We have something really impressive to share with you. The official Transformers China Weibo account have just uploaded a video showing off a new Transformers War For Cybertron Promotional 3D projection.
This is sure an astonishing way to promote the 25 Beast Wars anniversary in China. A big space in Taikoo Li mall in Chengdu surprised local citizens with 3D projection featuring the Ark, Optimus Prime and Optimus Primal out of the screen and inviting people to join the event. According to the information shared, you can enjoy this attraction until August 20th.
You can watch the original video here or a YouTube mirror plus some screencaps after the break. We are sure your optics will be really impressed with the images and video! Let us know your impressions on the 2005 Board!

There's another promotional projection, this time focused on the new Kingdom toys.

As noted by several previous posters, it's not an autostereoscopic display (lenticular or otherwise) — it's merely 4k and large, and the animations use tricks to simulate 3D from a sweet spot at one corner (which isn't fundamentally new; e.g., peephole shadowboxes trick the eye with arrangements of 2D elements by mandating a specific viewpoint). This type of video billboard has now appeared in South Korea, China and Japan. Most nonspecialist news coverage breathlessly calls the effect "3D" but Gizmodo is more skeptical, and provides an animated gif from a different angle that breaks the illusion.
The Shinjuku billboard (vision.xspace.tokyo) seems to be managed by a company called "Cross Space" (xspace.tokyo) but they don't list the locations in China and South Korea, so they don't seem to be the technology provider.

I was wondering how they appeared to come out of the screen. I only just realised on seeing that second promotional idea that it’s a simple trick of
Very clever. Actually had me going, I’m slightly embarrassed to admit.

I wish there was Starscream or Dinobot! I'd loved to be there to see

Found out that the company behind this is LiamTronics. They have had this screen for some time.
Here's another official video of that screen in action via their official YouTube account. Impressive indeed.

This is absolutely amazing and I wish we had something similar here in the U.S. However, it would likely be in L.A., NYC, or somewhere else I can't physically see it, so I suppose online in China is just as well.

These screens and the videos for them are relatively new and you can be at any angle on the ground and it will give you the correct perspective from the view you are. Hadn’t seen it on a building before, only at a trade show, but again it was up high on a corner like this.
You can see from the very quick frame shots the perspective and angle changes. Around the 25 second mark shows this
I’m assuming the tech works similar to the 3ds, but there is something about the corner and it being above also..
Can’t wait for this to progress

I know it's common to think 'wow cool this gonna be Japan' whenever someone sees 汉字(Chinese character or Kanji in Japanese). But google Chengdu if you don't know where it is. At least you know what the Hasbro logo looks like, right?

pretty cool

Meanwhile, here in the UK……
Yep, nothing, zilch, nada, zip, no cool Transformers promos, like, ever 😐

Oh hey it's this thing. I remember this being all over the internet when it first debuted. It's basically a giant screen for ads that uses an optical illusion to make things look 3D. I'm pretty sure you have to be standing at the right angle to make this work properly. It's pretty cool.

I read up on it – as I thought, there's nothing 3d about it. It's just a regular wrap around screen with a sweet spot for viewing it. We have not entered the age of BTTF 2 Jaws type stuff just yet.
There are lots of other videos they put on it, it is not TF specific.

War for Cybertron? But is that not MP-10 and MP-32?
