Dude, it was like Stanley Tucci looked at the camera, winked, and said "Now let's move the entire movie to China."
You did.
That would be awesome.
An actual Hot Rod, not Haught Rude and he wouldn't say "Hey Bumblebee, even though we saw a movie where you first came to Earth in 2006 you remember how we fought the Nazis way back in World War II? Remember, with all of those other Transformers who were here back then that no one knew about? With the secret order of Witwickans that even the Witwicky family had no idea they were a member of? Nor did we. Nor did the audience. Good times."

Wow best rendition of Hot Rod, i've ever seen. Not a fan of statues, but I hope they can release an MP version with this design.
It looks a lot like a Bumblee Movie design, maybe Hot Rod will be in the next movie

the two things that just blew my mind about that movie where the fact that the dinosaurs that get bombed with the *ahem* Transformerium (<–ok, that's a third thing) at the beginning have absolutely nothing to do with the dinosaur-like transforming robots that apparently (???) aren't Transformers that show up on Lockdown's ship from who-knows-where later on in the movie & the fact the whole thing just abruptly shifts to China late in the game, as far as I recall, for absolutely no logical narrative point within the story.
(we all know it was because it was getting some of those sweet, sweet Chinese co-producing dollars that I believe lets them be released as native films)
made the first and second halves feel as artificially grafted together as ROTF (which we know was because they literally cobbled together from two incomplete scripts due to the writer's strike <–at least they had an excuse….)
I feel like I just put more thought into this post than it felt like was put into the script of AoE.

Typical Bayverse nonsense?
Unlikeable characters?
Nonsensical plot?
Continuity errors with prior movies and even in its own narrative?
Yep. Typical Bayverse nonsenes.
It's a major plot point, too.
Optimus is like "Bumblebee, you can talk?"
So even though Bumblebee had talked before everyone is amazed that he talks in this movie.
Oh, but Bumblebee is also indestructible and no one mentions that.
You don't know what you are missing.
And I commend you for that.

I have yet to finish the movie. It's been 2 years now.

XM and ILM need to shake hands.

LOL that was me with BvS but that's a whole other issue entirely.
I was in the Theatre so I was caught up on the eye candy special effects I knew going in expectations were low but damn Hot Rod was my favorite character and was reduced to a horrible cameo.
"I almost turned the movie off when I was presented with Canopy.
You know, the Transformer that literally turned into a pile of trash."
Ok I laughed at this when I heard his voice Steve Buscemi: Daytrader
All the movies have been horrible but I just watch them for the eye candy except for Bumble Bee and the first movie. And I never understood after Bumble Bee got his voice back at the end of the movie they reverted back to radio DJ smh.
jrod1019
Don't get me wrong as aliens goes they did a phenomenal job of creating them as transforming aliens but as a classic fan of the Transformers they thru the characters, personalities, & emotions out the window.

So everything

that was like me with AoE… took me 2 maybe 3 times to get through. aside from the typical Bayverse nonsense, it was just SOOOOO dull.
(I'm not a total LA movie hater either, I generally enjoy 07 and think DotM has it's moments)
after hearing TLK was more of the same and even worse the AoE, never even tried watching it.

Depending where they are after they redid their deal with Paramount, hopefully they can exert more control over how their IPs/characters should look and act. But I'll believe when I see it.

PRIME: "HR-86, I have a special mission for you and B-127."

I guess they are saving expenses on the alt mode statue by not including the trailer, but it makes it seem more like a Hot Rod statue than Rodimus Prime if all they're including is the car.
I almost turned the movie off when I was presented with Canopy.
You know, the Transformer that literally turned into a pile of trash.
Then when I met Hot Rod who could not even pronounce his name I did turn it off.
I turned it back on the next day but still couldn't make it through until the end of the movie.
It literally took me three times to finish that horrible film.
It's not even in a "so bad it's good" category.

Why can\'t we get these god damn designs on the big screen? Wake the fuck up Paramount.
bman29
The head design is what makes it nightmare fuel, but if I'm not mistaken, this was a reworking of Lockdown's model. The designs got better as the series went on but that's not saying much. There's always going to a complexity to the live action designs just so things can move more humanlike. The Bumbler movie designs are not too far removed from these, they were just smoothed out with the larger pieces but the mechanical joints are about the same.
artiepants
yeah, I'd actually rank him one of the better Bayverse designs (he's clean!), but at the same time, like most AOE/TLK bots I find his silhouette way too generically "human"
He also feels a little redundant in design since his silhouette is basically Bayverse Bumblebee without wings.
