Via Weibo user Samuel1239 we have our first look at the gray prototype of Fans Toys FT-26 Hoist (Masterpiece Scale).
This figure is Fans Toys take on the Autobot tow truck for the Masterpiece scale. The prototype reveals an impressive cartoon accurate sculpt in both modes. A great alternative for your Masterpiece Autobot collection.
Price and release date are yet to be revealed, but you can now see all the mirrored images on this news post and then share your impressions on the 2005 Board!

I'm waiting for Fanstoys Grapple and Inferno. Hopefully not long

Anyone got both the FansToys and Takara versions for some comparison pics? I think I’m leaning towards FansToys because of the alt mode but some side by side photos couldn’t hurt.

Really did not want to like this one not because it's fanstoys but because it's Hoist.
A really good figure looks much better in hand, he is on the tall side but scale chart accuracy does not bother me so much.
Can retire my badcube Hoist now who could never stand up anyway

Damn, didn't realize the FT version was that tall. I'm glad the official is out now, easy choice. This has been one hell of a journey with these two characters years in the making, and now it's finally over!

I decided to give mine a look and while it has subpar friction that was holding mild poses, it was kind of loose. This is an easy fix and absolutely not a ratchet joint. The screw hole cover is easily accessible and runs to the inner most edge of the leg, barely a fingernail pluck and it was off. Barely a twist with a screw driver and he's holding full splits with no problem now.

Mine is the same. No friction whatsoever. Wasn’t that bad when I bought him, but he loosened up just sitting on the shelf.

From past Fans Toys figures, outward is usually friction, but you might want to watch some videos to confirm it, it's pretty common for reviewers to go through a figure's articulation and they will say if something is on a friction or ratchet joint.

The hips on mine are basically rag dolls in the outward direction. Is it supposed to be a friction joint or ratchet?
nemesisconvoy
I just tested the legs on my copy, they hold pretty well, both forward/back and out to the side.
chuckcjc
Are all of the hips ridiculously loose in the outward direction? No ratchets or tension whatsoever?
my Hoist can only do a straight leg A stance. Or else he will fall down because there is zero tension in the hips.

Fantastic dude appreciate it

Is this blurry pic sufficient?

Anyone got MP-56 Trailbreaker next to this figure as a comparison?

Do we uh….. want to know how the crotch wear happened?

Truth be told, I was kinda slightly concerned too!
The news was a relief.
