Thanks to 2005 Board member Jtprime17 we have the official product descriptions of the upcoming Transformers R.E.D Optimus Primal and Reformatting Megatron.
We have another mix of G1 with Beast Wars characters for the non-transforming R.E.D action figure line. While we still have no images, the official product descriptions gives us some interesting data about these new figures.
R.E.D Optimus Primal will feature over 30 points of articulation. Includes 2 flip-down shoulder-mounted blasters and 2 Cyber Blades (can combine) and hidden forearm blasters.
Reformatting Megatron (we may bet it’s a R.E.D G1 Megatron redeco) depicts Megatron midway through his rebirth into the immensely powerful and menacing Galvatron as seen in the classic G1 Transformers movie. Includes his iconic Fusion Cannon, 4 alternate hands including one that holds an Energon cube, and an Energon mace accessory.

JLvatron
Yes, I may have to compromise my Transformers morals and buy this Action Master.
Joshb721
I really thought Knockout would be in the next wave, but I guess not. That's disappointing, I really hope they get around to the rest of the Prime cast eventually.
Dead Metal
I hope that Megatron is a new mold. I got the first wave of these and gotta say, the molds and quality are really disappointing. I really love the idea and concept of these, but the execution so far hasn't been up to snuff. Deformed parts, articulation that's useless because of poor design choices, bad and too few paint apps etc.
Rated X
If its a translucent purple Megatron, it might be the first and only RED figure ill ever buy. But if its a Megatron body with a Galvatron head and right arm painted to look "midway" through reformatting, I have zero interest.
YoungPrime
The only RED TF PRIME figure that I might be interested in is Arachnid. Especially since they violated that original one to Happy Meal Toy standards.
Obnimaz
I bought the Prime Arcee figure and she's nice enough but I don't really plan to buy many more RED figures. Like many have said, they feel cheap compared to other figures at the same msrp from the same company. If Reformatting Megatron looks nice enough, I might get it just to hang in front of Unicron when I figure out how I want him displayed
Chaos Muffin
Totally diggin these, its like they finally started making PVC figures again but bigger and better this time.
shibamura_prime
I'm still happy with my SCF Reformatted Megatron but Optimus Primal I am required by law to buy. R.E.D. keeps pulling me in.
Tekkaman Blade
Which makes it all the more annoying when you realize that posability wise you'd be better of with a MP or a 3rd party legends figure and those can transform.
Roufuss
I’ll go one step further and say they are awful.
– The plastic feels cheap as hell.
– Arcee was a floppy mess on the one I got.
– Megatron’s ab joint was a floppy mess for me.
– The paint is sloppy on most that I’ve seen.
This is honestly a huge step down from every other Hasbro action figure brand. It’s like they got the D-team to work on these.
I bought all of the first wave + Arcee and sold all of them off. Just completely disappointed in the execution but really loved the idea.
They are inferior to mainline stuff in every way including articulation, which blows my mind since these are only robot modes!
Cosmoglide
dag nabbit. I'm gonna want that Megatron. i don't want to want RED figures.
WhiteMocha
After picking up all the R.E.D. figures so far, I’m not sure I have it in me to keep going with them. They’re not awful or anything, they’re just boring. And they don’t quite have the fit/finish or articulation to justify the lack of transformation. I dunno, I’m sure there are still a few I’ll pick up (favorite characters, obscure weirdos, etc.) but overall it’s just not a very compelling subline.
Magnusfan Nujevad
Really? Even if they're all the same size?
OriginalFire
I guess people are buying the RED stuff. I guess the research payed off.
Big Convoy XIII
"Ahhhahahahaha.. An admirable attempt by the red-headed step-child~!!"
But yeah, on a more serious note.. Primal sounds kinda neat, I’ll never buy it, but neat none the less. And as for Megatron, he’d make for a cool diorama piece if they do the figure right, but given it’ll be a transparent figure…… I foresee many Q.C issues on the horizon. Still, I am excited to see how it turns out regardless.
JackKnife
I'd settle for transparent purple with gridlines on the outside and paper inserts inside with the components printed.
RacerCheetor
Monkey, I don't care about your measurements, I just want you in my BW collection.

Me when Other Megatrons are getting repainted instead of Siege Megatron:

I'll get megs if he looks decent to go with my unicron and no it's not haslab unicron it's my energon unicron which I love but I'll still display him with it. But it has to look decent
doomtron
Omg I just figured out another use for siege/er Megatron lol
