Transformers: Rise of the Beasts Set Photos – Possible First Look at Mirage Porsche Alt Mode

Coming to us once again from friend of the site Protoman on Twitter and 2005 Board member superhomme, we have a small batch of set photos for Transformers: Rise of the Beasts where it was shooting at both Atwater Downtown and Place Ville Marie in Montreal Quebec Canada. 

However, what we think fans will be most interested in is a possible first look at Mirage’s alt-mode in the movie, a silver Porsche – and there are two of them present in fact. (Perhaps this may also open the door for a Masterpiece G1 Jazz happening down the road as well?)

You can check out photos after the break, and stay tuned as we’ll likely have more movie news coming in over the next few weeks and months.

Oooh one of those has two tone bumpers and side skirts with black lowers, and the other is full silver. Wonder if we'll get continuity errors in the film when they switch cars. :) 

I'm not sure, but I think the one on the right is the 'stunt' car. And the left is the closeup one. From what I can see of the interior the left one looks like a full interior while I think I see some weird stuff in the other one.

Also are you sure they have two tone bumpers? They look the same to me but I could be wrong.

That's from the new Iron Man movie.

So they are OK with lending Jazz to the MCU, but can't put him in their own movie :mad:

In g1 they had to be physically rebuilt for new alt modes. In bayverse they could scan but it seemed plausible because of their robot mode design style. Other uses of scanning always seemed odd except maybe TFA. Prime and cybertron already had their earth kibble when the scanned the modes. TFA kind of morphed but that fit their aesthetic. The new BB aesthetic doesnt look like scanning will be very believable but I don't really care.

Side note: rebellious silver and blue round sports car isn't mirage or jazz…

I could see Smokescreen as a Dodge Viper. I think they were around then in the 90's. Not sure though.

Maybe it just requires a lot of energon to reformat.

Followed by alt paralysis and slowmo first transformation. So not something to do oft hand.

You do make a good point about the ability to scan on the fly. Why wouldn’t they scan different vehicles? However, requiring severe trauma to get a new body/vehicle just doesn’t make sense, at least to me. We’re talking about robots that not only have the ability to transform into different land and air vehicles, but are even able to transform their hands into different weapons, both melee and ranged. It doesn’t make any sense that they wouldn’t have the ability to scan on the fly, and would, instead, have to go through sever bodily trauma just to get a new vehicle mode.

Maybe it just requires a lot of energon to reformat.

I've never liked the scan on the fly. If they could do that, why would they ever be in one "car" for more than like a day? Like, wouldn't you want a new car every day if it were you? Or at least like 10 favorites you rotated through?

If the movie presented the bots as doing that it would be one thing, but it doesn't.

Requiring severe trauma to get a new body is just more interesting in terms of story telling.
