Third party company DNA Design have announced, via their Facebook account, their new DK-24 Upgrade Kit For Studio Serie 86 Grimlock.
DNA Design is offering a nice set of improvements and parts for popular Studio Series 86 Grimlock plus a totally new Wheelie figure:
- Wheelie figure (x1) – Fully poseable and transformable with 3 interchangeable heads.
- Sword (x1)
- Arm fillers (x2)
- Feet fillers (x2)
- Clear neck parts for Dino mode (x2)
- Poseable Dino arms (x2)
- Upper jaw fillers for Dino mode (x2)
- Feet covers for Dino mode (x2)
As we can see in the images, the extra parts don’t interfere with the transformation. This kit is scheduled for release in October 2021 and you can pre-order it via our sponsors links below.

Wonder if hasbro plan makes another grimlock how many of these will be up on eBay with add on kit for people buy new grimlock replace this version ?
ReadyParzivalOne
Damn that sucks
so they can’t even give us better weapons of fix some body parts to add more color??
SG Unicron
Not the biggest fan of this new take on SG Wheelie, but I guess it\'s the best way to get an SG outta their mold without people whining that they gave em a G1 Wheelie.
… Also wish the sword was done in some translucent color. To make it more threatening.

Nice
Pcsolyar
Yes, but he's still orange. The toy never happened though, just a character card. He would have used the Cybertron Dark Crumplezone body with Wheelie's head and would have come with a purple redeco of the shark Arms Micron, Jigu, as his Sharktigun.
Pteraxadon
Wait does a shattered glass wheelie even exist?

Its design makes it too hard to make upgrades for. They went with "inside out" engineering so to fix one part they would essentially have to remake the whole figure to get it to transform again. Plus it is an officially licensed figure for the vehicle mode. Hasbro may be ok with 3P upgrades for their stuff but DNA might not want to test if Freightliner is ok with them messing with their official designs.

Preordered from BBTS. Really only want the teeth, foot fillers, and maybe the dino arms. My usual filler-parts person seems to have dropped off the face of the earth so I guess it's the big ticket kits now.

evil Wheelie is pretty neat

Why won\'t they make an upgrade kit for studio series Galvatron?????

I got mine from BBTS, as well. Shipped out my POL on 3/23.

Wrong thread and not that I know of. The hands are indeed terrible with 'deceptive' advertising by DNA…only the bent index finger moves, which is weird and pegs can't go through the hand.

So, I just ordered the DNA DK-25 set but I'm not going to collect Bumblebee nor most movie figures. Can the Starscream hands be used for any other toy?

Those are general issues people have with the kit. It's a mixed bag. The best part is the new dino forearms. Everything else was better done with other kits.
Unfortunately, the ZX Grimlock kit sold out rather quick, and some people didn't even get the full kit (no sword) since they couldn't keep up with demand.

Huh, interesting. All the reviewers I watched reported the same issue with the neck not fitting in perfectly. Where did you get yours from? I wonder if later versions fixed it? I think BBTS got their shipments in late, since I know I was waiting months after other people here got theirs. I only shipped my PoL after this finally showed up, and I had been waiting near the 90 day holding limit!

Mine after some custom paint work on the arms and tail:

You may have just gotten a bad set? I had no issues fitting the clear neck, and while the wrist covers are a bit thick, those tab in as they should.

I finally got mine from BBTS after being in my Pile of Loot. And for the first time, I'm a bit disappointed with a DNA upgrade kit. I went with DNA rather than the others because they have a great track record, and all the other kits I've purchased from them have been spot on.
The fillers for the feet, the dino arms, and the mouth inserts are fine, but the neck and fist covers are just horrible. I personally like the yellow neck (it grew on me after watching some reviews and being curious how it would look on my own figure), but the problem is that it doesn't fit properly. The part that goes over the mushroom peg is too tight, and the plastic where the head peg slides in is too thick for the skull to actually close. I've spent the last couple of days analyzing the problem areas and sanding them down. Made a mistake sanding the neck hole thinking that was the culprit. Currently sanding down the plastic where the rod that attaches the two halves of the face go. It's too thick that the head can't close all the way. It's quite difficult since I don't have the proper tools for this kind of thing.
Almost there, but it's annoying. Wish it actually fit like the original neck.
The fist covers are just… what the heck. It's thick, the pegs are too thick that it won't stay in. I already trimmed it and it still doesn't fit properly. I'm considering getting the slimmer covers from the other grimlock set, because these just suck. They really do.
It's ironic, I buy a bunch of the gap fillers for my other Studio Series and WFC trilogy figs all the time, and it's not the same quality as DNA because the gap fillers are 3D printed and painted. Any time DNA releases their version, I kick myself for not waiting. Ironic that I wait for DNA, and I'm wondering if I should've gone with the 3D printed stuff.
The dino arms, sword, and Wheelie are pretty dope though.
