We have something quite interesting to show you this morning. An image has surfaced via Chinese platform Tieba, showing what seems to be our possible first look at the test shots of Masterpiece Shouki.
Takara Tomy revealed in 2019 their plans for a Masterpiece Trainbot Combiner Raiden, a Japanese exclusive character and toy from 1987. We had very few updates on this project over the time, and now we have a possible look at two test shots of one of the Trainbots: Shouki, in robot and train mode. Robot mode looks pretty similar to the sketch revealed via the Transformers Generations Book 2021.
Take this with a grain of salt until we get an official confirmation. In the mean time, you can see the mirrored image on this news post and then sound off your expectations on the 2005 Board!

Regarding Yukikaze, for those who haven’t already been doing so, a great trick for putting less stress on the knees is to slide them before folding all the leg panels around them, rather than sliding them last per the instructions. I’ve always held onto the direct sides of the slider when shifting the knees and have yet to see any wear on them

They all look great together.

Yup, completely broke. Was more my fault though, instead of trying to force it to slide over, I should have lubed it first. Haven't had any trouble with the other leg, but that was my experience.

Im about to buy Yukikaze in a couple of weeks when i have the money for it and i was wondering about his knees too. Is it like a batch error or something that can be tracked or do i buy one and hope i get lucky?

Pulled from the wall? Did it crack? I have slid it from side to side for about 10-15 minutes and I don't think its gotten worse but like I said I don't want to take it off the shelf a 5 years from now when the plastic is a bit more brittle to have it break on me. Especially for the price they are I'd rather not have to replace and pay aftermarket prices.

Mines had trouble sliding over, i would have to rock it back and forth to move it over. It wasn't until I tried to just slide it over,(its not really a far distance) that I saw that it had pulled the rod from the wall
Mitchell Moxley
Its a bit harder sliding it over to the the inner side and thats where the stress/scratch marks are. How rough were you with the rod?
TameTyrant
My first copy had cracked knees right out of the box. My second copy was fine and hasn't developed cracks yet. I don't think if seen them crack outside of the defect from the factory.

Are you having a hard time sliding them over? I had to lube the rod and pin before I could get the leg to slide over comfortably. Unfortunately I had already broken the other trying to slide the leg over basically warped and stressed the housing before it broke off.

So I have a couple questions concerning Yukikaze knees. I was wondering if anyones copy has broken after opening it and why does it break the first place. I just got my copy during Blackfriday and as a chug collector I'm loving him but I've noticed some stress/scratch marks on the black rod that I'm pretty sure were'nt there before. Itsgot me kinda worried that it'll break in a couple years and I won't be able to replace it.

I can get you pictures later today. As for why that's easy. They're very well articulated and they just look better than the mp hands we have gotten. This is also true with Skyfires hands. The fingers are a bit longer on skyfire than Id like but the ability to use all the fingers really does help with dynamic posing. As for Raidens hands, the only gripe I have is the thumb. Its a little restrictive, If they fix that it will be as good if not better than 3rd party hands which have been king for a while now. This is just my opinion and in no way fact, just how I feel about them.

For those of us curious can you show pictures and why you like these? Articulation? Design?

Thanks for the idea of using Shouki's legs as a temporary waist piece for Raiden. It's nice seeing this all coming together.

The more I mess with suiken and seizan the more I like the hands they're using for the combiner. I kinda hope we see these on other mp's in the future.

It definitely will be able to stand, most of the torso weight is in the arms. We've seen numerous prototypes standing unassisted as well.

Agreed and that actually looks pretty good. I'm assuming the legs aren't stable enough or it's too difficult to attach Kaen to the legs or they would have done something like that. The connection point for Kaen looks very small to me. I'm very worried about Raiden being back heavy because of Shouki's legs and most of Kaen being so far back. Also the Raiden ankles on mine do not seem to bend forward enough to be able to counteract the weight. I'm concerned that Raiden may require a stand to stand up at all which would be a huge pain to anyone that doesn't already own a stand and didn't buy the box set version of Kaen.

Takara designed a really great 5-man combiner.
