Courtesy of Geek Culture we can share for you our first in-hand images of the highly anticipated Transformers Kingdom Titan Class Autobot Ark for your viewing pleasure.
This is the latest Titan class figure in the War For Cybertron collection and it brings us a completely new character: A transformable Ark. This figure is full of details and 6 additional blast effect accessories you can fit behind its rocket engines, Sky Spy, two golden discs and a miniature Optimus Prime figurine. It transforms in 26 simple steps so you can enjoy transforming him. The ship opens to reveal a module that can be converted into the bridge mode of the Ark and in Teletraan-1.
Robot mode is sure impressive for any collection and gives us a very original character. The face is clearly sculpted after Marvel’s G1 The Last Autobot. For those wondering about scale, we have comparison shots next to Earthrise Scorponok and Haslab Unicron.

Oh, believe me, I know this person (or group) put a lot of amazing effort into these and they're breathtaking, but I have to draw the line somewhere. Parts count, paint apps, size/scale differences, rebuying the same thing over and over again, etc… It's burning me out. When something's this small, skill or no, I have to say no at the current asking price on these.
I'm sure they're absolutely worth it to some, just not to me. They make for a beautiful display piece, as shown above, but gosh no.
gdg104198
oof that price.
SoundwaveSuperior
To be fair, it's $220 for the set of 18, so roughly $12 each. Certainly not cheap, but seems reasonable for the amount of effort put in.

Agreed the price is a bit expensive as a whole. Not sure if I would ever have a chance at it again and in person the detail is AMAZING!
Was worth the roughly $13 a piece for this:

Just keep your 2 year olds and pets away!

I can't do it. Those prices are just way, way too high. I get that they're detailed, painted, and all that but $200+ for what's roughly the size of a grain of rice… Past a certain point, I can't justify a purchase. I refuse.

I've seen pics of 3D printed versions around, I imagine the files are out there somewhere.

Looks like my Ark should be landing later today…..any new 3rd party hands for him yet?

In cannon now though Trypticon is the Nemesis.

I'm just looking forward to seeing if DNA Studio is going to swoop in an blow our socks off as to their ARK kits IF they actually make anything for it.
I'd like to see some spring loaded panels for the back exposed sections. But having some spring loaded panels the open or close depending on transformation with give it a cool premium look and feel. also, we need some fold away bridges for it that can connect to the other Titans and Modulator figures that turn to bases and such.
It most certainly needs a new Poseable Head on a Ball jointed Neck, needs new hands with fully jointed Fingers. And yeah The titan needs a weapon of some kind.

I think a replacement of the whole end cap would be the best way since it wouldn't need to extend out too far since you're not stacking it and can be made to be whatever design you want.
Not sure about cost, but the current prices of those out there are not realistic for me. +/- $20 for a molded set of inserts I could do.
T-Hybrid
I'm hoping now that more people are getting this in hand the 3Ps will come up with something that solves this without costing an arm and a leg and requiring me to unpin and essentially scrap entire parts.
mechman22
I see what you mean. hmmm
T-Hybrid
I'm aware of fillers for the main gap in the leg. But to help with stability in Ark mode it may help if that piece had a panel that could fold out and latch in to the gap near the grey elbow joint. Dunno how thick it'd need to be, but that connect may be enough to help hold the legs/upper body together and help the rest latch together along the top where that grey panel panel is that forms the top of the ship.
mechman22
There are actually two such 3rd party 3D printed filler panels out there (quality will vary. check ebay), but I myself don't like either one.

I'm thinking a replacement clip panel that looks like this but had hinged panels that split open, would work better. Now I have to pull out Fusion 360 and make one.

There's *supposed* to be stuff but I think the tolerances are a bit off so it's not solid enough to actually hold anything together. It's unfortunate, but it's "only" a problem when whooshing the Ark around and then moreso if you hold it by the thrusters rather then from below.
Looking at it, I think an upgrade kit that closed the main gap in the legs but then also hinged out to connect it to the small gap where the arm folds at the elbow could potentially solve the problem and help hold things together better.

Dunno if anyone's tried that yet. But there's a free suggestion for anyone at Dr. Wu or Shockwave's Lab who may be listening.

I opened up the box and first thought was 'oh the big gap on the sides isn't nearly as bad as the pictures make it seem to be'…
then I realized there were cowling parts to attach and yeah it is weird how they didn't have a solution for that…I would have been happy with a snap on piece that you remove to transform

Just got mine and I'm sadly having the exact same issue with ark mode. Where the upper body tabs into the legs there is well and truly nothing that actually holds them together. There are some rounded lips that are a few millimeters long that sort of rest in some slots but a true connection point for holding the shape is non-existent. Its own weight flops it in half again every time.
After messing with it for another hour it honestly feels like the clearances are all wrong on it and it physically pushes itself apart on its own. I'm certain I have all the limbs right…
T-Hybrid
That's where mine were as well. The small globe accessory was also stored on Mainframe's bridge panel in cockpit mode.
I apologize to Mainframe. I assumed he was a Deluxe but in hand he's a Voyager. He's got the height and mass. Overall the whole thing is solid!
Only thing I wish I could figure out is how to better attach the thrusters to the front half in Ark mode
