Twitter user @iamconnorwoods has shared new images of Rise Of The Beasts Mirage vehicle mode for your viewing pleasure.
The images gives a very close look at Mirage alt mode: A silver Porsche with a big blue stripe on the hood. We can also spot a small Autobot insignia.
See the images attached to this news post after the break and then sound off on the 2005 Board!

It's almost as if tracks were designed with spaces that super high speed cars can slide into with the hope the safety cell is enough to save the driver! It's as if tracks don't have inconvenient things like curbs or turns that require going below a speed which an F1 car can create downforce, which they need to actually maintain grip on the track! It's almost as if roads weren't made for hyper specialized race cars in mind!
But in all seriousness I'm only partially wrong, and I'm also being a bit facetious. There are 5 tracks in an F1 season that are road track courses. Monaco, Singapore, Montreal, Melbourne and Sochi. Melbourne is more of a hybrid course but people generally consider it a road course even if it is more forgiving than the others.
Road courses have either no or very minimal run-off spaces(the grass portions of a track designed to bleed energy out of a runaway F1 car). This means that road courses are super treacherous and even dangerous. Monaco itself is considered an amazingly dangerous course because the cars often have to drive at dangerously low speeds, which mean the cars don't have a lot of downforce giving them grip onto the road. It's one of the very few F1 races that requires regular use of Safety Cars to keep drivers from killing themselves.
The reality is that sure. Surface wise there isn't too much difference from a road and most race tracks. But thing is that tracks are designed for the cars, while roads aren't designed for these kinds of hyper performance race cars. The spectacular crashes at Monaco illustrate this fact.
Can't stress how low speeds is super dangerous for F1 cars. The Pit zone on any F1 course is super dangerous because cars are restricted to 60kph/37mph. At that speed F1 cars are practically driving on ice. Cars that fail to stop in time or use proper technique have crashed into multiple members of the pit crew can cause multiple serious injuries, and these things happen as recently as 2018.

Perhaps because when it comes to live action movies based on inherently outlandish premises in an otherwise realistic setting there's a sliding scale of suspension of disbelief? If a Transformers movie takes place on an otherwise realistic Earth then by the internal logic of that universe an F1 car alt-mode is still a stupid, impractical alt-mode for an Autobot that is trying to hide their presence on Earth. It shouldn't be hard to see where they're coming from when they say it's unrealistic.
Personally I'll never understand why some fans think they're somehow a better fan (what does that even mean? Being a fan of something isn't an achievement, you just like a thing!) based on their preferences.
Anyway, if Mirage was still an F1 car it'd be funny if during a chase scene his wheels went flying off or he suffered some other catastrophic mechanical failure that F1 cars are prone to.

And yet a F1 car that skids off the track onto the grass can still recover back on course. Funny that.

The only toy of it that exists for it is the Fansproject Dragstrip, haha.
It's a cool looking car but also not particularly good. The same issues of F1 cars, unsurprisingly, exist on this car despite mechanical and electronic assists.

Brilliantly said! I couldn't agree more! I will never understand why some "fans" try to actually justify complete disregard, by saying what would, and wouldn't make sense in real life…for a movie!!!! Or that a faithful G1 adaption of Transformers is impossible! It's Hollywood!!! Everything is possible!!! Don't tell me it's impossible to get an F1 on the street, GOT had Dragons in the freaking air, and what about The Fast & Furious, nothing about that Franchise makes sense half the time, but that doesn't stop the movies from being awesome!!
Rodimus Prime
My only complaint is that it suggests that they are trying to keep the back door open on this and Bee being connected to the Bayverse, since it suggests that they don't want to use the characters from 2007.
Afterburner
It really doesn't have anything to do with whether an F1 can drive on regular streets. Number one, this is a movie. Suspension of disbelief has been needed for much dumber things in these sub par films. Much, much dumber things. At least this one would serve fan interest and the whole point of using TransFormers instead of just any robots.
But beyond that it isn't even necessary for him to be an F1 yet channel Mirage. What probably isn't a great idea though is to look almost exactly like another even more famous character. That shows an incredible lack of care when it comes to what we care about as fans. So no, the fact that he "can't be an F1" would never excuse what he is in this case. They just don't care at all and its incredibly blatantly obvious to any fan. Why should we support this? Far as I can tell, they don't want our support so I'm not sure why anyone would fight on their side and against your own long term interests as a fan other than as some knee-jerk "omg fandoms are terrible" reaction. Objectively, these films suck for TF fans, there is no way around it. No other major fandom puts up with this level of completely unrelated material with their branding slapped all over it.

Oh man, Mirage would look GOOD as that

F1 cars are absolutely unable to drive on actual roads. They're cars designed to only ever exist on tracks.
There IS a take on a street legal F1 car…but it would be anachronistic for a movie based in the 90s…

G2 is mostly regarded as the end of the G1 era, as that's where continuity breaks for Beast Wars.
And the two Prime characters in that picture are "G1-ified", of which there are over a hundred thread pages lamenting or defending this fact in the reveal page for these toys.
So I can see what he's saying.

Look, Hasbro has decided to approach Transformers like they and Marvel approaches Avengers. You generally see some B-rate characters tossed in to fill out assortments. But you'll almost always see Spiderman, Iron Man, Captain America, The Hulk, etc. hanging out in the line somewhere. And, usually, it's a variation of the same tried and true theme. Why? Because those characters sell.
When Beast Wars came along, Optimus Prime wasn't enough to sell Transformers. This spawned a reinvention.
Armada was something of a recognition that Optimus Prime DOES sell toys. And when you really get down to brass tacks, Armada was almost a revisit to what a G1 season 6 Transformers might have looked like with Micromasters. We've been on a spiral toward "Neo-G1" ever since and have ended up here.
The only side-rail that has proven time and again to sell like hotcakes is the live action movies…and Hasbro accommodates that.
CobraKai
Lol. As you show G2 inspired Transformers which was a reinvention of the franchise. Thanks.
Nemesisprime1975
Yeah I think the altmode they have given him will navigate the terrain better.
Jeddostotle7
Not just out of place, a Formula One car probably wouldn't even really be able to drive on normal streets. It would be cool if they'd been able to build an F1 looking car that actually could drive on normal streets, but that not only would've been fairly expensive and intensive, it still wouldn't solve the problem of looking quite conspicuous.
Nemesisprime1975
I haven't read most ofthe posts but if this is set in Peru or an area like that wouldn't a formula 1 car driving around the streets look out if place? At least with this altmode mirage doesn't stand out as much.
Just a thought…
Jeddostotle7
*shows a pic where half the contents aren't G1*
StarMaverick
Hmmm well for some strange reason Hasbro clearly doesn't agree with you…I don't need to even begin to wonder why that is…
View attachment 29306390 Say whatever you want…G1 will always, and forever be home for the Transformers Brand. It will always come back to G1.

Mid-engines will do that to you.
Relevant car wishlist for Transformers moving forward. If they do another movie in the 90s the nerd in me wants to see a Bugatti EB110. Considering they got the Bugatti license for the Veyron it'd be cool to see Hasbro/Paramount work out a license for the EB110.

Now there’s some franchises that need reinventing
CobraKai
News Flash! Products always need to reinvent themselves. Especially tired franchises from the 1980s. G1 can only go so far. It gets stale and boring. Then while your there with your G1 this, G1 that, Hasbro will be losing customers burnt out on G1 and failing to attract new customers who has seen G1 and don’t care. Then no more toys. As a company, you can’t just cater to only the hardcore fan base. Reinvention breathes new life to stale franchises and shows potential new customers a take on the franchise that may catch their eye. It’s far more important than something as trivial as “articulation”. You don't gain new customers with that. I love G1, but there’s always room for new concepts, designs, and story. Hasbro, and any company for that matter, need to keep things fresh to stay relevant.
