Thanks to 2005 Board member @tankor92 for sharing in our boards in-hand images of the new Carl’s Jr Star Pals Evergreen Transformers Toys that have been released in Mexico.
There’s only 2 Transformers figures released: Optimus Prime and Bumblebee (together with 2 My Little Pony figures). Packaging comes with some small coloring activity pages and each 10-cm toy comes with stickers to give them extra details.
Bumblebee is the only “transforming” figure, but you just take out the robot which is hidden under the car mode and that’s all. Optimus Prime is a non-transforming figurine. He can move his right arm by pressing a button on his back. The battle axe can be placed in any of his hands.
We still have no concrete information if these figures would be released in the US. Click on the bar to see the mirrored images on this news post and then share your impressions on the 2005 Board!

Honestly, the Bumbleebee one is a clever workaround to Hasbro's "Non-Transforming" clause. It at least TRIES to incorporate the transforming part of Transformers.

Hasbro doesn't make the happy meal toys. All happy meal toys are made by The Marketing Store. Parts count and cost do play a factor though. Look at the Hot Wheels promos. We used to get mainline cars with die cast. That's not feasible anymore and we end up with those gimmick based plastic cars.
Fallout
fuck you, i'm eating.
Powerbomb
It's not a question of 'where' or 'who prepares what', it's about eating shit. Plain and simple.
Most 'fast food' is shit, but I'm getting off topic.
These are called Transformers. They should You know, Transform.
I think the cardboard-limbed Wendy's "toys" from a few years back were slightly better.
Even if they had no articulation, they had that unique expression changing gimmick. even if they didn't transform either…

shellformer
An actionmaster with a pretender shell is pretty sweet, actually. This is not a great version of the concept but I could dig a transformer that feels like it wandered in from some forgotten series.
WishfulThinking
Unfortunately, that doesn't hold water because the figures are produced by Hasbro themselves. I think it's more about part count, cost and marketing research (i.e. 3-year-old kids at McDonald's want action figures that shoot large projectiles versus ones that change into crappy cars and jets).
NemiMonkey
They filed some sort of patent or something that basically said only they can produce transforming figures. Hence why all the movie figs and such are static gimmick figures.
I remember reading a more detailed explanation here but for the life of me I can't remember what thread it was.
Man I miss the Changeables. Wouldn't even care if they were in the same vein as those anniversary figures, just wish they'd bring back that concept.
Gee Won 1984
A restaurant is only as good as it's workers, looks like you need to find a better area to eat at or move where people actually care about their job. I've never gotten sick from McDonalds food, but know the ones to avoid because the workers suck and screwed up the food.
Gee Won 1984
I think you can blame the Karens and control freaks who attacked fast food restaurants for years trying to get them to raise prices and remove toys from their kids meals for the quality of toys now days. They blamed fast food for their kids being fat, while they sit on their butts playing on their phones all day not exercising at all. Not as many places have kids toys as they used to now. They are not willing to invest in improving toys because it isn't worth the hassle anymore if idiots are going to blame them for enticing kids to eat fast food with nice toys.
You want better toys, change the culture and tell people to stop blaming a restaurant for problems they created themselves. Otherwise they will start to make problems that affect you and everyone.
Shark Jumper
Did Hasbro make some sort of decree Transformers promotional toys are not allowed to transform or something? Makes me wish McDonalds did their own original promos like McChangeables or something.
Vector Oracle
Fair point. The transformation is more like an Actionmaster with a Pretender shell, now that I think of it.
Spark Less Goon
God what a waste of plastic. If I got my kid one of those he would think he was being punished. Dollar Tree has better versions. Yuck.
primalxconvoy
Bumblebee looks to have the same transformation as Earthrise Arcee…
WishfulThinking
Yeah, but the robots had vehicle modes too.
Vector Oracle
He’s also a Pretender Vehicle in all but name.
WishfulThinking
I'm actually okay with Bumblebee. Yes, he's the ultimate shellformer but, if they can't transform, this is a really awesome workaround. I'd like to see more food toys made that way, actually, in lieu of actual transformation.

Wait is that the lenticular chested set of 4? Dunno if that's ever going to hit stateside but apparently there's another set of 6 with Ratchet and Grimlock being added to the mix in Asia/Europe and Latin America. If the list is right earliest they could hit is July for the US. Since it's going to be Ty Beanie Boos into Disney Luca after this current SW/Disney Princess give away. When the heck are the movies going to be released for Cyberverse anyways. Might see a release around then.
Pushan Halder
Wow these look soooo terrible and I don\'t even think kids are gonna love them.
just my opinion here.
StarMaverick
Facts! Looks like they could be mold mates!
