Moving Picture Company (MPC), the masterminds behind the VFX of Disney’s Lion King “live-action” movie is undertaking the CGI work for Transformers: Rise Of The Beasts.
MPC is most known in the industry for its realistic take on animal CGI and movement. It’s not hard to speculate what sort of magic MPC will bring to the table this time (pssst… it’s Beastformers).
Apart from Lion King, MPC recently did the VFX for animals on Disney’s Cruella, Godzilla vs. Kong, Call Of The Wild, and Paramount’s Sonic The Hedgehog.
But wait, there’s more! If you are interested in working for Transformers: Rise Of The Beasts, MPC is hiring for the movie. Head on over to their official Linkedin page to apply.
Official Announcement:
“We’re excited to announce that Transformers: Rise of the Beasts is coming to MPC Film! We are now hiring #VFX artists and Production crew for this action-packed movie.

Glad to have confirmation, a little bit ago I found out that not only did mpc and scanline work together for gvk but that scanline was specifically brought on to do mecha godzilla so it seemed safe to assume that ilm would return for transformers

ILM is back as well!

yeah i think it's safe to assume Ilm isn't being replace, they've worked on all previous films and bumblebee was honestly their best work yet even being on a lower budget(to be fair the director having a lot of experience with 3d animation probably played a big part in this)

To kill Waspinator – what a wonderful phrase,
To kill Waspinator – Ain\'t no passing craze.
It means no insects for the rest of your days
It\'s Maximals-free philosophy
To kill Waspinator!
It\'s The Circle of Transforming!

This is probably one of the most dog dookie takes I ever heard. For one thing, ILM is a fantastic company that does incredible work but they are not the only good studio that makes good CGI in all of Hollywood (like Weta, for example)–that's just silly. Secondly, there is never only one studio working on the CGI of a film. Infinity War had 13 different SFX studios working on that film. All I'm saying is A) the notion that no film can have good CGI if it's not ILM is silly and B) blockbuster films usually don't have only one SFX studio working on them because that isn't feasible.
Also, look at the work they've done in films like the Lion King. As bad as it was, it looked so hyperrealistic it put reality to shame. How can you say that ILM can't even be challenged when other studios are capable of putting out work like that?
This is the most procapitalist take I've heard in a quick minute. The public pushed the studio to change the CGI so it's the public's fault that the company worked their employees to death. There were no alternatives to that situation at all…

This is great news. Especially if the Maximals and Predacons look like this.

What kind of monster are you? A cartoon character can't take his gloves off, it's horrendous, it's like a crime

I'm curious to see how the work of this studio translates to more mechanical animals, very interested.

I don't believe for a second that the Sonic redesign was thanks to fans, I distinctly recall a full week before the trailer was revealed that a Paramount investors release was already listing the Sonic movie as a delayed project.
I think it's more likely that test audiences had found it ugly and lame so they tried to pretend a change that was already going to happen was "for the fans!"
DarkRed401
another thing to note about the sonic redesign is the scene were he gets a bomb stuck to his hand doesn't make a lot of sense since his new design had gloves
GrimlockPrime19
Yh, bcs honestly I worry when changing the CGI company, bcs man, what was near perfection and great in those movies was CGI. I hope ILM is working on it as well
Novaburnhilde
You mean how his previous design was so terrible that basically everyone, fans of Sonic and those who weren't, rightfully mocked and called it shit? Them admitting their fumble and giving him a much better design won them a lot of good favor and as a result the Sonic movie performed quite admirably.
Calling them 'online crybabies' is needlessly petulant, it was a shitty design and I don't think this is a hill worth dying on, my friend.

Yeah it was definitely not a marketing stunt. People give the marketing department way too much credit.

Yeah, I saw the movie. There was a scene where the main human was supposed to have his hand on Sonic's back, but looked like it was a good few inches above Sonic. Like the scene was made for the spawn of satan design.
Which matches what little I've heard that said that design was producer mandated, and the fact that toys for the movie used that old design too. Which isn't something ya do if for a marketing ploy.

The new movie will surely recquire CGI animals due to the scenes shot in South American wilderness, so MPC might be working on that portion of the film while ILM handles the robots as usual
GirlBot
The link leads to their filmography. From what I gathered, they did all Godzilla movies. And they also worked on The Last Knight, Justice Legaue, some Predator and Terminator movies, The Independance Day. I don't really see that much robot action in their portfolio. ILM looks like the go-to when it comes to robots. It may be the case that both studios will work on the project. They worked on Aquaman and The Last Knight before, so I don't think there's any need to panic
GrimlockPrime19
Knowing they did Aquaman worries me less, but did they do what Godzilla movies?
Bcs idk, Transformers CGI are giant robots with thousands of pieces that blow computers. ILM was competent enough in their work, and they didn't disappoint with the Dinobots which were beasts
03Mach1
I'm just gonna go ahead and say it…ILM is the king of CGI. Everything else is just second. If Hasbro/Paramount is not going to give this movie the funding it deserves, then I already do not have high hopes.

I don't think people are crybabies for thinking the dead walking corpse of a hedgehog wasn't something with going to the theaters over.
