Third party company KFC Toys have shared, via their Facebook account, an extensive color prototype gallery of their new MX-27 Janssen (Masterpiece Scale G1 Perceptor).
This is sure an impressive take on the Autobot scientific for the Masterpiece scale. The figure shows off a cartoon accurate robot and microscope mode, and he can also transform into his third “vehicle mode as it was possible with the original G1 toy. It will include a plethora of accessories: 5 interchangeable faces, 2 IDW style heads, 3 guns, 1 blast effect, laboratory beaker, test tube and funnel. Do you want more? Three non-transformable Perceptor, Brawn and Bumblebee mini-figures are included for you to recreate the G1 episode “Microbots”.
There’s still no concrete information about price or release date, but you can check all the mirrored images after the jump. Interested in adding this new Masterpiece Perceptor for your collection? Share your impressions on the 2005 Boards!

Sort of off-topic but they also work well with Sky Lynx. I was thinking about getting a friend to resin print some smaller cast members for me to try my hand at painting.

Killer price for an amazing perceptor. IMO, better than the FT red wine version.

This is really, really good. Perceptor being in color while the rest is in black and white is a real nice contrast.
As it happened in front of him not long. Not to mention he did fight a size changing Krang early on.
Currywurst
Really now?
I was seriously hoping there would be news.
Ah well… Let's just patiently await his release according to Keith's masterplan. He'll come someday.

Still wondering if they will ever release the toy colour version.
Curium
I wonder how long it will take Donny (just assuming) to get his head around the concept of mass shifting.

Yeah I love em! I don't have Perceptor yet, but I have Skyfire. They'd be perfect with the city/ planet bots I think as well! (Earthrise Scorpinok, Studio Cell [Unicron], Titans Fortress Maximus, etc).
Also, I think this Bumblebee is better scaled than the Perceptor one, to everyone else. It's from Micro Toy Box. I paid 6.99 US at Walmart for the set of 5 micro toys. Bumblebee (on a Starscream card) was the one visible in the window. The other 4 random toys I got were Barbie, My Little Pony, a teddy bear and a Rock Em Sock Em Robot (yeah, just one).View attachment 30104953 View attachment 30104954

Getting Skyfire made me finally investigate the shrunk autobots. Need more!

Thanks, that seems a good summary.
It does seem like Tesla is less of a QC risk but I also think it has less charm, and not just because of the accessories.
(Having said that, those accessories are awesome. If anyone wants to sell me some of those on their own, I'd be keen to chat!)

yeah its a bit annoying simple redecos can sometimes take forever. i wonder if they decided not to do the toy deco because the FT opne had a toy helmet etc already. personally, i'm waiting on the black microchange inspired version. hopefully for them they get it out before FT decides its a good redeco or one of the KO houses that KO FT stuff decides people need the black deco.

I would be half-temped by the black Magnificus recolor. I was going to be very tempted if he was $120 like both FT and XTB Perceptor finally sold at. The $148 pre-order only got Black Perceptor on my ShowZ "watch list".
The XTB Ultra Magnus and now Fioravanti all came out in rapid succession with the different colors. I too find it odd that the Toy and Black recolors didn't occur last year. Also didn't understand why Janssen was $129 and the recolors would be $20 more. Looks like Tesla may have recovered some from that price cut, but still lots of places selling him for under $190 rather than prices jumping up to $300 or $400.
@Sandstormer In the end I'm not sure if there was a clear cut "winner" in the Perceptor Wars. The price and mini-figures definitely meant that XTB was appealing. I still see that FT Tesla 2.0 took a huge price cut and sold for about the same price as XTB for a while. Can't say that XTB "won", but it sure looks like FT "lost" in that battle. Maybe each one is waiting for the other to announce another release? Although with the flood of MP Perceptores in 2022 they both are available and in no huge need of a second run.

I'm in same boat with the Medicus redeco. Paid in full on SZ & xtb too busy w/ other stuff I guess

Meanwhile, it seems that there is still no news on the 'youth' version. ShowZ put it up t's for preorder over 18 months ago. I asked if they had news and they've heard nothing. I messaged XTB on Facebook and got a reply saying "I'll look into it", but that was a week ago now.
It's so pretty and needs to exist!

Well, after reading almost the entire thread and watching countless videos, I still can't decide whether to enlist this lad.
Worse still, i've frazzled my mind with views, facts and 'science' to such a degree that i've no idea whether i'm trying to talk myself out of it or into it at this point.
Baffling times, my friends. I'm sure Percy himself wouldn't agree but i'm starting to wonder if there's such a thing as too much information!

A great price for Janssen this weekend at BBTS. $94.99 + $4 shipping is pretty good. Save $4 by getting the dented box version.
Master X MX-27 Janssen (With Bonus)
They also have FT Outrider/Trailbreaker for $134.99 which is okay, I suppose. Seems like that's the normal price from non-USA retailers.
Lazerlips
They certainly are, they already found the needed part and need my shipping info, and they will provide a shipping quote.
