass.
Skylanderformer
Actually, I like that. I'll give my take on it. In certain modes, everyone plays as a combiner team. So I could have menasor on the decepticon side, and defensor on the autobots. When everyone has a "super meter" charged, they can all combine. Team leader controls combiner by giving little text commands. People who have the legs are in charge of movement, and the arms take weapons. You try to take down the other combiner. The idea is you have to work as a team, and communication is key. Every single member has unique abilities, but the combiner has more, as each team member has access to two powers. For example, a person playing with motormaster has a lighting blast in combined mode, and can send off blackjack or someone as a drone. And leg part players, who can switch with arm part players like scramble city.
Skylanderformer
Thank you for the clarification.
WolverineDragon
I assume the number 2 is a typo and you meant the first titanfall.
