Courtesy of Blacklai’s Toybase we can share for you some in-hand images of the new Transformers Kingdom Voyager Maximal Grimlock.
Grimlock is a redeco with a new head of the Kingdom Voyager Dinobot mold, inspired by the Beast Wars Grimlock figure from 1997. Grimlock come packed with Mirage (which you can see some in-hand images on our previous news post) in the Amazon exclusive Battle Across Time Collection Deluxe WFC-K40 Autobot Mirage & Maximal Grimlock 2-pack.

What? I've always seen more of an anarcho-capitalist/libertarian bent here…
TFXProtector
I find that highly dubious. I've seen far worse on other boards and been privy to some things behind the scenes… We're the least offensive of them all, honestly.
If people avoid this place it's because they want to be everything the rules tell us not to be.
That's not someone I wish to converse with.
PlanckEpoch
To be fair it's been like that for a LONG time. TFW has always had the perception of being "liberal" or "PC" because we don't allow the usage of slurs and we ban politics left and right. Hell, TFW isn't anywhere near what I'd consider "liberal," but when a group like 4Chan who's so far down the line it's no surprise they see the site like this.
It's like people don't ever read.
If you think that all I'm doing is "shouting down" when I want to know environmental factors of people who have yellowing so that I and others can get a better understanding of why figures are affected and whether or not those who AREN'T affected might be or not at a later date.
I guess it's shouting down when I am effectively trying to say "Calm down, MAYBE it isn't such a wide spread problem. TFW is a small sample size and CANNOT reasonably be extrapolated to the entire TF Fandom." Because TF fans don't want to actually engage with their brains and think through things. We'd like to think the problems we're having are problems EVERYONE is having, and we all need to panic, bunker up, because our worlds are crashing down.
I'm not going to be a party to it and I'm going to call for moderation A discussion cuts both ways and sometimes you might not like what you might have to hear but in the interest of good faith discussion it needs to be seen.
TFXProtector
Yes! Exactly! There are posts all over Facebook groups with the same issues. Megatron (especially Siege, and to a lesser extent, Earthrise), as well as Soundwave, Jetfire, etc… All yellowing. It's not just TFW. It's happening.
My guess is they changed the type of plastics being used. I know some plastics are food-based (not sure they're used in these) and the others are Nylon, etc.
It's not just climate (though that's a part of it), it's happening and it sucks. I don't like it when people have legitimate complaints and the rest shout them down because it hasn't affected them, yet.
They're so cold and mechanical about it. Then they throw "first-world problems waaah" back at them and it's stupid. WTF are you even doing here if you're going to treat your fellow collector/board member like that? If your hobby doesn't matter enough to you to take it a bit more seriously, then don't come here and don't crap all over people (and their posts) because you're being you.
Robogeek28
When 4Chan folks avoid this place you know that things have gotten bad here.
Sadly I agree.

I'd be careful about "wide spread." TFW only represents a small slice of the Transformers fandom. I could count on one hand how many Transformers 4channers I've met who avoid TFW like the plague, or how many Seibertron users don't use TFW also.
Unless you've collated data across all Transformers fandom forums and communities, at best all you can say is that TFW users are experiencing issues. And again, it's still a worthless consideration if no one is talking about their factors so that people are worried can't even get any understanding of what might happen to their toys.
If you're not willing to be THAT concise, then all you're doing is fear mongering, which I'll always call out.

If you read over the thread I linked, then yeah, it does seem like a fairly wide spread problem. Lots of people mentioning yellowing on their ER Megatrons, Netflix Soundwaves, SS86 Jazzes, etc. My friend opened up a brand new SS86 Coronation Starscream the other day and it was discolored right out of the box (yellowing on the tailfin). All plastic discolors eventually as you said, but some of these figures aren't even a year old.

Pro tip. World is getting hotter when it gets hot and colder when it gets cold. Lived in Portland all my life. 39 years. We never snowed in Feb or March until the past few years. It's almost as if the global climate is changing significantly.
Again, I want to look at this from a semi-scientific process. People who have problems I'd love to hear what their environmental factors are. It's certain that some people are just going to be affected harder than others, especially so with global climate getting fucked up more and more. Our toys were NEVER going to be permanent. We can only hope that they can last as long as they can.
Dismissive? Are you trying to project? I'm trying to be REAL here. People like you want to think that this is such a WIDE SPREAD PROBLEM and that it's a DISASTER for everyone.

Just thought I'd check my Grimlock and looks like his shoulders and hip joints have gone a bit off-coloured as well, there are some little yellow splotches on the back of his left shoulder as well. That's a bit of a bummer.
RKillian
That's a little dismissive of problems when some people have 40 year old toys that are fine and stuff from the last few years is experiencing problems.
Dudicus
I'll admit I was hyperbolic in my initial reaction, but many WFC figures have been showing signs of yellowing, in case anyone hasn't seen this thread yet. Grimlock here is just the latest example, and I wouldn't be surprised to see more people posting yellowed Grimlocks in the near future. I keep my collection in similar conditions as yours, so realistically I don't expect that my figures will yellow even if other peoples' do. I can't help myself worrying about it anyway, but I guess that's just my problem.
Obnimaz
Several of my WFC figures from the past 3 years have gone green in certain places. Netflix Soundwave and Siege Megatron being some of the worst, and it's in that same way, where it's clearly certain plastic parts and not the whole thing, and doesn't seem to be related to light or air exposure. It isn't always the oldest figures. I am wondering if it was just some plastics and not every batch? Siege Soundwave has no greening and I've had him much longer than netflix soundwave. Weirdly I haven't noticed anything on my Grimlock figure

I have none on my copy so far

I always say that one of the WORST things about TFW is inflating issues that MIGHT just be confined to a few examples as some kind of global problem we all have.
Here's the thing. Literally yellowing problems is WORTHLESS if we don't know how humid your area is, the area you live in, how you store it, access to sunlight/artificial light, average temps of your area, etc. NONE of my figures have yellowed. I rarely let natural light into my room. I use bright LED bulbs to light up my room. My house is a non-smoking house. I live in the Pacific Northwest(Oregon/Washington) so we don't get THAT humid.
I have not noticed any kind of alteration or degradation on ANY of the nylon plastic on any of my figures. The only notable damage to anything is plasticizer leak from ROTF Bludgeon melting the plastic it's contacting.
Finally, remember that ALL plastics will eventually discolor with age. Shorter time for some, longer for others. Oxygen itself, heat, UV radiation from sunlight and trace amounts in fluorescent bulbs/tubes, reactions with environmental factors, body oils and other things on your hands, humidity, all factor in to color change in plastics. We don't know what is really a problem or not without knowing any of these factors for people who are affected. Hell, the cause itself still isn't exactly known, but these are all likely factors.

I too have Grimlock for offer. Mint, only xformed 2x.
Robogeek28
Thankfully my Grimlock is just fine, but it still sucks that there's yet another issue to keep an eye out for on a new figure.
Astrotanker
So far I have not seen anyone else's copy yellowed
Astrotanker
This could just be my copy
Dudicus
What on earth is happening, Hasbro? Plastic quality has certainly taken a nosedive in recent years. Guess I'd better sell my Grimlock before he yellows. And now I'm worried about Tigatron too. Sigh.
