Takara Tomy Transformers Twitter have uploaded some official in-hand images of the new Premium Finish PF WFC-04 Starscream.
Premium Finish Starscream is a new redeco of the War For Cybertron Siege mold. While many fans would have expected a “clean” version of the mold without the original battle damage effect, this new redeco still shows the weathering effect but in a completely different shade which is more noticeable in alt mode and more subtle in robot mode.
You can already pre-order this figure via our sponsors links below. It’s scheduled for release in February 2022. Check all the images after the break and the let us know your impressions on the 2005 Board!

The previous delay announcement from Amazon Japan said Ratchet was expected to be released on March 20.
I just got a shipping notification, so looks like they moved it up a week. Nice little surprise going into the weekend.

I feel like almost all of the movie bots would be better suited with a paint scheme like SS Sentinel Prime's, where the base figure is entirely or mostly gray, black, gunmetal plastic, and the bright colors are all paint apps added onto the panels (compared to the usual scheme of colored plastic with dark details painted on). If you look below at Sentinel and Savio's custom Ratchet, you can see the similarities in the way the colors are laid out, with all the under details being dark and only the panels brightly colored, and it really makes the figure pop

Because he’s a mid reviewer.

@savio-prime i bought from taobao. It is water decal. Some area i need to remove existing decal.
savio-prime
I love it! Where did you get the decals/stickers for the back of the vehicle and the inner legs?
I used to! Been a few years since the last one I recall doing.

Do you do commissions btw?
lord ginrai
Not quite. AliExpress (and other international Chinese sellers) are significantly marked up compared to domestic pricing. And often (depending on how expensive the figure is) they charge shipping on top of that.
in Japan, prices are the same both online and in retail stores.
let me turn it around for you. It would be like me saying Hasbro overcharges for their figures because I need to pay a bunch of shipping if I wanted to get them delivered from the US to Japan.
octobotimus
3p comparison is the same, it’s technically the same price as in China, just with added shipping. Just like the PF line.
lord ginrai
He is quite literally wrong though. This figure is sold for $30, not $40.
Having to pay for shipping has nothing to do with how much the manufacturer is charging for their product. It’s simply an inaccurate statement.
Maybe he’s quoting like a BigBadToyStore price or something? In this day and age it really doesn’t make sense to buy overpriced goods through a local importer.
I mean, fine if someone does but then they shouldn’t go around and complain about the fact that they overpaid.
Your 3rd party analogy doesn’t really work, as this is not a case of Taobao (domestic) vs AliExpress (international) prices. This figure is readily available to consumers worldwide for $30 before shipping through the various Japanese e-tailers.
octobotimus
I mean people who don’t live in Japan have to pay a different price.
3p figures are also insanely cheaper if you live in China, yet I don’t go around saying how every single thing is actually a great deal if you factor in how in China it’s way cheaper….

Kind of regret pre order the “premium finish”

Disappointed tbh. For the price PF Bayverse Megs is basically covered head to toe in paint and looks stunning. PF Ratchet should have done the same. If not, at least more than this lol. This look probably should have been the vanilla default paint loadout right out of the gate.
savio-prime
Eh… It's a nice improvement over the original. Head looks much better painted. Paint apps on the feet are definitely ugly.
However, with about $12 worth of Testors enamel paints, a clear coat spray can, and time put in for painting… I'm happy with how mine (simple mod for the roof rack too) turned out.

I knew I was in for a treat when the still for the video is the hammer… I knew right away there was real maturity happening there. A masterpiece review….
I couldn’t make it past 30 seconds of whining.

Best looking Premium Finish figure yet!
They did a terrific job with all the additional paint apps. Looks so much better than the SS release. I don’t understand the hate.
Only thing I don’t care for is the “battle damage” on his toes, but that should be easy enough to remove.
Chefatron is wrong on the price. This thing goes for a little under $30 dollars. Looks like he’s quoting the MSRP, and has no clue on how pricing convention works in Japan lol.
Keep in mind that TT charges only about $3 more than for their regular mainline releases. Hasbro and TT are two very different companies. These aren’t Hasbro releases, so it doesn’t make sense to compare them to Hasbro mainline pricing.
Don’t expect Wheeljack to come with any accessories that the original didn’t come with. These are merely repaints. Also, at this point, I think the pixelated battle damage on the WFC figures is a given.
The other two releases will be movie Jetfire and WFC Shockwave.

Because Bayverse bad even in toys (also not to be rude but the pose is kind of trash)
